Basically I have been having an itch to run a game that hearkens back to some older school dungeon crawls. All monsters, loot and rooms would be randomly generated via random tables. As would player stats. I am on the fence about character race so that would be a personal preference. Also I will want the 4 basic classes(Cleric Wizard Fighter Rogue[Unchained]) before taking any other classes. 6 player cap but I may run a second game if there is sufficient interest.
Stats: 3d6 in order.
Races: Core only
Classes Core with Unchained classes being allowed if desired.
Roll for gold and HP in thread.
If you roll for your race it is a d7 as follows
1: dwarf
2: elf
3: half elf
4: Half orc
5: halfling
6: Gnome
7: Human
I'm located in Eastern Standard time but I post at almost any time of the day.
I look forward to getting players. Have fun.

I'm quite interested in this, lets see what I get.
Race: 1d7 ⇒ 3
3 = Half-elf
Strength: 3d6 ⇒ (5, 5, 2) = 12
Dexterity: 3d6 ⇒ (1, 1, 2) = 4
Constitution: 3d6 ⇒ (2, 1, 3) = 6
Intelligence: 3d6 ⇒ (4, 4, 3) = 11
Wisdom: 3d6 ⇒ (2, 3, 1) = 6
Charisma: 3d6 ⇒ (6, 1, 2) = 9
Oh boy... I will make a half elf wizard then. With the following stats
Strength = 12
Dexterity = 4
Constitution = 6
intelligence = 11+2 = 13
Wisdom = 6
Charisma = 9
Hitpoints: 1d6 ⇒ 6
Wealth: 2d6 ⇒ (3, 4) = 7 = 7*10 = 70 gp
Well at least he hit point roll went well. I will try to have an alias with a finished character together by Monday.

As an addendum Do not worry about your character being too bad. Once You're in game any death will result in a new character. Until Raise Dead is available to be cast by a PC.
Also recruitment will end at the end of the month. if there are not enough applications then I will extend it.
with the current rolls, we may not get a raise dead. nobody will have the necessary wisdom score to cast it.

If any player can get a 13 starting wisdom then with the increase at 4th and 8th they'd be able to cast it once they have 5th level spells

Looks like I end up with an Elf doing...anything, aside from Rogue. Definitely workable. Anything else you need me to roll for? You want HP and Gold here? And are we rolling for HP at first level, or taking max?
Well, I could be a Rogue. It would certainly make for an interesting time. Should I come up with a character now, or wait for you to decide who's playing?

![]() |

Just to see what comes up...
Strength: 3d6 ⇒ (3, 3, 5) = 11
Dexterity: 3d6 ⇒ (2, 4, 2) = 8
Constitution: 3d6 ⇒ (6, 1, 4) = 11
Intelligence: 3d6 ⇒ (1, 4, 4) = 9
Wisdom: 3d6 ⇒ (2, 1, 3) = 6
Charisma: 3d6 ⇒ (1, 3, 6) = 10
Race: 1d7 ⇒ 5
Hit Points: 1d10 ⇒ 7
Wealth: 5d6 ⇒ (3, 4, 3, 5, 5) = 20 x10
Looks like a halfling fighter.
FINAL ATTRIBUTES
Strength 9
Dexterity 10
Constitution 11
Intelligence 9
Wisdom 6
Charisma 12
Hit Points 7
Wealth 200 gp
Yeah, I'm in. It's going to be a hard road to hoe, but I'll give it a whirl.

HP and wealth are rolled in chat. Don't necessarily worry about selecting your class as I will most likely not have too many applications so I should be able to take in most applicants. So selecting class early on is allowed but it will not really matter until after the applicants are selected.
in chat? is this a PbP or something else?
also are you determining our class?

Alrighty, lets see what the dice gods bring me.
Str: 3d6 ⇒ (3, 1, 6) = 10
Dex: 3d6 ⇒ (1, 4, 4) = 9
Con: 3d6 ⇒ (6, 5, 4) = 15
Int: 3d6 ⇒ (6, 1, 6) = 13
Wis: 3d6 ⇒ (1, 1, 6) = 8
Cha: 3d6 ⇒ (1, 6, 5) = 12
Race: 1d7 ⇒ 4
With this stat array, a middle aged Half-Orc Wizard would be the strongest choice.
Str 9 (10-1)
Dex 8 (9-1)
Con 14 (15-1)
Int 16 (13+2+1)
Wis 9 (8+1)
Cha 13 (12+1)
I'll save rolling hp/money until classes are decided.

