Apologies to those who have been waiting for an 'official' announcement but unlimited player signups for PbP Gameday VIII are now open. This means that you may sign up to play as many games as you think you can handle*. That said, please take care to be responsible and avoid signing up for more than you can reasonably keep up with as it can become quite the burden on your fellow GMs and players to have people dropping out mid-game.
You can find the signup spreadsheet for games here.
Enjoy and Happy Gaming!
______________
*Though SFS #2-00 Fate of the Scoured God may be played for credit once in each tier, we are currently restricting players to one signup for Gameday. We plan to offer this particular special again in the not-too-distant future and would rather not see the majority of our SFS players burn through their opportunities to play it all in one shot.

Cross-posting to make sure everyone gets the word.
Hey GMs --
We regret to tell you that we have to cancel SFS 2-00 for PBP Gameday. We are rescheduling it for Outpost III in March 2020.
HILARY, WHY ARE YOU DOING THIS?
We had some unhappy news regarding the SFS 2-00 special today. The OPF leadership team told me today that they want to reserve new specials to the face-to-face conventions for the first six months. This is to help local conventions fill their tables for specials.
Although this is profoundly disappointing, I know that we will have a great run of SFS 2-00 at Outpost III. Also, we online GMs want the local conventions to have their chance to be great too.
HILARY, I PLANNED ON RUNNING 2-00! WHAT DO I RUN NOW?
The good news is that I negotiated with Tonya to allow us to resubmit our scenario support request. If you were running 2-00, please resubmit for something else on the GM form. Here is the link to that GM form:
https://forms.gle/8hGUxNbEFJfewfdDA
Please fill out the request for your new tables by July 31st. Please only add your replacements for 2-00. For my sanity, don’t submit unless you were involved with the SFS special. Thanks!
HILARY, HOW DO I NOTIFY MY PLAYERS?
Go ahead and post the news to your tables. Feel free to copy this email if you wish. We will be posting notices in all the PBP lodges as well.
I know this is not what we hoped to do, and I’m sorry. Thank you for understanding that we’re scrambling to fix this.
Hugs,
Hmm

That is change for me personally. That way there is a chance that I will not be able to play both specials. Because of the limit of just one special per player.
In my country we play just one special per year as a face to face game (there is always a chance that I will not be able to go.) :)
One more question. Will we have RETROCON next year?
I didn't play:
S03-SPECIAL Blood Under Absalom (1-11)
S05-SPECIAL Siege of the Diamond City (1-15)
S08-00: The Cosmic Captive (1-11)

That information is important for us to be aware of. Thank you. We will try to take that into consideration when making decisions regarding both Outpost III and the possibility of offering SFS 2-00 in the future. While nothing will change for the current PbP Gameday, we have started to discuss how to gather useful data to pass to the Organized Play leadership. We believe decisions are made with the intent of encouraging the long term health of the overall community and we wish to support that process.
I have not yet been involved in discussions regarding another Retrocon, so can not at this time provide any information. I am sure we will begin that process relatively soon though probably not until after Gen Con at the earliest.

This is not just about SFS 2-00 it is about all specials. Ideal solution will be that there is no limitation on the number of specials you can play. Again, if you sign for one special there is possibility that you will be left without open seats for second special. :)
I hope that we will have RETROCON next year. I think that's what I'm saying on behalf of all of us who did not start playing Pathfinder from the very beginning of his existence.

The limitation on the number of specials is only during the initial sign-up. That restriction was lifted on 22 Jul. That was primarily to ensure sufficient spread across the specials, especially for others who come to know of Gameday late. I understand your concern about not finding a seat for the other special, but that's why there's also waitlist and we would have done what we can to form enough tables for those waitlisted. Of course, it's a moot point now though. :)

Polling question: when you have a character who hasn't played at level 2 yet, and you decide to go in a completely different direction but it's much too late to change the name, what do you all do? Make a different alias and keep using the same number? Give up and make a new character? Do any of you as GMs pay attention to names when you're reporting a game?
DebugAMP
I just keep the name and change the character. TBH I never really find my character's personality for the first few adventures anyways.

I have a handful of PCs with names I wish I could change after having played them in PbP. Like the previous people have said, it doesn't affect reporting, though it does autofill in your PCs name when you type in the PFS number, so there is a chance some games for your PC might have the incorrect name. Since everything is tied to the character number though, it doesn't really matter.
Lesson I've learned, play every PC as an alias from now on. A little late for me for 1e, but I'll try to stick to that in 2e.

