Casting: When casting a spell defensivly if you fail you do not automaticly lose the spell, rather you provoke an attack as you normally would for not casting defensive. If you are hit you must make a concentration check dc 10+damage taken if you fail this check you lose the spell.
Rolls:
Many rolls will be handled by the GM in secret.(don't worry, I don't fudge.)
Any result that can influence the character behavior will not be rolled open.
Rolls that will be handled by the GM:
Perception
Sense Motive.
if you make the check I will send you a pm or make a post and put it in a spoiler depending on the situation.
Sometimes I will roll Initiative others I will ask you to roll depending on the situation. In some situation (rarely) I will bypass init entirely and have you all go first and enemies second or have enemies go first and you all go after.
Combat rules:
I'm a fair GM, I dont roll combat in secret, I don't change results, I don't ignore bad calls from the characters.
Sometimes, character dies, but I'm not a player killer, if I think that an encounter will be easy handled, when it should be more challenging, I will make it a more challenging, if the party it's not prepared to face something, I will drop hints, if they insist... well killing one or two players never made me lack sleep...
Actions:
I'm a GM that do not punish the character for trying something new or cool, or even strange. Visual appealing actions are encouraged, the dc will of course depend on what are you trying, but you can try! If what you want to do is wicked cool, I can even bend the game mechanics to allow it! The most importat part is: You are villains. Villains are smart, resourceful and have style! Have you ever seen a memorable villain that could just swing his sword and do nothing more?
Posting Rate
If it could be done, I expect 1/day posting, if you can post more, it will really good.
During weekend, this rule does not apply. If you are able to post, great! But dont stress over this, everyone need some time to rest (In my case, I need time to play and DM :D on my tabletop games).
Level up
Aside from character creation, when you level up, if you want something not from core rulebook, you'll need to search it inside the game. basicly what you need to do is just show in game your character is searching for that knowledge. This rule is not meant to prohibit anything, I just don't like something like this: "Character always as a full caster, never picked up a sword in his entire life, and then he gain a new level and says: Master, I'll level up as a fighter now..."

I might need some help to understand my options. First Tzad has the grappled condition, right? Second he cannot breath and is under the following conditions: Suffocation
A character who has no air to breathe can hold her breath for 2 rounds per point of Constitution. If a character takes a standard or full-round action, the remaining duration that the character can hold her breath is reduced by 1 round. After this period of time, the character must make a DC 10 Constitution check in order to continue holding her breath. The check must be repeated each round, with the DC increasing by +1 for each previous success.
When the character fails one of these Constitution checks, she begins to suffocate. In the first round, she falls unconscious (0 hit points). In the following round, she drops to –1 hit points and is dying. In the third round, she suffocates.
So he cannot breath and is grappled. I believe he can channel with no problem, right? What about speak? Can he cast a spell with a verbal component? Does it matter if its an immediate action spell Like Liberating Command?
What if he wants to cast Freedom of Movement? Concentration check, or does he have to win a grapple check? If he can win a grapple check he could simply escape.
And finally what about Energy Body ability It does not breath so that is a temp out.
Alright so here you have two conditions to deal with.
The only spells which can be cast while grappling or pinned are those without somatic components and whose material components (if any) you have in hand. Even so, you must make a concentration check (DC 10 + the grappler’s CMB + the level of the spell you’re casting) or lose the spell.
The other factor is the fact that you cant speak due to suffocation. Meaning you cant cast anything with verbal components as well.
Energy body would free you from the grapple as you become pure energy you cannot be held.
My girlfriend's mother passed away yesterday morning from a heart attack after a battle with cancer that lasted seven months I will be too busy to post for a few days I think.

I wanted to give a heads up that I will be on vacation and traveling through central Europe from May 9-May 25. I'll be able to post some while traveling but will have to do so from my phone or iPad. So please bot me if required and know that I'll post when I can.

Roll20 works quite well, I think. I am playing in two different games in which the GM uses it and I like it. I haven't taken the time to learn it myself for my games, but have thought about doing so (if I ever find the time).
My real life group and I haven't been able to get together and play in like 2 months so they are trying to convince me to use that to do it.
Been looking into not sure how I am going to load maps in there and such I might have to try finding a premade campaing for it but they all seem to be dnd 5th edition (yuck)

I am going TDY for a few day for work and then directly to Dragon Con for the weekend. I'll have my laptop and will try to keep up through Thursday but after that my time will likely be eaten by the con. Will be home late Monday September 4. Bot me as needed.

Hi all. I am back from my work trip and con. Pretty exhausted (very little sleep at cons for me) and catching up on everything. I hope to have a post up soon. I have a short trip this weekend too and will be gone Friday through Sunday afternoon. But then that's it for trips for a while.
Where are we at in this game. I am unsure who is up. It seems like its up to our casters to take out the swarms. Staying close to Tzad will at least prevent the vermin from approaching.

I need to apologize to the other players here. I've been overseas every other week for work since July. I was hoping to be able to keep up with the game but didn't even have the energy to check my personal email for the past few months. That part phase of the project is done now and I am back to a normal schedule again starting this week.

I had voted. Basically I said not the spider as its less likely to come out of its protective webs to join a fight. Closest seems to be the demon just north of us. We are not likely to sneak past it anyway. Hag looks hardest to get to. Lets do that big demon.

I say the closest. My studies are of religions, not of the planes. Better to ask our wizard. I would guess that the creature in the webs will be reluctant to leave them and the advantage they provide, so perhaps leave that one for last.

I feel your pain man; every DM feels it sooner or later.
If a break is needed, you gotta take it. You can't let scheduling demands poison the enjoyment of the game.