Those are some tough stat generating rules but lets see what happens.
Str: 3d6 ⇒ (3, 2, 2) = 7 = 5
Dex: 3d6 ⇒ (4, 6, 5) = 15 = 17
Con: 3d6 ⇒ (1, 6, 3) = 10 = 10
Int: 3d6 ⇒ (1, 4, 6) = 11 = 11
Wis: 3d6 ⇒ (6, 2, 4) = 12 = 12
Chr: 3d6 ⇒ (5, 6, 4) = 15 = 17
2 15's - not bad. I think we need some flexibility to fill the basic 4 classes though, so I don't think I should roll for race, but everyone else is, so ...
Race: 1d7 ⇒ 5
So a weak halfling rogue, sorcerer, or bard.

Louxman |

Love me some random dice chaos!
race: 1d7 ⇒ 3
Strength: 3d6 ⇒ (3, 5, 2) = 10
Dexterity: 3d6 ⇒ (3, 6, 5) = 14
Constitution: 3d6 ⇒ (6, 2, 1) = 9
Intelligence: 3d6 ⇒ (1, 5, 6) = 12
Wisdom: 3d6 ⇒ (5, 6, 6) = 17
Charisma: 3d6 ⇒ (2, 4, 2) = 8
Druid... or ranger... or Monk!
I'll see whats needed but I'm in if you'll have me.
L
Ps: I like the fact we're all not that great on stats and might die a lot, it's more interesting if we're not all muscle-bound egg-heads, plus we get to make new characters!

fearcypher |

I'm glad you enjoy this. I enjoy heroes that don't have the best of every stat and get to make the most of what they have. It leads to more creative gameplay and cuts down the power level a good bit. Also playing a brutish fighter with terrible dex can be tons of fun to roleplay. I would rather play this but there doesn't see to be any people doing it so I decided to run it.

BC4Realz |

Been looking to get into a PbP and this looks perfect...
Here's what RNGesus gave me...
1d7 = 1 = Dwarf
Strength: 3D6 => (2 +4 +4) = 10
Dexterity: 3D6 => (1 +4 +1) = 6
Constitution: 3D6 => (2 +2 +3) = 7 +2 (dwarf) = 9
Intelligence: 3D6 => (5 +2 +5) = 12
Wisdom: 3D6 => (6 +2 +2) = 10 +2 (dwarf) = 12
Charisma: 3D6 => (3 +3 +2) = 8 -2 (dwarf) = 6
Hmm...With stats like that I think it is best if I stick with hitting things.
Let's do an Unchained Barbarian.

Vrog Skyreaver |

Why not?
Strength: 3d6 ⇒ (1, 2, 1) = 4
Dexterity: 3d6 ⇒ (1, 6, 2) = 9
Constitution: 3d6 ⇒ (1, 1, 1) = 3
Intelligence: 3d6 ⇒ (1, 3, 1) = 5
Wisdom: 3d6 ⇒ (4, 1, 3) = 8
Charisma: 3d6 ⇒ (1, 6, 2) = 9
Hit Points: 1d8 - 2 ⇒ (3) - 2 = 1
Starting Wealth: 4d6 ⇒ (6, 1, 4, 4) = 15x10=150 gp
Race: 1d7 ⇒ 1 Dwarf
OMG, that is fantastic.
Final Stats:
Str: 4, Dex: 9, Con: 5, Int: 5, Wis: 10, Cha: 7
I think I'm gonna make him an unchained Rogue.

We have 13 people, and I am on the fence about running a game with 7 players. This game is probably going to be pretty story light with very little RP, especially early on. So if a combat centric game isn't your cup of tea then this may not be for you. Later on I may attempt to add in more story/RP but I am running a few RL games and I have to tailor everything for those because running stuff as written fails horribly, so this is basically going to be my easy mode for DMing so for a while the plot is going to be almost nonexistant (I.E, let's dive into a lich's dungeon)
Anyway if we still have over 12 applicants I will, keeping in spirit with the game, roll to see who will be in the game and who will not.
