I've still been looking for an opportunity to take 5 days to retrain my duplicated Weapon Finesse feat. Any chance that time is now?
Actually, I could do with a refresher on the current date and what we know is approaching (mainly Wormwood's attack).

I assume the lightning sword is for Lucius? I'd have said it was for Arc tbh and Lucius doesn't care for it, so if anyone else wants it feel free!
Honestly, it was placed with both of you in mind, so if you’ll use it, take it. If not, sell and keep the gold or trade it for something else.
Boga
We should sell whatever we don't want to keep. Boga is interested in making scrolls while we prepare, so most of whatever share he gets (if any, that headband is pretty nice) will be put towards scrolls.

3 days from now is the attack, so there is no time for a long break of multiple days. So I suppose we'll just get our rest and go back in tomorrow?
Also, Boga, it looks like you'll only have time to write one scroll, and that if it's cheap enough to have a shorter time required:Creating an item requires 8 hours of work per 1,000 gp in the item's base price (or fraction thereof), with a minimum of at least 8 hours. Potions and scrolls are an exception to this rule; they can take as little as 2 hours to create (if their base price is 250 gp or less). Scrolls and potions whose base price is more than 250 gp, but less than 1,000 gp, take 8 hours to create, just like any other magic item. The character must spend the gold at the beginning of the construction process. Regardless of the time needed for construction, a caster can create no more than one magic item per day. This process can be accelerated to 4 hours of work per 1,000 gp in the item's base price (or fraction thereof) by increasing the DC to create the item by +5.

Johann is going on vacation this next week and plans to spend the hours getting massages by various wenches and drinking mead.
He'll be leaving on Friday and getting back July 29th... and there will be very little internet access!
Feel free to bot him with lots of bear grapples at +18 and maintenance at +25.
His primary rolls and damage are cut-and-pastable from the bear alias.

Actually a month and 3 days. Today is Jan 11; the attack is Feb 14. Sorry if I said Jan 14. It’s on Valentine’s Day.

Oh!! You definitely said that it was Valentine's/Feb 14, I just had it wrong in my head for some reason. I've been used to feeling a major urgency every other time that we've gone above ground.
I would definitely like to take some time, now. We can do something like cast Arcane Lock and have a guard posted on an appropriate point in the catacombs so that we can have some time without fear of letting evil slip out.
Boga
I believe we still need to determine the disposition of a couple magic items and valuable loot before we continue. If available funds are available, Boga would like some scribing supplies and other mundane items before we descend.
Boga
I know we need to sell some baubles and figure out what to do with a sword and dagger (anything else)? But do we want to take 5 days for crafting and retraining right now? Do we have time before the impending doom?
On the other hand, once we teleport, it is unknown when, if ever, we will have time for that again.
Opinions??
The Ogon Fox
We have a month and 3 days until Valentine's Day. Plus, the whole of the catacombs short of the teleport circle is now clear, so we're not leaving wandering undead that might come out of the catacombs. I think this is a great opportunity to take a little time.
Toshio Okumura
And besides, maybe we should be doing some hobnobbing above ground. The Church of Lucifer is not just monsters of terrible appearance below ground, but also the insidious traitors hiding in the midst of polite society and even, perhaps, in the clergy of our Lord's church.
This could be an opportunity to engage in some intrigue. I'm not referring to the Intrigue rules (unless you all are interested; I've never experienced or learned them), just challenges of a sort other than combat and dungeon delving.
The Ogon Fox
Also, this retraining will occupy me for 8 hours of the day (just like crafting does), but there's no reason the evenings can't be spent at social events trying to learn about dealings in the city.

Fox has the right of it - I think this is definitely the time, we have a deadline not too close and some actual money that we can use :)

*GM loading some RP intrigue opportunities...*
Bahaha for some reason now I'm picturing you as some kind of NES turned into a humanoid-shaped robot, pulling out one game cartridge and inserting another...

