The GM for a specific game or table will usually put out a muster call in the respective lodge's 'Recruitment' thread like this one, typically anywhere from a few days to even a couple of weeks before the convention's official start. This is to allow for everyone to get checked in, finalize purchases, and discuss anything about character builds or other rules early, so that the game can get rolling right away once the official start date hits.
Often, these mustering calls are the primary means of mustering but GMs will usually send out a PM (Private Message) to players who haven't checked in within a few days of the game starting.
Every GM is different. Some GMs might wait until the official convention start date (August 26th for Gameday VIII) before making any Gameplay posts at all. Others will open up the Gameplay thread early to allow for character introductions and a bit of roleplaying and then start the mission briefing on the official state date. While the forums usually will show an indicator of new posts in any campaign threads or other threads that you've looked at or posted in, occasionally they'll bug out and quit giving these notifications. For that reason, I recommend occasionally checking things even if it's not showing any new posts.

Thanks for the links! I've mostly been playing PFS with my local group once a month. I am looking to continue my second character's career by pbp.
I've seen some game play threads where the characters have their stats at the bottom of their post. Do you know how they do it? Is it a signature?
Welcome, Muzouka! If you look in the PbP GM Kit linked at the top of the page, item 11 is the PFS Character Template, which explains how to format the taglines to go under your character name in posts and the statblock to use on the character's profile page.
Also, if you don't see a post from your GM in the Recruiting thread, check the sign-up sheet - the GM may have added a link there to the game's Discussion thread.

Depending on how your chronicle was prepared it might be easily copy-pastable, but often just typing them is the better part of valor.
Though, hey, if someone's about to chime in with a real time saver, I'm all ears :-)

GM Socrates |

It's the least I could do; almost every player in that game has GMed a game for me before, and I have been on the other end of these GM searches plenty of times.
** spoiler omitted **
Another question for this game I finished for GM Choptop. Should it be reported under OSP or under my own event?

![]() |

GM Socrates |

He did a (mostly) open recruitment. I remember because the only reason I wasn't a player was because I wanted to bring a level 2 character. It seems I should use OSP reporting.
When I GMed Starfinder for my local game shop, the GM gave me a boon with boxes to check for every regional game I GM. Is there something similar for PFS1?

GM Hmm |

There is. RSP exists for both PF1 and Starfinder. We're still waiting to find out if they'll do anything special for PF2.

This isn't 100% on topic, but this thread has the highest concentration of interested people.
Is it possible to make a browser plugin that copies your text to clipboard when you press the 'submit post' button at a paizo.com url?
There's a browser plugin that I've used in the past called Lazarus Form Recovery that does this.

![]() |

Lazarus is no longer supported but there are others out there. I use the Typio Form recovery plug in for chrome. It saves as you type it out so if you get goblins your text is only a button click away from returning. It also keeps a history of your last 10 as well.

GM Socrates |

GM Socrates, if you used public, open recruiting then you can report under OSP - otherwise, it'll have to be your own event.
So I used the form to report my game and I got the email. But now I realize that it's not clear to me what to put in the Event and Event Code parts of the Chronicle Sheet. I would guess "OSP 2019/2020" for the former since that's what's in the email, but the "Session Id" in the 600s seems way too low for an Event Code. Any help here?

The first bit is the event name and the number at the end is the event code.
GMs should use the following event information on chronicle sheets for their qualifying games
ACG: 2019 Online Support Program - ACG [2691827]
PbP: 2019 Online Support Program - PbP [2691826]
VTT: 2019 Online Support Program - VTT [2691825]

GM Socrates |

Thanks. I think I remember seeing that on the form. Should have checked my notes; I had copied it right there. rolls eyes at self

In fact, John Compton confirmed it in the product thread.
This has been sanctioned for use in Pathfinder Society Roleplaying Guild since August 2017. See the download link near the bottom of the product description on this page. As a Tier 1–2 module, it is replayable for credit at 1st level.

Hello, Online Peoples!
You may have noticed that we have recently removed a number of tables from the PbP Gameday VIII spreadsheet listing. These were tables with only 1 or no players signed up. With Gameday just under two weeks away the decision was made to remove these low signup tables in order to better consolidate and fill out the tables that remain. All of the GMs for the affected tables have already been notified of this decision.
If you are a player please check the table listing to see if this change affects any of the games you have signed up for. But fear not! We still have a number of PFS (1st) Core and SFS tables with available seats as well as a few PFS (1st) and PFS (2nd) games with available seats - and we would love to see those seats filled. So if you have a character suddenly in need of a new home for Gameday, check out the list to see if anything strikes your fancy! :)
Cheers,
Lady Ladile

If I recall correctly the giant instinct barbarian explicitly gets access to larger weapons
EDIT:
... You gain access to one weapon one size larger than you, of any weapon type otherwise available at character creation. It has the normal Price and Bulk for a weapon of its size (page 295). When wielding such a weapon in combat, increase your additional damage from Rage from 2 to 6, but you have the clumsy 1 condition (page 618) because of the weapon’s unwieldy size. You can’t remove this clumsy condition or ignore its penalties by any means while wielding the weapon.