Just letting everyone know that "Replays" have been distributed. I can't confirm if they have been given out to all players, or just some, but if you check your Organized play tab > GM/Event Coordinator, you can see how many you have. You may need to press "refresh points" to see them.
For reference, I have 133 sessions and 3 stars for 8 replays.
1 friend has 259 sessions with 3 starts for 18 replays.
Friend 2 has 17 sessions with 1 star for 6 replays.

It means you've GMed all of 1 game and somehow have more free replays than me and my second friend there, which is really strange, unless you've played more games than me I suppose. Any chance you have more than 132 played games?
For replay information, it allows you to replay a scenario you've already played, but with a different character. Without a replay, the only games you can play more than once are level 1-2s and scenarios marked as "evergreen" like the Halflight Path.

Nope, my quick estimate from my organized play page is 115-120 reported across all my characters.
How does one use a replay that's in the system like this, as opposed to a paper boon?

If you go to your sessions tab, you can easily see how many you've played.
My friend sent me this information: According to Tonya you go to the Boons tab and there'll be a widget to assign a replay boon to a character
You print that boon out, present it to your GM at the start of the session (or send it to them digitally for online), and then keep the signed copy of the boon with your chronicle

Folks, keep in mind that with Gameday we have games across many different sites and mediums:
There are even open PFS Special slots on each of them. Don't be afraid to try another medium for a single game or heck, even two. We are all part of one Online Region. If you are unsure of how to format or play at that website, now is the time to sign up and give it a try. There are plenty of people at each location that will help guide you through the process.

If any of you are playing Siege of Gallowspire at Gen Con and have tickets for tier 7-8, I've started a pre-muster thread.
If you have tickets for tier 7-8 (Champion) and are interested in joining my family's table of four level 9 PCs, Docchicago and I would be delighted to play face-to-face with a couple of our fellow Flaxseed Lodge members.

Would the following players please report to the discussion thread for Gameday VIII PFS # 10-01 Oathbreakers Die.
Khani Sidare
Vorros Scribbleback
Karnak Sourtooth
Waggi
Rogar Duskforge
On the signup sheet this was originally showing to run on RPGGeek. That was a mixup and has been fixed. It will be run on Paizo.

Hello lovely Lodge Folks! We have a great little Confirmation group seeking a replacement GM to finish us out before PbP Gameday, as our current GM seems to have disappeared. For anyone concerned about bandwidth we're quite literally on our way towards the final encounter and we're a group of regular and active posters so it shouldn't take much time to see us through to the end :)
Gameplay is here and Discussion is here.
Thanks!

I posted in Discussion already: I am willing to finish that last encounter for you, if you're okay with being mostly delayed until after GenCon.
GM Socrates
It's the least I could do; almost every player in that game has GMed a game for me before, and I have been on the other end of these GM searches plenty of times.
I assume that GMing the last encounter does not earn me credit for one of my own characters.

Protocol is normally writing to the GM to check they are not coming back, and then finishing and reporting it. You do get the chronicle.
I think for the repeatables, adding the GM as a 7th player would be a nice touch - though knowing which character number to give the chronicle to may be an issue.
philipjcormier
Maybe not the place to ask this, but does anyone know if there are PFS Character sheets where you can manipulate the format?
I write big and I'm getting older, so it's a bit hard to see/fill out some of the areas of the sheets. I was looking to re-arrange and expand the sheets. For example, take the skill section and make it one page, the rest of the first page it's own page, etc.

@Muzouka - Welcome to the Flaxseed Lodge and to PFS PbP! It's always a delight to see new faces here :)
Based on a quick peek at your profile and from your posts, it seems that you're already at least somewhat familiar with how PFS in general works, correct? If so, making to jump to PbP isn't very difficult at all though it does take a little getting used to.
If you scroll to the very top of this page/campaign, you'll see a sea of different links to different things of interest. In particular, you'll see Getting Ready for PFS PbP which will take you to a post which contains several useful bits of information, including how-to-guides, for people who are looking to start playing PFS via PbP. I highly recommend giving them a look when you have the time!
In addition, please feel free to pose any questions you might have here in Discussion as you've been doing. We've got a great bunch of GMs and players here and everyone's always happy to jump in and help answer questions and offer advice.
Happy to have you and I hope you enjoy yourself :)
P.S. We also have lodges here on the Paizo forums for:
Starfinder Society - Castamir's Flaxseed Station
Pathfinder Society 2nd Edition - Cottonseed Lodge
Adventure Card Guild - Flaxseed On Deck

We also have some non-Paizo lodges. They are typically smaller lodges and don't have quite as many games going on but if you can't find a game you are looking for here, they might be worth giving a try.
