Johann Kaltgeboren- Dire Bear! |
I got this shinobi pinned so someone tie her up and let's get some answers!
Boga |
”When we are done killing things for the pope we could go kill this man whose booty is on your head, Fox,” Zagathoth suggests.
Duhhh! We all know that booty head is punishable by death! LOL. I avoid it at all costs!
The Ogon Fox |
I think it's a good time to try my Ears of the City spell. It's basically a very highly accelerated version of the Gather Information function of the Diplomacy skill.
MJ, how would you feel about using it just to catch rumors in general?
Alternatively, does anybody have particular topics or individuals we could be trying to gather information on?

Sounds good to me, I’ll prep results should Fox decide to cast it.

Getting close to uniting table 2 with table 1 to go after Nero... they taken Safi, a vital seaport, from a monastery of vampire monks, and must now assassinate the Emir of Marrakech before he sends another assassin after them and their renegade band of freed slaves and gladiators... They killed the first assassin, dark elf Spinner Nachtschwartzen...
Johann Kaltgeboren |
Do they still have a full contingent of players in table 2?
Zagathoth |
Hey all- so sorry for falling silent (again) there! I’ve been sick all week and haven’t been able to think very clearly. Hopefully I’ll be caught up on my games by tonight (if the site will start cooperating a little better)
The Ogon Fox |
Bahahaha how long till we have a half orc baby we need to care for?
I suppose I know the answer--about 9 months.
Zagathoth |
Lol- I find this whole situation more amusing than I probably should... I don’t know how much anyone has looked at my character or paid attention to his background but our friendly orcish death-machine is 16 (which is an adult by orcish standards) and until a few months ago lived in a stall/cage among the animals of an illegal underground fighting pit- his only sex Ed has been occasionally seeing the animals go at it, overhearing human gladiators talking about being rewarded with sex for certain victories, and a rather awkward conversation with Boga... plus I have an 8 Int... Like, aside from a vague notion of sex-diseases Zag really has no concept of there being consequences to his activities (such as children) at all!
The Ogon Fox |
I'm just waiting for the tales of the Fox and the Bear to transform into something like Full House.
Cardinal Lucius d'Borja |
Well Lucius will ensure the child is brought up a good Catholic. That's about all the help he's offering though - unless you count letting the girl stay in the first place? :)
Johann Kaltgeboren |
Uh oh, Zag dies, leaving Fox and Bear to raise the half-orc baby, with Uncle Lucius the cold and calculating landlord.
Zagathoth |
Hahaha! I don’t want to die (because I enjoy playing Zag), but part of me really wants to die just so I can read the adventures of bear and fox trying to raise a baby half-orc...
Cardinal Lucius d'Borja |
Who said cold and calculating? Lucius has a heart, and a really nice house!
He just has standards too! :P
Johann Kaltgeboren |
Aha! Well, that makes you Danny. Fox is Uncle Jesse, and of course Bear is Joey.
Johann Kaltgeboren |
stupid Paizo has robbed us of our game momentum. Don't give up, people!
We are still waiting for Boga in our meeting.
Striga Lucrezia |
Tuesday afternoon, January 18th:
The company assembled by the satanic witch Lucrezia begins mining for diamonds in the divination-indicated areas of the northern slopes of the Atlas Mountains. The witch and her crew of locally-recruited gnoll overseers and whip-crackers push the team of mostly Italian and Spanish laborers to their limits, with several succumbing to exhaustion and being raised as zombies to continue their labor tirelessly and for free...
Cardinal Lucius d'Borja |
That's always the advantage of being evil - you can get so much more done with undead minions...
Lucius is in, although quite how ascending towards godhood fits in the Catholic heirarchy... I guess he's beatifying himself...?

