About Destrina RivennePaladin Code of Ragathiel I am the blade that strikes at the heart of evil. I will seek out and destroy corruption and evil at its root. I will not waste my life for if I am dead, evil is allowed to fester within the world, and the innocent will be without vengeance. I will fight fairly when the fight is fair, but when it is not, I will use all the tools at my disposal. I shall give mercy to those with evil in their hearts, but not yet in their deeds. They shall be given the chance to labor for their salvation. Those with the darkest heritage may become bastions of the light. I am vengeance for the wronged, the weak, and the innocent. I shall not allow evil to profit from the exploitation of others. Those who commit these crimes will find no succor in shadow, no safety in numbers, and no fortress in power that I will not eventually overcome. I do not hunt foolishly, but nor do I abandon the trail. I am bound by my word. Respect is hard won and easily lost, and a lie will destroy even the most hardwon trust. To be unfaithful to liege, lover, family, or friend is anathema. I shall be a fortress to my allies. I shall never leave them to perish, unless they sacrifice themselves freely. I will not be taken prisoner by evil, nor shall I allow others to suffer that fate. I treat duty as my closest friend. It is a banner to be carried, not shackles to be worn. My duty proves the strength of my soul, as that which gives light also endures burning. Destrina Rivenne

Destrina Rivenne is a tall, powerfully built woman who appears to be of the mixed Chelish/Taldan ethnicity common in Galt. She has long black hair, and unnaturally bright blue eyes. Her features are, to a human at least, almost unnaturally perfect. What you can see of Destrina's olive-toned skin is covered in tattoos, including an intricately detailed and stylized version of Ragathiel's holy symbol beneath her right eye. She wears an exquisitely crafted set of full plate mail, with a gold and crimson tabard over top. She bears a large hammer that appears to be made of some type of silver, as well as a cold iron bastard sword, a cold iron warhammer, a few circular bladed rings, and a large wooden shield.
Personality:
Destrina is a firebrand. When she discovers people or monsters doing evil, she is the wrath incarnate. It is not enough for them to be evil, they must actually commit evil acts. She rarely proselytizes, except to those seemingly falling to an evil path. Outside of actual evil, she is not judgmental. She makes no issue of lesser vices as there is too much death and slavery in the world to worry about such things. To her friends and allies she is kind and gregarious, free with compliments and short on criticism. She is first to protect her allies from harm, and the last out of the fray. She seeks to be an inspiration of virtue and right action to everyone around her.
Backstory:
Destrina Victorina Rivenne was born to Baron and Baroness Luc and Marguerite Rivenne in rural Galt. As the eldest of six children, Destrina was to be the next Baroness, and spent her early years learning the necessary skills to manage an estate and vassals. All that changed when the Thrice Damned House of Thrune took over Cheliax. During the rebellion that followed most members of the nobility were hanged or executed via Final Blades. A more personal struck the family as the Revolution swung into full force, Destrina's mother died in the birth of her sixth child, Deandre. Luc's grief over the death of his wife turned to rage as the revolution targeted him, leading to a battle between House Rivenne's retainers and the revolutionaries. The Rivenne forces won, but the battle turned into a massacre of the common people, regardless of affiliation with the revolution. Luc knew that he'd gone too far, and that when the revolution returned, he and his children would all die. He sent the children to a relative in Taldor, but remained behind, hoping to defend his land against the revolutionaries. He failed. Destrina and her siblings' next years were spent in the home of their father's cousin, Alderic Rivenne. Destrina became a serious and somber child, eventually choosing to serve in the local temple of Iomedae. The priests quickly determined that she didn't have the patience to be a priest, but her strength of body and force of personality made a perfect fit for a paladin. Destrina's training continued until the age of 26, at which time she embarked upon the divine calling of a paladin of Iomedae to eradicate evil where it grows. The Fourth Mendevian Crusade had just been called, and the House Rivenne responded. Not only did Destrina travel to Mendev, her siblings also responded to the call. However, the Crusade was not as Destrina hoped or imagined. Rather than striking into the Worldwound and cutting out the heart of the demonic armies, the Crusaders merely guarded the edge of the area at the Wardstones. Destrina's comments to her commanders about their moral duty and that they should be striking into the center of the Worldwound were not taken kindly. Eventually, after years of barely fighting, the paladin's distaste for her commanders lack of conviction was beginning to get the better of her. Around the same time, she made a friend in a fellow paladin, Tellius Galonnica from Cheliax, who revered a different, more wrathful deity, the Empyreal Lord Ragathiel. With the belief that her talents would be better served actually destroying some evil, Destrina asked to be released from the Mendevian Crusade. Her request was quickly granted by commanders that viewed her as an overzealous troublemaker. A full decade after she left, Destrina returned to Taldor. It was only a short stopover on the way to Magnimar in Varisia, where Tellius had told her a larger following of Ragathiel could be found. While in Taldor, she reunited with her cousin Darius who had been just a boy when she left, and was now a wizard in his own right. Darius became enamored with the idea of traveling to Varisia and studying Thassilonian magic. They set off together, exploring Thassilonian ruins and destroying evil the creatures contained within.
