Lucius- didn't you receive red robes or cloak or something. MJ picked out something for everyone that first time.
(It's not sitting right with me that you have 0 items and only 5k gold. Seems like you should have significantly more.)
I did say that I have 2K of items (+1 Armor and +1 Cloak of Resist), including the red robes you mentioned.
I've got 3k gold and not accounted for anything from the catacombs last run. I did help Zag pay for some stuff which would account for a bit of a discrepancy.

The Ogon Fox |

I have 19,415 total wealth (13,000 of that is the organetto of building which Toshio won in the contest).
That is before counting any shares of the rainbow room stuff (I did not include the poison dagger) or of the idols, etc. that Bear commented on here:
edit: I went back and looked. We found a gold calf and gold star (worth 1400 and 2100). Then we found all the rainbow room items... they are listed first on page 35 of gameplay.
edit: THEN we got the opals out of the stone devil (5,000 each), and then we got opals out of Asmodeus's statue's eyes (3,000 each)
That all adds up to 19500, or 3250 when you divide it six ways. So I would imagine that is our take. That does not include the rainbow room items yet.

Well now we know about Brunelleschi we should probably have someone look over the aqueducts again. And Lucius's palazzo could use a few extensions if you have the time/inclination? ;)

Will Toshio Okumura go away to the court of the Holy Roman Emperor to continue his career in musical composition? Will the Ogon Fox be lured away from his crusader companions by the wiles of the beautiful Tringelda, Dame of Griffons? Find out next time, on The Fox and the Bear !

Lmao! What kind of GM would I be if I didn’t throw the occasional conundrum in?

I DON'T THINK SO, FOX.

Falchion - +1 Flaming (Zag?)Amulet - +1 corrosive of mighty fists (Johann!)
Longsword - +1 Shocking (Sell?)
Dagger - Dagger of Venom (Sell?)
Jar - Stone to Flesh x5 (Keep?)
Headband - Mental Superiority (Boga!)
Without selling Doomcrescent (which Zag prefers I think) we get (8,302 + 8320)/2.
So 8311gp. Since Lucius, Quin and Fox didn't get anything they want out of the catacombs that would be another 2770.33 gp each.
So:
Johann/Zag/Boga: 3250gp
Ogon/Lucius/Quin: 6020.33gp.
Note: Quinlan is still crafting so there's some items in the pipeline hopefully!

Zagathoth |

Hey all, sorry for taking so long to get back into posting! The longer the boards were down the less often I was checking (and then when they were 50/50 I kept hitting downtimes). Now that they seem to be stable again I should be back to regular posting. I'm planning on catching up on all my games today (although some have a fair number of posts to read through).
Also, you're all exactly right about the falchions... Zag definitely prefers doomcresent right now but will have no objections to carrying around both if someone explains to him that the flaming sword didn't work well against the stone monsters but will be really good against enemies that can burn. As soon as I can afford it, I'd like to get doomcresent upgraded to keen (so I definitely don't want to sell it even though the flaming one is just all around better).

Zagathoth |

lol- I'm reading through our gameplay thread right now (starting back where the outages began) and two things made me laugh out loud: Johann's attempt to play wingman, and the fact that everyone just accepted that Zag was willing and able to kill something while wrapped up in a sheet with his lady friend

![]() |

Has he ever given us reason to think otherwise? Lucius's white hair wasn't just the result of divine revelation you know!

Zagathoth |

lol- I suppose not... and, honestly, even unarmed and encumbered he's not bad in a fight!
Actually, I just looked it up and while raging I can carry upto 173 pounds before becoming encumbered so 'wearing' my lady friend wouldn't even slow me down.

Toshio Okumura |

Keante wrote:Honestly, it might be refreshing to play some new character joining the companions because the Fox is gone. Hm...You are welcome to choose that option as well.
Keante doesn't have time to build a new character. The Fox will just have to deal with it as the beautiful lady leaves and he returns to hanging out with a bunch of dudes underground near large volumes of dead bodies. =)

Sorry - busy at work has meant no time for shopping!
Quickly - Lucius invests in a Ring of Prot +2 for 8K, masterworks greatsword for 300 and saves remaining gold.

