8 days would put table 1 at the 15th of January, a Monday, two days behind table 2 in the timeline...they have done a lot of overland and sea voyaging that ate up lots of days...

The caster level of the headbands is 8 (that's not a caster level prerequisite for the creator, by the way), which means the Spellcraft DC to create each one is 5 + 8 = 13.
The magic item creation rules allow you to increase the DC by 5 and do twice as much work in the same amount of time:
Regardless of the time needed for construction, a caster can create no more than one magic item per day. This process can be accelerated to 4 hours of work per 1,000 gp in the item's base price (or fraction thereof) by increasing the DC to create the item by +5.
So if Quinlan can beat DC 18 then he can spend 2 days (8 hour work day) on each item and they'll be crafted. Looks like his Spellcraft skill modifier is +14, so he'd have no problem--take 10 for a result of 24, which beats the DC 18 required to create them in half time.

Which means he could complete them by midnight on Thor’s Day, the 11th...

Thanks Quin! +2 wisdom give me SO many things... +1 AC, +1 hour of shifter form, +1 damage from kraken style, plus all the normal pieces for wisdom.

happy to head back down into the catacombs! Thanks for the wrestling match, MJ.

Hey Mike, we haven't heard from you in a few days -- wanted to make sure you were good. We're meeting at your house tonight, 7:00 as usual -- and tomorrow night as well.
EDIT: And I see you haven't posted in your PbP in a couple days either -- let us know you're okay. We'll stop by your parents' place tonight to make sure.

Sorry to hear, MJ. Man, that sucks. Good luck on the search.

How do we want to split the treasure from the assassin?
My suggestions
potion of cure serious wounds - whoever has the fewest potions currently
+1 leather - sell
a telescopic +1 shortspear named Paisonpenisu, - sell
a mwk short sword (wakizashi), - sell
an amulet of natural armor +1 shaped like a tiny turtle shell on a leather cord, - zagathoth
a cloak of resistance +1, - Quinlan (I think I have the worst saves)
a ring of protection +1, - Johannunless anyone is interested in the armor/weapons.
Boga would like some of the cash from the sales for scrolls for the party (also pay back Lucius). Other than that, looks good.

Thank you, my friend. I am like Obi Wan Kenobi: when I am struck down by life, “I will become more powerful than you can possibly imagine!” ;-)

I hope in your case that this is true! Because, honestly, did Obi Wan get more powerful by getting struck down? He just popped up every once in a while to move the narrative along and that's about it.

Hehe! Good point...

But surely to become part of the plot is 'to be more powerful than you can possibly imagine'. He controlled everyone's actions for the next two films (and sequels!)

MJ, I'm so sorry, man, that really sucks.
Also, apologies to all for my silence recently. Memorial Day weekend was very busy for me.
I have settled on putting the Fox's 5th level in Unchained Rogue, with the Kitsune Trickster archetype (loses Trapfinding, gets to add INT mod to a few skill modifiers). This gives him 1d6 sneak attack, and then his 5th level feat is being spent on Accomplished Sneak Attacker to improve that to 2d6. All of a sudden, the Fox is a lot deadlier when he strikes a foe from a flanking position. =) The extra skill points are also being put to good use (Perception is now at max ranks and he's trained in Climb and Swim). This also gives Weapon Finesse for free; so when we have 5 days time, the Fox needs to retrain his 3rd level feat from Weapon Finesse to something else.
The Fox has the same spell list as Quinlan but at a slower progression, so I figure we're not hurt too bad by the class departure.

Since Johann goes before me, and Zag’s not used to fighting alongside a large creature, I’m going to wait to see what he does before I act at all.
Also, once he gets a feel for how combat goes with a bear I’m pretty sure he’s going to put some ranks in ride and look for an exotic saddle so he can ride Johann into battle...

I'm just waiting for MJ to get back and put up a pic of the battle map before I act. I hope he is rocking it out on the beaches of Mexico or somewhere cool

The Ogon Fox |

Fox would need to move across the 30-ft-square chamber and could therefore only attack once, for what it’s worth... Not that it matters since he missed both attacks anyway lol... Will post pic of battle mat soon...
Ah, these were ranged mystic bolts, not melee, which have a range of 30ft.

Oops! I’d better adjust the battle mat then... it makes more sense that you’d use ranged attacks than to run up to the 6 ghasts all by yourself lol...

hey MJ, don't forget that a grappled creature gets a -2 to attack. (that goes for the person grappling as well...), though I generally will let go of my grappled creature before attacking.

Right, thank you for reminding me.
Man, you guys are dropping these ghasts quick now that you are 5th level! Good teamwork synergy between beat-sticks and casters...

The Ogon Fox |

Yeah, I may have been a bit hasty with my third level spells.
I'm not so sure--we might not have been cleaning up these ghasts quite so hastily if it weren't for your spell.

![]() |

Now we can hastily defeat the demon descending on us...

![]() |

If everyone could pull back into the main room, we will have a better chance. I can't even get at him to attack!

Zagathoth |

Sorry, Johann-
Zag's barely used to fighting with teammates, let alone large ones... he probably would have needed someone to point out that tactic normally, now that the priest has encouraged him (and he's raging) he'll need a pretty stern instruction to back out.
