The lid of the sarcophagus is on the ground and was blocking the door. Inside the the sarcophagus you see the corpse of an orc warrior and in the corner of the room you notice a pile of bones. Most likely the original occupant.

Male Human Fighter, 2 | HP: 16/17 | AC: 19/13/16 | Fort: +5 | Ref: + 2 | Will: +2 | Init: +2 | Percept: +2 |

for real I wanna take that chain shirt (min hates his -4 armor chck penalty). Is anyone opposed? It looks like a nice bow is also up for grabs

more dead Orc... This one must hve been important to be lain in here... But what to make from this elf... Any thoughts ronin?

(?)

"Now hold on just one giant sundew sticky goo of death moment there, Maximus. That Chain Shirt is probably much too small for a big handsome man like you. It’s on a dead elf for cricket’s sake. And what in the world of Hamth is that pigface man doing in the sarcofo, scarfocafi, sarcofica, dead body holding box anyway? Look at those bones in the corner. No, not my boobs, those bones in the corner, Cricket, get your eyes up for a change man. I’ll bet gold pieces to peach fritters that those bones belong in the scarfogificofa, ah hell, the dead guy holding box."

Wags takes a step closer to the dead guy holding box, and looks down at the elf on the ground.

"Now a guy like me, you know, slim and wiry, would look a lot better in that chain than you would."

Aoi thinks to himself for a moment, he knew he'd never been in the cave before, but the orc did seem familiar......
knowledge (local) 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (7) + 1 = 8

Cleric, 2 | HP: +14/16 | AC: 15/11/14 | Fort: +4 | Ref: + 1 | Will: +7 | Init: +1 | Percept: +6 |

Go for it, you can have the shirt, or wag, ill let you guys decide that one ;)

"The dead guy holding box?" Stonz gives a chuckle to himself.
First thing Stonz does is look up at the roof after that last attack Perception check: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (6) + 5 = 11 he then casts resistance on himself and goes over and inspects the dead guy holding box, taking a look at the orc inside.

You know the orc in the tomb must have been important but you do not know who it is. For such a place of honor he must have been one of their best warrior or a chieftain.

Male Human Fighter, 2 | HP: 16/17 | AC: 19/13/16 | Fort: +5 | Ref: + 2 | Will: +2 | Init: +2 | Percept: +2 |

Well I guess wags can take the chain if it reeeeeeeally wants it... Is there any other loot around this room?

perception: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5

Looking into the tomb you find a masterwork warhammer that no doubt belonged to this orc. Nothing else of value or hints as to who this is can be found searching him.

(?)

"Yippi Skippi! You're the best Maximus," Wags skips about and then rushes Maximus trying to give him a hug and a kiss on the cheek.

"Ewww. Does that mean I have to take it of the dead elf? Creepy bobeeky."

I suppose I'll fire up a Detect Magic cantrip, with a little song, and check the body for any magical auras, and hope there isn't some kind of trap or curse. Then when I've learned all I can, I'll strip the chain shirt off of the dead elf, and see if it will fit me.

Detect magic Song

Misty morning, clouds in the sky
Without warning, a wizard walks by
Casting his shadow, weaving first level spells
Funny clothes, tinkling bell

Always talking
Just keeps Singing
Spreading the magic

Evil powers disappear
Demons worry when Waglinde is near
Show me the mysteries hiding with glow
Everyone's happy, Waglinde is here

Always talking
sweetly singing
Sharing the magic

Sun is shining, clouds have gone by
All the people give a happy sigh

The chain shirt doesn't radiate magic but his arrows and his cloak do.

(?)

and right now I'm the only one who knows that, right?

"I've alwasy wanted to take up the bow, you know like that super heroic lady, Arrowgal McShootie. Um, can I have the Bow and arrows too?"

Masterwork Composite Longbow with a +1 str modifier (made of darkwood so only half the weight of a regular bow)

There are only 3 arrows left in his quiver however.

The cloak is green but seems to deflect light and blend it's color to match it's surrounding.

Male Human Fighter, 2 | HP: 16/17 | AC: 19/13/16 | Fort: +5 | Ref: + 2 | Will: +2 | Init: +2 | Percept: +2 |

everytime I ever try to hit something with them bows... The damned things always break. Bah! Take it.

When you take his armor off a piece of rolled parchment falls out of his pocket.

The note reads:
Ferantis, please wait for me at the Drake. I have matters to attend to in the south.

PS. Sorry to use the map, but Myonga has a copy anyway

Roland

On the back of the paper is a hand-drawn map.
I posted a copy of the map in the google docs.