Zagathoth |

So... I haven’t chimed in because Zag wouldn’t think of these things and I was hoping someone else would do it in character, but ooc... are we considering the practical side of things here at all? Like, how are we going to eat? If the plan is just to hand wave all that (or trust that God will provide manna from heaven) that’s cool, but should we maybe talk about how much food would fit in the bag of holding? Or consider investing in rings of sustenance, or a sustaining spoon? I can carry a lot, and in bear form Johann can carry even more, but should we consider grabbing another bag of holding (or handy haversack) for transporting whatever we find?
also, how much did we each get again? And does Lucius ask Zag to repay what he covered for the armor?

The Ogon Fox |

Okay so I have 7,080 gp. I believe it takes 2,000 for crafting my belt, and then I'll spend 3,000 to upgrade my cloak of resistance from +1 to +2.

![]() |

I did the most recent loot haul about 10 posts up Zag. And no you dont have to repay Lucius for the armor.

The Ogon Fox |

awesome sword, Cardinal!
Yeah, that's so cool.
MJ, you certainly have a flair for making magic weapons way more interesting than the simple +1 to some stats. Love it.

Thank you! One of my favorite aspects of fantasy are magic weapons that have a history and unique feel.

and much appreciated it is too!
Lucius' collection of named items continues to grow!

Zagathoth |

I found that, thanks.
How are we handling crafting that Quinlan can't do? Especially right now while we have some limited access to Papal resources? Could I trade in the flaming sword for a keen one at the armory? If I sold it is there someone I could have upgrade doomcresent to keen?

I like the idea (taken from MMORPGs) of magic crafting forges in big cities with high magic access (Rome, Paris, London, Nuremberg, Frankfort, Lisbon, Constantinople, etc), in which crafters can break unwanted magic items down into their elementary components and reuse those components to craft or upgrade other items...
Zag could have the Flamefang falchion broken down and use its magical components to enhance Doomcrescent with keenness... at an even trade.

Zagathoth |

Sweet! In that case, I will have done that while out with the Cardinal. I’ll also have picked up a medallion of St Michael while we were at the church (an amulet of natural armor +1) and a white cloak like the ones the paladins wear (cloak of resistance +1).

Quinlan Ifrean |

in between crafting Quinlan fines the time to go find himself a sturdy new shield. An elongated mithral buckler that appears almost like an oversized bracer.
Buying a +1 mithral bucklerl

![]() |

uhhh... I can't remember this... do we have a way of getting back if we go into this teleportation circle?

![]() |

We were given a scroll of teleport so that we could get back. The Pope provides!

Billybrainpan |

High folks, I have been struggling with some mental health stuff which has drawn a lot of energy away from things like these games. I hope to be back on the boards more regularly and playing again soon. If you don't mind being kind of patient I do want to continue playing but if it feels a little too disruptive I understand. Let me know.

![]() |

^^ That is Quinlan.
Quinlan, stay strong! We hope you stay with us in this crazy ride of MJ's GMing.

![]() |

We are missing Boga too! BOOOOOOGGGGGAAAA! Cast resist electricity on me, please!
Normally at this level there would be an option to prepare that spell, but we kinda went into this teleportation circle blind so.... come what may.

Zagathoth |

good news/bad news fellow crusaders- I think I pretty well got its attention lol
edit: since the dragon already took it's round 1 action, should I post my round 2 (so that you're free to post its round 2 once everyone else finishes round 1) or should I wait until round 1 is declared over (to avoid any possible confusion)?
re-edit: +1 on missing Boga, I'm pretty sure I'll be ready for some of his healing ability pretty soon...

![]() |

So - who wants which potions?
Lucius would like Wis obviously, Str might be useful too but others can probably find a better use for it.
Also - anyone interested in the assorted items? Someone should take the ring of Prot +2

Zagathoth |

I’d love to claim the ring; brawlers are pretty lightly armored (a mithril breastplate is probably the heaviest armor I’d ever wear) so anything that ups my AC is helpful.
As for the elixirs, that is going to be tough... especially having players whose status is in question...
