Agreed. The worst part of sailing this ship will be combat, where someone will have to spend a move action every turn to keep the ship moving safely. That would be a big detriment to any of us. I think the First Mate ought to serve alright. Is it possible to buy a Masterwork Tool for Profession (Sailor) for 50g and provide it to him or her? I'll pay for it if so.

![]() |

I'll pitch in for hiring a crew.

![]() |

Given everybody's feedback, we're hiring a Captain for our vessel. It means at least 7 x 10 = 70g (not sure how many we are now, but 5 people = 14g/day, 6 people = 11.7g/day).
As they leave the meeting in agreement and after scheduling their next meeting, Duskin goes to hire a Captain for the vessel.

I think a first mate might be easier on the purses of the lower - level PCs.

12 days to travel the Shaguang stretch of the river, during which time your journey is for the most part peaceful and uneventful.
The river slows as it leaves the sandy highlands and winds its way between the rolling hills of this dry, grassy basin. The breeze that blows from the north is dusty and warm, and a thicket of short gnarled trees lines the shore.
Most of you are able to hear, or sense, the band of Mutabi-qi raiders as they get ready to attack the boat and it's passengers.

While on the river, Kasei spends most of his time admiring the view -- both of the riverbanks, and his teammates. He carefully sharpens both his Katana and his Wakizashi, and makes sure to oil and restring his bow daily.
When he hears the hoofbeats coming over the hills, he draws his bow, looking around from his position at the stern of the junk near the captain. "Keep down, Captain-san, I hear someone coming!"

Duskin is distracted with the entire travel. He enjoys the shores and the feeling of freedom that navigating brings - much better than his times as a slave.
He isn't too distracted, though, to notice the ambush. He pulls his Shortbow and quickly drops prone to hide from the attack from the Mutabi-qi.
Ambush! Prepare yourselves! - he says, right after Kasei calms the captain.
Surprise round action to pull the bow, free action to drop prone - hoping to gain cover from it, besides making ranged attacks more difficult against him.

The borderless one. I kinda assumed he was the leader since you used your icon for him. ^_^ (Also because he took 13 damage and wasn't dead.)

True, but your character doesn't see them as goblins or me. :3 and he just know that he is hit with a arrow and continued to fight. Currently, you are 60 feet away from the "leader" and 50 feet away from Pink. Who would Kuwabara aim for?

The same one he hit earlier. No reason to stop focusing his fire, especially when the range is still within 1 range increment either way, and is not within 30 ft for point-blank shot.
