I agree, if there's still daylight to burn, I can travel, but if it's pushing into dark the base of a cliff isn't a bad place to camp. I'll take any watch. We should split the humans up to pair with someone who has darkvision.

Duskin smiles and eats, hungry. Then he prepares to set camp with the others - having his eyes trained for the dark, he offers himself for the darkest shifts.

I can be in this and this shift... - pointed to the drawings in the dusty ground - ... Although usually I need sequential hours for my rest, I feel my arcane resources are intact, so it shouldn't be a problem. However, I'd suggest someone perceptive to be in the shift with me.

The valley ends in a high rock wall. A large crack, forty feet up the wall, looks large enough to allow an adult human through. Several small cracks and holes dot the entire surface of the rock wall. A rock overhang, ten feet above the gash, acts as a natural roof, sheltering the immediate area from the elements.

The cliff stretches 40 feet and you are required to climb it. To climb, i need a climb check of 15 Rolled please

When Jones falls flat after climbing, Kasei sighs, pulls out his wand, and heals his fellow Silver Crusader.

1d8 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5

"Unnecessary haste makes fools of us all, my friend. Let us consider the matter in more detail first. I have a climbing kit. I have no training in climbing, but I understand how to use it. I suspect you would find it much easier to climb with your armor removed and using the kit. Let me put a spell of protection on you, in case something should happen, such as the Yeti we have heard of attacking. It occurs to me this would be a fine location for an ambush, and you should have at least some protection if you are removing your armor."

Kasei will use a scroll of Shield of Faith on Jones (or whoever's climbing without armor, himself if necessary) and use of his climbing kit. Kit provides +2 to climbing. Jones with armor removed has a +5 to climbing, apparently. Kasei has a +3. Does anyone have higher?

I have a -2. Gudrun might be the best climber with the kit. I have a rope which I can lend also if it helps us, but with my climb check, I believe I'll have to be tied to the rope and pulled, lol :) Sorry guys, weak and small arcane caster here. At least I don't have an ACP...

Don't discount yourself Duskin, if the rope is knotted, the DC is only 0. You have a higher chance of success.

Once the rope is there, the DC is only 5, so you could take 10 for 7, as long as we don't get into combat or something.

As part of getting out his climbing kit, Kasei also pulls out a 50 ft rope of black silk.

Kasei looks through his kit and shakes his head. "The man I bought this from in Goka said a grapple was useless in the mountains, as there's no way to be sure there's something for it to catch on." Kasei starts knotting the rope, to make it easier to climb. I don't know how long tying knots in the rope will take, but unless something should happen to cause us to need to rush, I'll go ahead and knot the rope. Maybe others could help.

so, I am taking it that someone will climb the cliff, once he is at the top, he'll tie off the rope and the first person will start to climb the rope. A new person will get on the rope and climb up stating two rounds later. It will be only 2 people on the rope at any given time. The rope, unknotted, will be a climb cd of 5, rolled, a knotted rope will be a DC of 0, take10 is okay for the lower DC. Any questions? If no, who will climb up the cliff and who will use the rope after he ties it off?

Gudrun chuckles to himself, watching his allies attempting to climb the wall. As he does he shrugs off his chain shirt, stuffing it in his backpack and pulling out his own climbing kit.

"I suspect this is why I was brought along. Can one of you bring my bag up with you?"

Gudrun throws the rope over his sholder and begins his ascent.

Without my armor and with a climbers kit I'm adding +8.

Jones grabs Gudrun's Backpack and makes his way up the rope. Using the climbing rolls from before . . . 9, 5, 3 (no Progress), 18, 7

Upon reaching the top, Jones hands Gudrun's Backpack to him.

"Well done." Pointing to the spot Jones and Gudrun slipped, and Jones stalled again, "That spot is a little trickier than it looks."

Jones will pull out his crossbow and keep a watchful eye from above for any attackers while the others climb up.

Just before Gudrun started climbing, Kasei cast Shield of Faith on him in case anything happened to attack while he was getting up there. The samurai keeps a watchful eye out below, gesturing to Duskin or Saarai to go next.

Okay, Gudrun heads up first, followed by Jones, then Duskin, Saarai and Kuwabara. After Gudran is up at the top it will take two rounds for the next one to be there.

Everyone sees Gudrun go into the tunnel and he ties off the rope.

Unless I'm mistaken, deflection bonuses apply to flat-footed and touch AC, don't they? In that case the attack should miss, as Shield of Faith adds a +2 deflection bonus.

Sorry, didn't remember that you had buffs. Next time, please update your mini-status that strikes out your normal DC and have a temp followed by your buff AC, same for health and important information. Jones, with a double move, you'll be moving your normal speed up the cliff. It will put you 30 feet up, You'll still have to climb into the tunnle, but you can act after that. Unlike normal when you would end your second turn just climbing up onto the ledge.

0kay, Gudrun heads up first, followed by Jones, then Duskin, Saarai and Kuwabara. After Gudran is up at the top it will take two rounds for the next one to be there.and two for the next one and so on.

I'll need a climb check (25) to catch the wall as where the rope was tied too was not sturdy enough to hold three people at once.

The cave fisher sees that his prey has climbed into his hiding space. technology, he gets an AoO, but he didn't take it.
