Nice! Would this feat essentially let you grapple as many creatures as weapons you can wield?

And, if reading as written, that wouldn't even be true. You could impale an infinite number of enemies on your dagger, hahaha.

I'd go with a 6-Armed creature and Grabbing Style instead. You could then Grapple up to 6 people without taking the penalty for having both hands free.

I saw someone ask, so try right here for the Corrupter Creature template: http://paizo.com/products/btpy8j2t?Pathways-1

(Every issue has a unique template in it - and they're usually pretty interesting. ^^)

Would you permit an amulet of mighty fists to potentially be an effective +10 instead of the current +5 limit. Of course the cost would go upto 400,000g if that happens but i think it's definitely worth it for a druid.

Just cast Greater Magic Fang every morning, that's a +3 right there that you can add special abilities to?

I'm slightly confused. Can the amulet of mighty fists not be an innate magic item? I chose it to buff my natural attacks in whatever form i wild shape into. Instead of weapons

That's a lot of spell slots though, since GMF only affects one Natural Attack per cast.

Thanks, Rednal! I wasn't sure to ask, if it was a non-SRD book that you and the DM have that would seem snide.

....

So... does anyone have advice on legendary items for a character who doesn't use weapons, armor, or an Amulet of Natural Fists? I'm not sure if I want to just get two intelligent tattoos...

I know there are lots of creatures with spell-like abilities that are constant or at-will. (i.e. greater teleport) Is there a general rule for fiendish power for this? Is this cost less if things that normally affect a group are self only (i.e. greater teleport)

Also, could the list of things with fiendish power cost be put on the campaign info tab? It's really easy to miss something in a long recruitment thread and this will keep people from asking twice.

Priece request on these scavenged abilities.

Pried off wiht malevolent mechanical claws:

Chain Guns (Ex)

These advanced firearms have a range increment of 200 feet, automatically reload as a free action, and never misfire. An annihilator's core can process scrap metal into new ammunition, effectively giving the annihilator infinite ammo with these weapons.

Combined Arms (Ex)

When taking a full attack action, an annihilator can attack with melee and ranged integrated weapons simultaneously.

Plasma Lance (Ex)

As a standard action once every 3 rounds, an annihilator may fire a 120-foot-long line of plasma from its tail. All creatures in this area take 20d6 points of plasma damage (Reflex DC 22 halves). The save DC is Intelligence-based.

Suppressing Fire (Ex)

As a standard action, an annihilator can use its chain guns to fire in a 100-foot cone. When it does so, it makes a single chain gun attack against every target in this area.

As far as Legendary Items go, I recommend thinking about your character's overall theme and asking "If I could give them one iconic piece of equipment that represented who they are and how they do things, what would it be?"

That's usually the right answer for what to have as a Legendary item. XD

Can anyone suggest a way to get an oversized weapon that i can use with little or no penalty?

Ideally my character will be medium or large at most but have a weapon 2+ sizes bigger.

Also, is the 150k for each item or total between them? And the +6 is free aside from that?

Yes, but I have to pick *two*...

@thunderbird....looking at your pic, how about a monocle and a top hat? ^_^

Think hand&eye of Vecna, only...different...

Male one Battlepants. Everything is better with Battlepants.

Okay, if you really aren't sure what to do with your Legendary item, just get yourself a Head of Vecna and put that on.

(Or think of pairing them together. For example, Excalibur is famous for being a great sword, but its sheath was reputed to have protective powers of its own. Combos are fun!)

Thinking my armor and shield, as it'd be hard to choose one out of four scimitars I'll be using to be my favored.

They'd be mad at me for picking favorites, I know it!

Got it.

Head of Vecna+Excalibur!

How about the Book of Vile Darkness and a Book of Exalted Deeds.
Good idea? I thought so, Yidhra ^_^

On a more serious question: Could one of the things we "bring along" for the ride be a Deck of Many Things? Always loved those...
and it's such great fun getting the group to play poker with it...

My character doesn't have legs, either, and fights best with improvised weapons. o.O

Maybe I'll go really crazy and pick something like a ring, or a tiara.