Or you can just do it the way Amiri does it. Technically everyone has access to weapons of different sizes.
[I]Inappropriately Sized Weapons: [/pA creature can’t make optimum use of a weapon that isn’t properly sized for it. A cumulative –2 penalty applies on attack rolls for each size category of difference between the size of its intended wielder and the size of its actual wielder. If the creature isn’t proficient with the weapon, a –4 nonproficiency penalty also applies.
The measure of how much effort it takes to use a weapon (whether the weapon is designated as a light, one-handed, or two-handed weapon for a particular wielder) is altered by one step for each size category of difference between the wielder’s size and the size of the creature for which the weapon was designed. For example, a Small creature would wield a Medium one-handed weapon as a two-handed weapon. If a weapon’s designation would be changed to something other than light, one-handed, or two-handed by this alteration, the creature can’t wield the weapon at all.

I think this is PF2. This thread is PF1.

Any word on when scenarios should be dropping for GMs for Gameday VIII? I know GenCon made things nutty for Paizo, just wondering if leadership has heard anything as we are a week away. Thanks!

GM Hmm |

I sent an email reminding Tonya about this yesterday, but have not heard back yet.

Yep, I'm in the same boat. Hope they drop soon.

So do I. I told Tonya that you all would be advancing upon me brandishing pitchforks if the scenarios don't drop soon!

Thanks for the update, HMM. Appreciated.
And I believe campaign service coins grant immunity to fire and pitchforks.

***Announcement***
As of today (Tuesday, August 20th) we are no longer accepting table submissions for PbP Gameday VIII unless you have already mustered a legal table on your own. As long as you have a legal table you may still submit your game using the submission form under the Other Recruitment heading. You may also continue to recruit for a table that is not full even after submitting your table to the table listing (i.e. a GM finds 4 players & submits the game - you may still look for 2 more players to fill the table.)
Please let us know if you have any questions.
Less than a week to go, woo!
Cheers,
Lady Ladile

Hey GMs,
I recently sent out a GM email for PBP Gameday VIII. You can find a repost of the information in the official PBP Gameday Announcement thread.
If you did not see my email, now is a good time to check spam filters! These emails are chock full of useful information, so we want you to be able to read them!

GM Hmm |

Some have dropped and some haven't. If you still haven't gotten it by 6pm today, send me an email. As far as I can tell, they're dropping them in batches.

Hey Everyone,
I have some unfortunate news. I regret to inform you all that we will have to postpone Gameday VIII by 2 weeks.
This would place our new dates for Gameday at: 09 Sept 2019 - 17 Nov 2019
WHAT IS GOING ON? WHY ARE YOU DOING THIS?
As most of you are aware, the majority of the GM’s have not received their scenario support for the Convention to include a good portion of the Specials. With Tonya occupied by other duties this weekend, we realized as a team that we are very unlikely to see the remainder of scenario support drop by Monday the 26th. Multiple avenues were discussed and what seems to be the best solution is to push Gameday back by two weeks. This will allow enough time for the GM’s to receive their scenarios and prep them.
BUT WHAT IF WE ALREADY HAVE OUR SCENARIOS, CAN WE START THEM?
Please hold off until the new start date to be able to eligible for your boon rewards. I understand this is a large inconvenience, we are doing everything we can to make this work. Part of that is to have everyone one the same start / end times rather than scattered.
We apologize for the inconvenience that this may cause, but we want all our GMs to have a chance to shine.
HOW DO I NOTIFY MY PLAYERS?
Go ahead and post the news to your tables. Feel free to copy this email if you wish. We will be posting notices in all the PBP lodges as well as the Gameday VIII Announcement page.
I know this is not what we hoped to do, and I’m sorry. Thank you for understanding that we’re scrambling to fix this.
If you have any other questions please don’t be afraid to ask.

I would like to thank you for the update and the scrambling you have been through, I am sure.
Although we are anxious to get started, we definitely appreciate all the work it takes (and logistics) to pull off an online convention of this magnitude.
I certainly will not complain anytime someone is taking their time to provide free stuff to us just to play the games we enjoy. Thank you, Paizo, Venture Officers, GM's and players. :)
Sincerely,
GM Aarvid

Thanks for the update. Appreciate y’all’s hard work in organizing this and adapting to circumstances out of y’all’s control.
I asked customer support earlier this month about a PF1 product and they replied that they were currently swamped with the release of PF2 and they’d get back with me; I haven’t heard back since. I’m guessing they’re still swamped and that might’ve adversely affected scenario support as well. Do you feel confident that the rest of the scenarios will drop in the next two weeks? If they drop earlier, any chance we’d start before two weeks?

We are hoping to get in touch with Paizo staff Monday / Tuesday that will be able to push the drops for us. I feel confident once we are able to get in contact that the scenarios will be dropped, hopefully early next week.
If we do receive the scenarios sooner we will still wait to begin on Sept 9th. This will give the GM's time to prep as quite a few of them are being tossed multiple scenarios as well as a Special. Trying our best not to stress or burn out the GM's any more than necessary.
