I've an idea for a type of Drow Backline Ranged type of Character, if you allow it. I may be running my own game tonight, so I'll have to work on it after that, aside from what I can do now. First I'll have to see what I want to do with the ranged, then figure out how to supplement it to something more useful/synergistic with the Gestalt. Thinking of something mixed with Monk (as I feel the Monk provides good utility/synergy with the ranged aspect, giving my characters more options in combat, and just being more fun to play in general.) I'll let you know.
I'm playing a Winter Witch in an upcoming campaign, and I have 10,500 Gold to buy gear. I'm not sure what I should buy for her, as I don't expect she'll be using conventional weapons all that much. I think I'll mostly have wands and some pieces of magic equipment. I was thinking about something like a Goz Mask to combine with her flying and a wand of Obscuring Mist, but that's pretty much all my gold right there. http://www.myth-weavers.com/sheet.html#id=800345 That should be a link to the sheet, if you want to take a look.
Hello boards. I'm trying to figure out what AP to run for 2 players, if that ends up being the road we travel. Yes, I understand AP are made for a party of 4, with varying differences in party make up. I'm aware they're not really meant to be handled by 2 players. I don't care. You let me worry about that. I'm just trying to learn whether or not there are certain APs that will work better than others for 2 people. I was thinking Council of Thieves might be a good one, but I'd like to know some other thoughts. Thanks!
It's possible the spot has already been filled. And I don't believe there really is a "best man" for these sorts of things. I'm sure either of us, or anyone else chosen to fill the spot will be just fine, considering they would be deemed sufficient to fill the spot. Aside from being able to consistently play, and follow rules, there isn't really anything that can really be judged by anyone other than the person deciding, because they are very general on what else they're looking for. But life goes on, whichever way the axe falls.
I created a lovely Winter Witch recently that for problems getting a coherent party of 4 people (had 3, couldn't get the 4th). I've grown quite fond of her, and have a very strong desire to play her. I have no preference for the type of game, as long as it's not somewhere where she's going to be entirely useless. I decided to post here in case someone is looking for that last little addition to their configuration. I may try posting in other threads, but this seemed worth pursuing as well. If you'd like to speak about an adoption, feel free to send me a message or post here.
Hello all, I'm just wondering if anyone had any ideas about building characters or adventures from well known fairy tales. If you need more information on what I mean by fairy tales, I suppose that can be provided, but I'm talking about basically any children's story or some such thing. Also might play a bit with making an Alice in Wonderland type thing. If anyone has any ideas or knows of anything like this that's already been done (aside for The Harrowing module) I'd love to see it. Thanks!
Hello people. Right now, I'm finishing up my new character, and I'm stuck on what to get for her. I've got 150gp, and I really don't know what to buy. She doesn't need any armor, and I don't expect to be using her in melee range... ever (I hope). She does have a good Dexterity, but is not proficient with any Bows, just Crossbows, and with only being proficient with Simple Weapons, there isn't much in the way of weaponry for her. So I've got 150gp to spend on... anything that I normally don't spend gold on. Help me out guys. What do you think? I might give her a Longspear, since she can use it, and it has Reach, but other than that, I don't think I'll be giving her a weapon. Her spells and Hexes should work just fine.
I'm looking for pretty much any advice on running a game for one PC, by themselves. There will probably be NPCs to help them out in their adventure, but I'm looking for advice specifically for running published adventures. Tricks like Gestalt, and starting at a higher level only provide so much, and later in the course of things, simply aren't enough. Action Economy is the biggest issue I see with doing something like this. Anyone have any advice to help me out? This is not something that I'm doing right now, but I have been thinking about it lately, and may do so soon. Thanks.
Welp, just read through almost every post on here, then realized it was from last year. Awesome... Anyway, as far as my character goes, I'm looking at two different approaches, depending on how long we plan on using these characters. I'd play a Winter Witch or some kind of Rogue/Ranger type character for characters being used indefinitely, because I like to develop them as characters, but if we're just using these ones for a short beginning and then moving on to something else, I'll take something more like a Fighter or Monk. Those classes are more straightforward and don't take too much in the way of developing.

His parents hadn't influenced him much growing up in terms of what they'd done, but more with who they'd been, as people. Adrian learned how to think and speak for himself, and to understand other people, even though his undiagnosed sociopathy kept him from caring too much about how they felt. He decided at a young age that he was going to study medicine to become a doctor, so that he could study the body more in depth, to gain understanding and knowledge that had not been found. Adrian always felt the strong desire to truly "know". To understand. Despite his scholastic aptitude, as he rose through the levels of education, he became less interested with the academia and more interested in his personal wants and goals. He spent less time worrying about studying and school, and more about thinking in the abstract. Things he could learn from education were not so difficult to learn, and he had little trouble, and preferred spending his free time figuring out the truth of the universe. As deep as he thought though, he never really talked to anyone directly about these thoughts and his discoveries, though occasionally he would provide these insights indirectly, through topic of conversation. After his formal education was finished, Adrian began his path to become the first of what would be established in the position of Medical Examiner. There was corruption with the Publicly Elected Coroners, and many things were being overlooked or swept under the rug. One particularly exercised excuse was the lack of knowledge, mainly in the case of "unexplained deaths", which were due to poisoning. After the office of the M.E. was established and the corruption contained, Adrian began working with the Police to solve cases, providing information about how the deaths occurred, and even participating in active investigations. Because of the nature of this job, he became skilled not only using his Medical Expertise to aid him, but also his skills in perception and detective work, sometimes serving in that position as well. Since college, Adrian had spent some of his free time learning, studying, and practicing Aikido. It was his means of physical exercise and conditioning, and gave him quite an edge when it came to subduing suspects. The streets are not always so kind however, and he also learned how to use a Handgun as well, so that he could defend himself from opponents with similar armaments. Recently, there have been strange, unexplainable circumstances around some of the crime scenes he analyzes. Nothing that would draw supernatural suspicion, but facts aren't adding up. Evidence is more inconclusive, and these puzzles elude him more and more, piling up. Very little seems to be making sense lately, and Adrian has begun looking for other people who may be able to make sense of his new cases.
3d6 ⇒ (3, 2, 5) = 10
2d6 + 6 ⇒ (4, 4) + 6 = 14
3d6 ⇒ (4, 1, 2) = 7
2d6 + 6 ⇒ (2, 4) + 6 = 12
I'm finishing up the my character and wanted to ask, how much does each skill point increase a skill by? Or is there some other kind of determinant?
Wandering Messanger wrote: Looks like I end up with an Elf doing...anything, aside from Rogue. Definitely workable. Anything else you need me to roll for? You want HP and Gold here? And are we rolling for HP at first level, or taking max? Well, I could be a Rogue. It would certainly make for an interesting time. Should I come up with a character now, or wait for you to decide who's playing?

At the point this happens, the two are causing problems for the other four, and are absolutely welcome to find another DM.