Your...character doesn't...have legs? xD

I'm a fallen Lillend! They're half-snake! No place to put pants.

bigrig107 wrote:

I think legs are overrated if you fly. Maybe he made a Couatl?

@thunderbeard, you can always wear pants if you are brave enough! Just pay for legs evolution so you can!
They can be small, vestigial legs you can just wiggle around slightly while putting on or taking off your snakepants!

Thinking NE Sword Saint/Hexcaster Magus/Witch of Insanity Oni.

Will post more later. This game sounds funking badass.

How do we determine favored class bonuses? Do we just have 1/tristalt level, and also, do we need to only pick 1 Hp/SP per level or can we choose any race's favored class bonus since racial requirements are being done away with?

1 person marked this as a favorite.

For some reason, I forgot that we had previously talked about his plans, and I knew he was doing that.

I just had this idea of this poor tortured angel, with stumps for legs. It was...quite horrifying.

Given some of what I hear here, Sariel is going to be almost frighteningly normal-looking. XD But then, that fits her theme better anyway.

Don't worry Rednal, I'll look perfectly majestic archangely.
Just the way mortals would want to imagine us.
...
Speak my friend
You look surprised
I thought you knew
I'd come disguised
On angel wings...in white
...
It's just the inside that's rotten.

So is Mamoniel. Just some metallic colouring and a halo of floating guns...and a permanent smirk.

The bigger problem is that I have a base speed of 20', with no way to increase it (because base speed can't be increased unless you add extra legs). Which means, since I need wings too, a flight speed of 40'

I'm going to be slow as all hell...

@Rednal: Nonsense. My character can alter form at will, and sees no reason not to appear as a small and unarmed human child most of the time.

@thunderbeard: I already asked if we can upgrade flight with RP points...

Special: This trait can be taken more than once. For each additional 2 RP spent, the race's fly speed increases by +10 feet, and the maneuverability improves by one step.

so, yep, you can up your speed. It will not come cheap, but if it's natural(Ex) flight, you are not dependent on your slithering-speed.

Like I said, thunderbeard, buy the Fast quality.

Race Builder wrote:
Fast (1 RP): Prerequisite: Normal speed; Benefit: Members of this race gain a +10 foot bonus to their base speed. Special: This trait can be taken more than once, but each time it is, the cost increases by 1 RP. Its effects stack.

There's quite a few ways to increase base speed. Barbarian Fats Movement is an increase to base speed, Boots of Striding and Springing and Monk speeds are an Enhancement bonus to base speed.

And a few others, I believe.

Why not spend some RP on a faster speed?

If his base speed is 20 ft I don't think it counts as "normal speed" for the RP.

Oh. Hmm. Didn't see that, honestly.
My bad.

...I just realized that I could take Metamagic Rod powers as innate abilities.

I spent a lot of gold on other stuff, but Reach and Persistent could do interesting things for me. XD With my last bit of cash, I grabbed an innate Handy Haversack power, because nothing says answering desires like pulling what people want from out of nowhere.

You could just...not have Slow Speed.

I think he took the serpentine base form, which gives him the slow speed to begin with.

Rynjin wrote:

"A barbarian's land speed is faster than the norm for her race by +10 feet."

"At 3rd level, a monk gains an enhancement bonus to his land speed."

"These boots increase the wearer's base land speed by 10 feet. In addition to this striding ability (considered an enhancement bonus)"

None of those things increase BASE speed, which means my flight speed (the one the party will likely be using to get around) doesn't increase.

@Johnnycat: Nope, I switched my eidolon base speed to serpentine which adds an effective -10 speed penalty. Not sure if I can undo that with RP.

Monkeygod: You count as your HD for purposes of calculating that sort of thing.

The Archlich: Yes to your first two questions, no on the third, and remember, you get legendary items and innate magic abilities, not a straight 150,000 GP in equipment.

HighonHolyWater: I will allow that, but isn't it cheaper to just enchant them?

Philo Pharynx: Yes. With the list though, read one of my last posts. I have broadened the possibilities, essentially eliminating the need for a list.

MordredofFairy: You may scavenge abilities from those books.

Cthulhu_Eats: Just pick the FCB that you want.

Thunderbeard: You may take the speed boosts, despite having Slow Speed.