Precisely. Saint Lucius the Inquisitive. Catholic hero-deity/demigod in the pantheon with El Shaddai/Yahweh/Allah as greater god, Christ as demigod ascending to greater godhood by communion with the Father, and the Holy Spirit a feminine demigoddess ascending in similar fashion to greater godhood. The saints are all demigods. It’s confusing theology to shoehorn into Pathfinder terms...
Johann Kaltgeboren |
SOMEONE (not naming names) keeps interrupting the blonde elf so she still hasn't gotten around to giving us the message for Fox...
Going back to Boga's question, who else isn't keeping their rainbow room item?
And what other items do we have for selling? MJ, are you tracking this?
(it's been a long time, now)
edit: I went back and looked. We found a gold calf and gold star (worth 1400 and 2100). Then we found all the rainbow room items... they are listed first on page 35 of gameplay.
edit: THEN we got the opals out of the stone devil (5,000 each), and then we got opals out of Asmodeus's statue's eyes (3,000 each)
That all adds up to 19500, or 3250 when you divide it six ways. So I would imagine that is our take. That does not include the rainbow room items yet.
Boga |
I believe she has already delivered the message to Lucius (the vellum scroll).
Item disposition is still an issue. Boga would like to keep the headband, but it is quite valuable (16k), so selling it and distributing the proceeds is an option. As for the other items, a falchion and something else (a dagger? I'd have to look at this point) have not been claimed or sold.
The Ogon Fox |
The dagger seemed most suited to me, but I don't want to use it because I don't like the poison ability. It would be good for me to have a backup weapon when my electric damage is not effective, but I'd rather have a vanilla magic weapon in that event than the poison one. Let's get some gold out of it.
Cardinal Lucius d'Borja |
Yeah, I just have to give it to Toshiro when she doesn't get the chance to link him and the Ogon Fox.
As to the items, feel free to take the headband Boga, you'll get lots of use out of it. I'm not interested in the rest though - so anything people don't want can be sold. Perhaps the people who decline the items can share the extra money?
So everyone gets 3250 and then either extra money, or a good item.
Boga |
One issue for Zagathoth is whether he wants the new falchion. Technically, it is a better weapon than Doomcrescent, but I know he did not like how it performed in the battle. Perhaps Boga or Lucius could explain basic statistics and opponent difficulty and how it was not the sword's fault? I'm sure Zag would really appreciate that. LOL
Johann Kaltgeboren |
I am also selling my original amulet of mighty fists for 2000 gold (that is 50% value), putting my total gold up to 5350. Now what to buy.... I may save it... not sure.... Actually Quinlan, you can make wondrous items? Can you do a belt of physical might? It would cost 5000. and take several days.
Also: Boga, could you take this? I gave it to you a while ago, but wasn't sure it ever made it to your inventory:
Bag of Holding 1 with:
rope of climbing,
a decanter of endless water,
a spoon of sustenance,
a jar of sovereign glue,
and a jar of universal solvent.
Michael Johnson 66 |
Sounds like you guys are pretty loaded for level 6 PCs... That’s okay though, as there isn’t a whole lot of treasure to loot in the next several Catacombs rooms... That should give you time to “grow into” your current wealth... But once all is distributed, sold, and divided up, if you will each tally your total wealth, I will know if I need to hold back on giving out treasure for a bit or increase it. Thanks!
P.S.: Thank you everyone for hanging in there through all the Paizo site delays and being dedicated to continuing this awesome campaign with me! Looking forward to another foray into the Catacombs soon! :)
Quinlan Ifrean |
I can make a belt when i'm done with Fox's but I think after we come back out of the catacombs. I don't think any of the rainbow room items are all that helpful for me.
Johann Kaltgeboren |
Thanks Quinlan. Right, no rush. More important we get going back to smashing evil.
MJ, minus a few consumables I don't feel like pricing out, I am extremely close to 15,000 in gear and 5,000 in loose gold.
That puts me about level 6.5 in the wealth by level chart! Not bad.

Perfect!
Cardinal Lucius d'Borja |
Falchion - +1 Flaming (Zag?)
Amulet - +1 corrosive of mighty fists (Johann!)
Longsword - +1 Shocking (Sell?)
Dagger - Dagger of Venom (Sell?)
Jar - Stone to Flesh x5 (Keep?)
Headband - Mental Superiority (Boga!)
Johann Kaltgeboren |
We should absolutely keep that stone to flesh salve! You know that MJ will put us into a situation that needs it...
Boga |
I agree on keeping the salve.
Not counting Rumpelstiltskin's Rucksack, Boga has 21k of magic items. He was low before the headband, but now he's over. So Boga can pass on his share of the gold (though any of that amount that the group wants to dedicate to scrolls would be nice).
Boga |

I think we've both asked the other about it a couple times before, so let's make it official. Boga has Rumpelstiltskin's Rucksack. I'll add it to Boga's inventory along with the salve.
Cardinal Lucius d'Borja |
Lucius has 2k worth of magic stuff, plus consumables gained through his traits.
Not much in other words...
But he does have a fancy house, entry to all the good parties, and a chance of becoming the most powerful priest on Earth - so there!
Johann Kaltgeboren |
Hey Lucius, how much gold? Because we just got 3k, so obviously you aren't adding something into your total. ???
Cardinal Lucius d'Borja |
I have 3K gold already, before including any of the stuff from this time through the catacombs - so about 5K total wealth.
Would be a lot more if Jesus had finished telling me about the million ducats... *grumble*

Hahahaha! The Lamb of God has a sense of humor, too, my beloved Lucius!

Meant to post this in Gameplay lol
Johann Kaltgeboren |
Lucius- didn't you receive red robes or cloak or something. MJ picked out something for everyone that first time.
(It's not sitting right with me that you have 0 items and only 5k gold. Seems like you should have significantly more.)
