I still find it funny that even though I said it would take me more than an hour to finish those spoilers, it took me 59 minutes and 6 seconds. I giggled.

Still, I do believe you're right.

It is going to be very hard. I have read most of everyone's submission and I have so many close picks that it's going to be very difficult.

I want everyone to know that I loved reading all your submissions and if I had the time and energy, I would split this off into two or three campaigns so I could take everyone. Unfortunately it can only be one

If it's anything like the last time GM Tierce ran RotRL, it will be.

I personally enjoyed Gilly's.

suck up, but thank you.

I regret to say that Flit will not be returning as an NPC

Dare I ask who this "Flit" was? Sorry if I'm circling this recruitment thread like a vulture. I've literally got nothing better to occupy my time with. (Not that this isn't great.)

Flit was a surprise NPC, he was a goblin pathfinder that arrived in Sandpoint the day before the Shallowtail Festival and caused a lot of reaction. Even fought off an assassination attempt from one of the townsfolk

NP GM Tierce just the way the board works around here. You do what you can. ;)

Consider adding their respective alignments as well, if you find yourself not so busy.

P.S Aergo Mavis is CN.

Not really my intention, just telling the truth.

Sorry to hear Flit won't return, he was fun.

Ask for alignments and you got them, at least those I could find. ;P

A special part of me likes the fact I'm 1 of only 2 Chaotic Neutrals.

Depending on how the adventure goes and the party interaction, Barek may head into Paladin territory at some point. Or he might not and just say a brawler with a conscience. His path is open-ended.

Same here concerning N, but I remind you the GM wanted to avoid CN. But I dare say that's more a certain play style then blanket on the alignment. x3

ok... I can only imagine Noro and Barek in the same party...

looking at back story they are a perfect match...

Ah, I seem to have forgotten Boledir's NG alignment. Please put it in your next list if you wouldn't mind Zoruk.

On occasion, when there are plenty of good submissions, one brave soul sometimes will step forward and GM their own group. But regardless twenty some entries for just a few spots is pretty low of an opportunity, especially when including returning favorites, but I enjoyed the exercise. And someone has to be chosen, it could be any one of us.

Well I would really like to get to know some of these characters. I hope I can learn to format Nathaniel character sheet (the alternate page) as well as some of you do. It looks intimidating, but I am going to give it a try.

I find it best not to think about it and just enjoy the process. Then again I have yet to get into a RotRL AP. So not the best source of advice. xP

Plus sense others did it and I was a little bored. More info on Zoruk. Format shamelessly stolen. ;)

Zoruk's Concept:

1) Zoruk is steeped in knowledge both from his parents and his apprenticeship. In fact his former master was unaware of his understanding of ancient thassilonian magic which granted him such abilities over his chosen school.

2) From his earliest memories Zoruk has had an internal drive to know more of the past, to rediscover and learn form or of it. Along with a sense of righting ancient wrongs, not in a moral sense but rather a sense of balance.

3) Zoruk is greatly devout concerning the worship of Nethys. That such a land full of ancient magic has little to no place for the god is not lost upon him. It is something he would very much like to see change.

4) Zoruk tends to stay to his own affairs and what concerns him. He see's the current Varisia as a divided land that stands alone, as such he does the same. He owes loyality only to those who give it in turn until the point they no longer do so. So far he has kept this policy with people as well.

5) Zoruk has no real home, his current stay in Sandpoint may last longer or not. But he does have consider it a good place with good people for the most part. Something only some among the Varisian caravans have managed to gain from him and none of the major cities have.

Zoruk's Goals:

1) Zoruk wants to make a truely major discovery, as well as learn as much as he can of the ancient empire that was Thassilon. Both for himself and to honor the memory of his parents.

2) Being the knowledge center is always helpful, along with spell support, and some crafting thown in. Also I would like Zoruk to develop into a modern day runelord but one that champions his chosen virtue of rule rather then sin. Or considering he is N just being a runelord is enough, for now. Getting his own tower is also high on the list, happy to share with party. ;P

Zoruk's Secrets:

1) Zoruk has his parents rather detailed knowledge of ancient ruins in Varisia. Not feeling he is yet prepared in terms of power or resources he has yet to visit most of them.

2) Zoruk is unaware that the magic he practices is the same from the height of Thassilon. Considering it only to be his own personal method of spellcasting. In an attempt to copy the legends of those ancient times.