Squeeeeeeeee—whirrrrrrr-click! What do you mean, Player Character Ogon Fox? Lol
Zagathoth
Hey guys, sorry for the lull- I should be back to regular posting now.
Also, I'm uniquely ill suited for intrigue but I'm glad to tag along... and with my unusual upbringing and limited/slightly askew understanding of Christian ethics I'm alarmingly willing to cut down anyone the cardinal tells me to regardless of our location and situation...
Boga
I'm beginning to think we were safer in the catacombs!
Regarding the disposition of loot, errr, items collected in the catacombs, does anybody lay claim? Otherwise, I'd say Lucius would be best to sell the sword, dagger, and jewels (am I forgetting anything?). When we have the results of the transaction, we can distribute as we see fit.
The Ogon Fox
Yeah, I don't think I'll ever use the poison dagger. Never cared for poison, as a player.
Zagathoth wrote:In the morning Zagathoth seems both more chipper and less well rested than normal. After loading up a heaping plate of breakfast he sits down next to the healer. ”Guten morgan,” he says grinning widely, ”Der Vater sagte zu fragen Sie über Sex Krankheiten ...”
** spoiler omitted **
Boga shifts uncomfortably in his chair. His face reddens as he looks heavenward and crosses himself, "Mein Gott..." Slowly he turns and faces Zagathoth, "It is good that you come to me and ask these questions, but these things are best discussed in private, not at the breakfast table. Perhaps when we are done eating, you can join me in the library for a discussion?" Boga's visage is inquisitive and slightly pleading. "I must talk to the Cardinal about this. What has he gotten me into?"
Later, in the library (with the candlestick, lol)
After breakfast, Boga goes and sits in a comfortable chair in the library and waits for Zagathoth. He closes his eyes and contemplates his words. Once Zagathoth enters, he gestures towards a chair and says, "Come; have a seat."Boga clears his throat, "As I said before, it is good that you have come to me with this. I heard... we all heard your, ahh, activities of last night. As Lucius has obviously told you, certain afflictions can be passed during... such activities. It is important to pay attention to your health... down there, whenever you engage in such. If you notice any changes: redness, differences in sensation, texture, itching... really, any change at all, it may need medical attention. Let me know if any such thing happens. Questions?" He breathes a sigh as he gets all that out, "A sex talk with an Orc? Really!? The mysteries of the Lord are limitless..."
Bahahaha this is my favorite moment in the campaign, hands down.
The Ogon Fox
Leave it to me to forget an obvious action like sending your quick-flying, English-speaking, non-combat familiar to go get help.
Thanks, MJ. Hahaha.

Hey I'm back from vaca! Figure that it would make sense to present myself as willing to go to Fox's aid. Being his bodyguard seems to be my favorite activity.
The Ogon Fox
Alright I think I'm all caught up. Any crafting folks need done?
I would like either a headband for intelligence or a belt for dexterity if we have the time--I forget how quickly you made the one for yourself last time.
I'll probably prioritize Dexterity, actually. I don't tend to target saves as often as you do.
The Ogon Fox
Would any of us have noticed Johann's quick departure?
I think Orpheus would have alerted everyone he could get to in the house, not stopping just with Johann.
The Ogon Fox
four days for a +2
We're spending 5 days anyway on my feat retraining, so you can do one of these, at least. I'd be okay with making it 8 days downtime to get two of them done.
If we need to keep it to no more than the 5 days, then I'd say prioritize Lucius's wisdom boost over my dexterity. But we might appreciate having both in the dungeon to come.

Hey Everyone, I'm away for the next twelve days in Florida - going to Disney World for the first time!
I won't be able to check my games while I'm away so I'm on pause until the 10th (or possibly the 11th if I'm too jet-lagged!).
Please feel free to bot me as the situation requires! :)

Enjoy Florida, mate! I live in Bradenton, but that’s a 2 hr drive I think lol... I’d come over and meet you in person if it weren’t so far. I’ll bot ya, and hopefully we can meet in person at a con or something some day! :-)

Also, prepare to have a small novella to read when you return, knowing us!
We are up to almost 2,000 gameplay posts over 4 months—500 posts per month! I’m impressed with everyone’s commitment and continue to enjoy your RP and the way your choices and actions are unraveling an interesting story from my sandbox!
Michael Johnson 66
Oh, snap! My gameplay post was the 2,001st!
Awarding milestone bonus XP of 2,000 XP to each PC. Yes, that’s a huge amount at 6th level just for essentially not quitting, but 2,000 posts in 4 months with everyone pretty much equally committed to posting regularly deserves a big reward in my opinion...
Will tally grand totals momentarily... I AM supposed to be working after all lol

Hey all--
I'm about to leave town on a very long weekend, and I tend not to get much chance (if any) to post when I'm away from home like this. I'll return Monday and will get a post up then, at latest.
