Since you specifically mentioned Shadow, and that's a +xxxx gold instead of a +1/2/3 ability, I will say:
You can invest gold from your innate item pool to add abilities like shadow (+3750g if I remember correctly) to your armor or equivalent things to your weapon.

So, just out of interest: Will there be a new deadline set for this recruitment?
I dunno if any others heard back from our GM in the past 3 days since when he supposedly came back, if he's still busy scanning the thread, or something came up for him again...but neither have I seen any answers or new entries in the spreadsheet.

So it would stand to reason that quite a few people are as stalled as they were when GM's internet broke down. August 6th, thread creation, is now 2 weeks past.
I had sent a PN to him shortly after he disappeared the first time, and refrained from sending another inquiry regarding my legendary items, having planned to wait for the unanswered PN to be answered first, which may suggest that he managed to reduce his workload a bit.
So far, no luck, and I am almost certain I am not alone among those waiting for answers needed to finalize the character.

It might especially be important to further clarify the legendary items part in regards to those items which are not weapons or armor, as I believe there's a good number of us either not using armor, or fighting with natural weaponry.
In the interest of all involved, especially GM, might it be useful to push the end date back somewhat?

I'm sure he'll take that into account. I mean I think the majority of people can't finish and I doubt he wants to bar all the other great characters that are mostly finished but waiting on feedback.

I am mostly asking because a new deadline may make things easier for all of us.
Right now, I am checking back daily to see if there is something new, and some other people may be more "stressed" and send additional messages.
If it was "official" that the date is pushed back, to, say, around 13th of September, I would gladly take a break, check back in 10 days or when I get a PN, and everything would feel more relaxed.

I don't want to hijack someone else's thread but purely as a quick interest check, I started tinkering with converting RotRL into a truly epic adventure- one that starts at 11th level (probably gestalt) with 1 mythic tier, and runs to somewhere around 21-25th (with maybe 6 tiers). Would anyone here be interested in that if/when I'm ready to go with it? assuming this dies or you're not selected, or have tons of time

I may just drop out of this, despite the fact that I spent a solid week working on the character. Even if he is still around, if he's this inactive during Recruitment, how bad is it going to be in the actual game? Posting once a week is way too slow.

Because they suck and have horrible customer service. Pretty much all cable companies in USA are like street gangs with territory that (in my opinion) form illegal monopolies. They can then strangle our MBPS for higher prices, there are 3rd world countries with high average internet speeds than the US average. /Rant

And lower prices to boot.

One thing to consider, then, would be what Rynjin brought up.

If the provider AT&T is so bad that you will end up without internet for weeks, then it's a serious question if a game with a GM using that provider could ever work out.

PbP is slow already. Making a post twice a month will not work. A single encounter could take a year.

So unless the GM manages to secure another provider and can prove it's reliability by showing presence here for the remaining time of the recruitment after his return, this game is still dead, regardless of why he's not available right now.

Hey, for any who were intrigued by my idea for an epic RotRL campaign, there's now an official interest check up with some additional info.

@GM: If you ever do make it back here—don't be discouraged. I think the recruitment's just effectively over. If you still want to run the campaign, I'd recommend PMing the people you choose once you make a decision, in case they're no longer checking this thread.

I think the problem with that idea is that plenty of people never got to finish because they did not hear back from GM on several issues.

If GM ever comes back, he'll have to reboot recruitment and give those people some more time to finish after answering the questions that come up.

I am sorry to see this die, I know I was asked not to apply and I am fine with that. But I can see all the work other players placed into this building some amazing PC. I was hoping to look on and see what had the makings of a great game. Lets hope you guys still in the running get your game and GM :)