Zoruk's People:

1) Brodert Quink is good friends with Zoruk, as both share a love of knowledge and have a great interest in Thassilon. They normally bounce thories and ideas off each other yet Zoruk has kept a good deal of his own knowledge to himself, as his major source is his parents knowledge.

2) Ilsoari Gandethus is another friend, mostly due to Zoruk offering to help with the children from time to time. The older wizard is also somewhat of a mentor to Zoruk as he has survived his own share of adventures with both the skill and collection to prove it.

3) Niska "Madame" Mvashti is surprisingly hostile to Zoruk, considering it the manners of an old lady trapped in her ways Zoruk mostly disregards it. The truth is Madame Mvashti had a vision concerning Zoruk, yet in times when prophecies no longer hold the power they once did. She expects only the worse to come from Zoruk's fate, that his is tied to something of great importance only causes her more worry.

Zoruk's Quirks:

1) Zoruk is secretive, he tends to keep knowledge to himself if it is not important. As he has lived with the results of careless knowledge, such as the death of his parents.

2) He has a strong sense of survival, as such he does not give a second thought to morality when threatened. Using the most effective if not moral course of action.

3) Zoruk is slow to trust with a long memory but once he does he is a loyal ally. He gives his all to protect an ally or their cause and only gives more when dealing with a betrayer or enemy.

Of course this could be enough incentive for me to buy the anniversary edition and run it, here, myself.

I loved the anniversary edition so much that I bought it twice, PDF and Hardcover as I wasn't smart enough to pre-order it and get both for the price of one!

You monster. Who would dare steal from Gilly.

Updated some of mord's backstory. Man their are a lot of neat submissions here.

I'm happy to see the 10 minute background thing is taking off! Haha. I didn't invent it.

I stole it from Twilsemail. Google tells me its something that has spread around lots of RPing communities from ... somewhere!

It's a very handy method that really gets the point across. I'll probably use it frequently in the future. Kudos.

May I use it as well, please kind lady?

Of course! That's what its for!

I have now reviewed all the submissions and I have to say that they are all excellent. I only wish some of you were in Toronto so you could come play in my RL game of Rise.

With that being said, new submissions are now closed.

Also, going to have a little fun exercise. As a lot of applications are really close I want to get an idea of your roleplaying style and how you interact with other players. So the discussion thread is now open for all applicants to go in and take part in an in character event that takes place the night before the Shallowtail festival.

So have at it, and have fun!

I suggest the rusty dragon as the setting. That being said I will now start on my post. Which will be up shortly. xP

Rusty Dragon is the setting :P

May I ask a question? Is there a resource that lists the campaign specific Traits that can be accessed for free? I have not selected one yet. I have been trying to make the character sheet look more useful. I hope it is done well.

Yes sir, there is the player's guide.

Guide

Fixed cause the GM screamed at me. xD

wrong thread!

Alright their is a edit button you know. Geez. ;P

Downloaded to my touchpad, and searching for the goods now, thank you.

*completely deletes what he had been writing seeing as how 20 something posts popped even as he was typing. Tries again.*

I've been selected for another game so will withdraw my submission. Have fun, all, and thanks for giving us this chance, GMT.

Finished review of traits from the player's guide, and I do not see one that I like or that fits the character, so I'll pass on the second trait if that is acceptable, thanks

Looks like the style and pace is over my head, so thank you, but I'll take this oportunity to bow out.

Thanks for applying, enjoyed reading your submission

The pace will slow down when it actually starts and there aren't like... 20 people posting in a thread.

That is very true, I will only be posting once per day at that point

In the meantime... MADNESS!

I'm actually rather enjoying this bit of chaos. It's not that hard to get around.

I'm just waiting on someone to go unconscious.

Back in the day I could have kept up, but a 12 hr shift yesterday and another 7 hrs this morning only let me post once so far.

Not to worry, posting speed has no barring on if your chosen. I just need to see your style. In fact a tie breaker for one of the spots was decided by a single post.

at work, so really cant take the time to do a 'thoughtful post' by Keth in the discussion area, but eagerly awaiting the 'choosing' lol

*reads through again to figure out who only posted once*

Wait... that still doesn't tell me anything. They might have NOT been chosen because of that post. The suspense!