Roland is the innkeeper correct?

No the Innkeeper was named Gil Stenker. Also the name of the Inn was the Lonesome Drake

Sputnikk goes back outside to read the symbols above the door, then returns to the group. eh hem! I just did a little thinking and after rereading the symbols above, I believe this is an ancient Azlanti tomb for one of their warrior fallen in combat, which would explain the items he's been buried with.

Male Tiefling Alchemist 2 HP 20/20, AC 18(20), Init: +5, Saves: F+4, R +5, W +0

Xarol notices an odd glint to the cloak. "Hold one second there Wagalinde, I think there might be something wrong with that cloak. Let me see..."

Spellcraft to ID1d20 + 8 ⇒ (15) + 8 = 23

Although this is the first time you see one you've heard these cloaks of elvenkind that aid the wearer at remaining hidden. (+5 stealth to wearer)

i wonder if the Orc chief's hammer here will come in handy... Hmmm

Min will pick it up and take a peeksie, with a glint in his eye, as he is very fond of loot, and big hammers.

Male Human Fighter, 2 | HP: 16/17 | AC: 19/13/16 | Fort: +5 | Ref: + 2 | Will: +2 | Init: +2 | Percept: +2 |

you all reckon that the drake in this note is the inn we was at? Hmmm... Then that means a lake is nearby? And an Orc camp... Hmm... Odd. I wonder how old this here note is... Maybe ol Stenker the Inn Keeper knows these people?

Xarol hears Maximus's comments and pauses for a moment. "That doesn't seem likely. Almost absurd, however, we can ask the owner if he knows anything."

Xarol studies the map. Knowledge check? Intelligence check to decipher?

(?)

I take off the top half of my studded leather armor, discarding it (let's say shedding 10 pounds of gear) and put on the Chain Shirt, adding 25 pounds of gear.

"Woof, boys and gurls That's a heavy shirt. What do you guys think? Does this chain shirt make me look fat?"

It would be edible yes. You could eat it raw or grilled.

(?)

after overhearing some of the discussion about the dead monsters on the ground

I reach into my shoulder sack and take out 5 gold coins,

"I'll give the first one who does it, five bucks, to take a bite, chew it up and swallow it."

I then smile and taunt everyone

Cleric, 2 | HP: +14/16 | AC: 15/11/14 | Fort: +4 | Ref: + 1 | Will: +7 | Init: +1 | Percept: +6 |

Stonz reaches down, rips off a chunk of tentacle, then gingerly and with his eyes closed tight places it in his mouth. Chewing on it for a few minutes (as it seems quite chewy and rubbery) he then swallows it with a painful look on his face. "Blargh! There, its down, actually it wasn't all that bad... You want to try some?"

You owe Stonz's greed 5 gp ^_-

Male Tiefling Alchemist 2 HP 20/20, AC 18(20), Init: +5, Saves: F+4, R +5, W +0

Xarol shudders at the display of... intestinal fortitude. "You could have picked the one that I killed with fire. It would have at least been cooked!" He says to Stonz.

These people are a little crazy. But then again if we weren't, we wouldn't be adventurers I suppose!

After climbing back up the rope and huffing and puffing, Xarol helps the others and makes sure to pull up the rope after them. "Wouldn't want to make it easier to get back up than we have to, should we?"

You climb back up and make your way back to the inn. A man is waiting at the door and quickly goes to inform the Innkeeper of your arrival.

"Ah your back! How did it go? Is it safe?"

"aweeeeesssoooommmmeeeee"

Hands Gil a whole tentacle of the beast.

Fry that sucker up for us, I'm hungry and Moon-Moon don't eat nothin' raw

"You couldn't fix it? What do you mean?...Err What is this?" he says looking at the tentacle.

Dinner! C'mon we'll tell ya all about it over a good meal

(?)

Striding forward the confidence of having opened no less than seven revues and four hit plays, I put one shoulder forward and say,

”I am Waglinde Howard Claire, sir, and this is what we have discovered. There are numerous passageways below your tavern. Some of those passageways are dangerous, filled with horrors unimaginable,” as I say this, I bring my hands in front of my face, hunch over and wriggle my fingers ”With nasty crawling death on many hairy skittering legs of DOOM!”

I relax my posture and try to pull the string on my new bow while striking a dramatic pose, but because I am untrained, I accidently let go of the bow and it rebounds, not too forcefully, against my chest and face.

”Oh, yeah, also” I say once I have recovered my dignity, ”There’s also a huge cavern with graves of thousands of dead orcs, and some really hard to open chambers one of which had a seriously defiled sarcrofanat, sancrosycro, scoromaticaal, ah poop, a dead guy holding box, you know the kind made out of stone."