Those with questions about Fiendish Power costs, please send them as a message. Those who sent them previously, re-send them.

Fallen,

Benighted Regent mentioned expanded and more powerful animal companions and familiars for those who desire them(Myself and my brother[So_AMaven above]).

Any chance you have a list or something for us to choose from? Would he need to spend a feat slot to grab Improved Familiar or would a badass one be automatic?

Also, if there isn't a desirable companion from among those allowed, would I(and others) be allowed to take a normal animal and apply templates to it? If so, is there any sort of limit for that?

For a frame of reference: how much is the typical power and how many points do we have to work with?

Backstory Time!

Spoiler:

Once, long ago, Shanalotte was mortal. It is suspected that she was but a simple maiden who devoted her life to preserving the hope and heart of others. Be it weary traveler or wayward knight, all could find comfort in her sublime grace. But such things have become lost in the throes of the past.
Her ascension came at the hand of Ihys who charged her, and three others, with the keeping of the primordial flame that would serve as a beacon to his armies as they fought across the Outer Planes. A great abbey was founded to house the flame and the four keepers were interred within its walls, seemingly for the rest of eternity. The War in Heaven came to an end with the death of Ihys, but the duty of the firekeepers did not.

The primordial flame had been but a fragment of Ilhys' magnificent soul and, as a result, the two were bound to one another. The death of the god severed that connection, causing the fire to rage uncontrollably. Deep shadows were cast all around the abbey and the chamber that housed the fire was blackened from the intense heat. The firekeepers did their best to contain the inferno, but such a want of souls could not be smothered. Even lost souls in transience to their final resting place could not escape the blaze, and were drawn to it and consumed. With each that was annihilated in this manner the fire ebbed, though it would inevitably flare up some time later with renewed intensity.

One by one the firekeepers offered themselves unto the primordial fire, hoping to once and for all quench its flame and spare the others any further carnage. In time only Shanalotte remained, and she too made to cast herself into the fire. Of the four her soul was the most magnificent and, in turn, had the potential of suppressing the primordial flame for eons. An ultimate act of selflessness to mark the final moments of the maiden...

Or so it would seem. Unable to go back Shanalotte saw the core of the primordial fire and learned of the terrible truth. No longer was it a splinter of the god Ihys, nor did it rage and consume without purpose. For when the Lord of Darkness slew his brother, he seized his soul as well - flame included. The primordial flame had become little more than a gateway to Hell. All those consumed in the fire were instantly deposited in the clutches of Asmodeus, the same fate Shanalotte now faced.

Let it be known by all that the last goodly act of the maiden Shanalotte was one of defiance. Even as her soul was consumed in the fires she struggled, sealing the putrid heat within her own body at the same moment she was being cast into Hell. In that way, it could be considered a miracle. The portal was no longer able to function, having lost its source of power, and no more unfortunate souls would be lured to their demise.

But only a fool would view things so narrowly. The reality is, despite being sealed away, the primordial flame continued to consume the soul of Shanalotte until only a hollow shell remained; a tragic shadow of her former glory. A fitting vessel for the fire's hunger...

Now the creature known as Shanalotte is little more than a macabre mask worn by the terrible entity below. Her person shapes it, gives it form, but it is the urge to consume that drives her.

I appreciate any and ALL feedback anyone may have.

Sorry if it got answered, I cant seem to find it.

Question for GM:
2 weapons, both tier 5, both are +6 for no cost.
150,000gp for each? Or for your total cash?

Question for others:
Is there a way to get powerful build fairly easily? or something like 3.5 Monkey Grip?

Buying it as a fiendish power is probably the easiest. Titan fighter can do it.

Monkeygod: Fallen pets include things like Imps, Hellhounds, Hellcats, Nightmares, and such. Was there a specific class that you were asking for a pet for?

Johnnycat93: There is no 'typical amount', but usually cost from 1-10 Fiendish Power. The amount you have is in the first post.

Tenro: The GP allowance in abilities and the two Legendary Items are two separate things, though you may use the not-GP to enhance the weapons, if you desire. You may also splice abilities into weapons, if you choose weapons. You may either get Powerful Build as a Fiendish Power or take Monkey Grip as a feat.