Male Human Fighter, 2 | HP: 16/17 | AC: 19/13/16 | Fort: +5 | Ref: + 2 | Will: +2 | Init: +2 | Percept: +2 |

Min swaggers up to the bar.

Mate, that door fell off. I don't know what happened. Some muscular fella must have ripped it out its hinges or something... anyways. What can you make of this here note...

lol! Oops... Min sometimes accidentally shifts in and out of this world... To rule another!

Min you look suddenly more rouge like and less fighter-y Almost as if you would be a god in another plane

*knocks on fourth wall*
Then Min shifts back to his former self

Huh, musta been my imagination

I assume we are eating at a table by this point

Aoi grabs a hefty piece of BBQ tentacle and rips a piece off for Moon-Moon.

She sniffs it, grabs it and goes off to eat in private.

Aoi takes a big bite and then starts talking while eating

MMmm der es shum grd crookin'! *gulp* So as Wagalinde was sayin' we fought a lot of danger in your basement. Passageways that go fer miles. Spiders in the gallons *takes a bit* Arnd drees brig tentercrle treengs *points to the tentacle then swallos his food*. All en all I'm havin' fun. *chugs down his cup of mead* MORE MEAD IF YA DON'T MIND! *bangs his cup on the table*

"Aye, as they say. An' it were a comp'ny o' dead orc's well. Ye e'er heered o' such a thing 'round here? Mebbe there be another entrance nearby what got them orc s down there. In any case, while me companions here might need t' rest an' recover spells an' such, I'll take me turn sittin' at yer broken door t' make sure nothin' untowards come up an eats ye and yer customers. "What we found? We found spiders and natural predators of the caverns. Nothing more. No need to be alarmed by that, though. We did find a library down there, first right you see. Tunnels a little collapsed, so once you manage to get it dug out a bit I suggest you go and take a look-see. Might be something of value in it. Xarol and Sputnikk can tell you more about that. Other side of the tunnel was a grave of some sort. parently an orc tribes burial ground. Lots of offshoots going out of that one, an I doubt they all came in through your tavern here so there is probably another exit elsewheres. It is here we should go looking, an I intend to go back down there after a few days rest."
Stonz makes no mention of the map, nor of the "vault" he saw on it, choosing to keep silent about that part of it.

Can I retcon a little here? While we were still down in the graveyard I had wanted to say that I could disipher the map when we got back and I could regain my spells for the day and cast comprehend languages. If that is ok, would it be alright if I am holding onto the map now?

Also, I laugh hard every time I see the dead guy holding box XD and this "god" Min? Sounds like a story behind that one ;)

"I believe that there may be a large hidden area underneath in the catacombs underneath your tavern. There seem to be a large number of things of archeological significance, and we shall need to rest here and then return to the depths to clear out any further dangers."

lol, i accidentally posted as another alias at first, which is game mastering another campaign on here ;P Hence, Min becoming a god.

Min smacks away at the grilled tentacle.

Mr. Stenker, I believe some of your strongest drink is in order! And where are the girls!? Are there any pretty young things about here?

Male (Ace) Half-Orc Samurai 2 HP: 10/17 AC: 15 Movement: 20ft with BAB +2 Fort +5, Reflex +0, Will +1, Perception +5, Initiative +0

Puts his arm around Min

HAHA This man knows what we need! Waglinde! If you wouldn't mind a triumphant song of drinks, wenches and good friends!

And more Mead!!!

Knocks his tankard on the table like a javel of decree.

The map is in common there is nothing to translate. You mean the journal?

Having listened to your tale the Innkeeper is a bit pale.

"I'm afraid I don't have what you're looking for. The only serving girls here are my two daughters and sometimes my son likes to help although being only seven winters old he is a bit young to be working. However if that tunnel leads to orc or monster infested caverns then I need to get it closed up as soon as possible, my bouncer is used to dealing with drunk if something dangerous were to come up...I will speak to the lord mayor tomorrow about getting this tunnel sealed up."

Male Human Fighter, 2 | HP: 16/17 | AC: 19/13/16 | Fort: +5 | Ref: + 2 | Will: +2 | Init: +2 | Percept: +2 |

seal the tunnel? With all them riches down there?? We can clear out the nasty for ya, and then see what's what down there!... Now about these daughters...

"Well if you can keep guards on the door at all times I would be willing to let you stay here and use this place as your resting place as you explore but if you cant guard it at all times you will simply need to find another entrance to these caverns."