I'm about to log off of Paizo for the night to go play some video games. I will post some more stuff for you all to read over tomorrow!

Hmm, I must have missed something, I will go back and read some posts.

The 150K is for abilities to fuse into my form.

The Legendary items get no GP amount for them, but the GP from the bodily form can be spent on them.

Am i understanding you correctly?
=================

Ok, so with that Effortless lace, that is for a 1-handed weapon, and can let it be used as a 1-handed weapon by a person 1 size smaller. A person a size smaller than that, could wield it in two hands? That would give me my (char size+2) weapon. Powerful Build would probably be cheap, so i could get a 1-handed Gargantuan weapon as a 2-handed weapon for a Medium character? That sounds like my cup of tea.

Think I got the first draft of my character story and stuff! If anyone has suggestions or feedback, I'd appreciate it. I'm sure I can improve it.

Spoiler:

The creature known as Temlakos did not begin his life as such. Before his fall, there were two angels, Hameid and Araton, soldiers for the gods. The two proud and mighty warriors were like brothers, kindred spirits that worked in concert to follow their god's will, and the orders of their superiors.
Hameid, who wielded a hammer hewn from the first stone formed in the world, and Araton who wielded a spear formed of pure lightning, worked together for hundreds of years. They protected ancient artifacts, kept mortals from danger, and smote the forces of evil in the world. And for hundreds of years, the same artifacts needed protecting, mortals continued to fall to evil's sway, and demons.
As the centuries passed, the pair fought harder and harder to keep evil at bay, but the battle was of course as ageless as the creatures that fought in it. They began relying on the artifacts they protected to give them an edge in the battles - much to the disappointment of their superiors who chided them for frivolously using ancient holy objects for simple battle.
But above all other their other tasks, they were bodyguards to the angel Caphriel, who was prohesied to be key in defeating a great evil in several years time. Numerous attempts had been made on her life since the prophecy, primarily lead by a demon named Vadrahn.
The two angels fought bravely in defense of Caphriel, willing to give their lives to protect her, but the harder they fought, the more Vadrahn sent against them - and they knew soon they might fail. Eventually the Hameid and Araton were able to track the source of the demon summoning to a cult hiding in the city of Iccot. Despite searching for weeks to track them down, the cultists had been using powerful magic to hide their locations from all sorts of scrying and detection. Desparate to end the attempts on Caphriel's life once and for all, the two stole a powerful artifact from one of the vaults the gods had - one of the blacksmithing hammers of Torag.
The two brought it to the center of the city, and slammed the hammer down, a shockwave leveling the city and reverting buildings and everything inside to rubble and raw materials.
The retaliation from their superiors was nearly instantaneous - it was only seconds before they were shunted back to the upper planes for punishment. They were stripped of their rank and titles, and sentenced to be banished far outside of the reach of mortals or outsiders.
But as they were shunted to the space beyond the planes, Hameid and Araton stubbornly clawed their way back - they had spent their lives willing to die for others, and weren't about to be banished for doing their jobs.
The thing that returned was no longer Hameid and Araton anymore, but a twisted combination of the two, warped by unspeakable forces that lay beyond the planes. And he called himself Temlakos.

Concept:
A huge creature focused on protecting others - fused together from two other beings. After being shunted into space and clawing his way back into the planes of mortals and falling to hell, Tamlakos denies his former superiors the satisfaction of his death. He clings to life dearly, but also still has the mind of a bodyguard and follower - he does not have grand plans of world domination. Now, with no orders and no superior, he is lost. He will probably latch on to the least durable PC to be a #2 bodyguard.
He has traits from both of the two angels he was formed of - Hameid's acid and stone theme, and Araton's lightning theme.

He'll be pretty durable, and good at defending others, plus divine spells for utility. Probably Lawful Evil, team player type guy.
Appearance:
Imagine this, but electricity and with two heads and a serpentine tail
Temlakos stands at over 20' tall on a long tail of jagged stone-like plates held together by crackling blue energy, and four powerful clawed arms. Skin that isn't covered in stony plates is marked by scarred flesh, and small plates of armor seem fused to him. He has two horned heads with toothy maws.
He wields a lucerne hammer - a shaft of lightning with a stone hammerhead at the end.
