Game Master lynora

This is a high level rules light game set in a school for magical kids, kinda a mash-up of Soul Eater, Harry Potter, and X-Men. :)

A somewhat horrified Krays feels another undead form into being
"H'Tor!!! Stop it!! Shift back to skeleton!! Oh, man..."

If it makes you feel any better, then Shadowstrikes had already permanently destroyed his mind, so there really wasn't any saving him.

If the wards are set up to stop people from actually being killed in the Snipe Hunt, wouldn't it stand to reason that they would also prevent being turned into undead...?

[EDIT]: Or what she said below... ;D

They had found a way to make themselves invisible to the wards. Which also means unable to be effected by the helpful effects.

Oooo - posts moved around. Much wonkiness... (^.^)

No wonder Ryleh was able to kill off so many Hunters... they're all idiots!

Well, let's consider this for a minute...the Shadowstrike Clan was trained by the ghost of a guy who got killed by a dragon. Yep, that's right, not only did he fail, he was dead! And they thought it was a good idea to listen to what he had to say...As if this wasn't enough, they then go start a fight not with dragons, but with...another Hunter Clan for not being traditional enough....And then infiltrated the school run by the rest of their enemies....yes. Yes, they are all idiots. :)

...

None of them are going to make it out of this school intact...

Two down, twelve to go?

What was the name of the clan they fought with? I can guess already, but...

Everyone looks over to see Ephebe trying to smash a gem on the stone ground. When she realizes you're watching she looks up with a shrug, "Anyone know how to break this thing?"

Regarding Ephebe's very self-less "soul-swap' trick… i think it might have been fun to get soul-trapped. Stuck alone in a gem with no one but his own mind for company? Seems like an awesome breeding-ground for becoming a wilder to me!

"We can always give to Kam and let him drop it." Taron suggests thoughtfully.

Right up until you consider that had their 'trick' worked they would have teleported away and then killed him later, sure, sounds great...;P

Let's just say you are guessing correctly.

BPs: 32/32 :: Status: Unharmed :: Dodge 18; Soak 21

Oh, surely the wise and powerful DM's could have come up with a side adventure for Spin to be rescued... I'm just sayin'. Anyway... back to the actual plot.

Ephebe slams the gem once more on the ground (with a surprisingly loud crack). If that doesn't break it, she shrugs, "I guess we could try that.

Spin's pretty strong (STR 26).. is he able to crack it on the ground?

Male Dhampir Champion of Darkness, Order of the Gunslinger initiate

Attack: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (20) + 15 = 351d20 + 10 ⇒ (11) + 10 = 211d20 + 15 ⇒ (6) + 15 = 21
Damage: 1d6 + 9 ⇒ (5) + 9 = 141d6 + 9 ⇒ (5) + 9 = 141d6 + 9 ⇒ (1) + 9 = 10

Attack: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (1) + 15 = 161d20 + 10 ⇒ (12) + 10 = 221d20 + 15 ⇒ (4) + 15 = 19
Damage: 1d6 + 9 ⇒ (2) + 9 = 111d6 + 9 ⇒ (6) + 9 = 151d6 + 9 ⇒ (2) + 9 = 11

Asch puts his guns away and two shortswords form in his hands made of solid shadow and attacks the trapped enemy.

[ooc]Crit: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (12) + 15 = 271d6 + 9 ⇒ (2) + 9 = 11

I'm confused. Is Asch attacking the guy trapped in the tentacles or the gem?

Male Dhampir Champion of Darkness, Order of the Gunslinger initiate

Errr......I actually forgot about him...... Forsome reason I thought he got taken out of the fight. Changing that to shortswords and attacking him instead of maces and the gem.

The spellcaster who had been grappled in the tentacles slumps to the ground unconscious.

Was male... Formerly, kobold Bonded advanced skeletal companion

Looks back at Krays like "What?!?", then reluctantly shifts to his normal form. Seeing the shadow there seeking instructions...

See what happens when you go tossing around spells like a bad juggler tosses knives?

Krays wrote:

Getting around the wards is a double-edged sword. They are there to keep you safe, and if you decide you don't want the wards to work on you, as the Hunters have...

It was self-defense.

Male Dhampir Champion of Darkness, Order of the Gunslinger initiate

"Here let me see if I can't get the gem open."

Attacks Right:
1d20 + 18 ⇒ (2) + 18 = 201d20 + 18 ⇒ (7) + 18 = 251d20 + 13 ⇒ (12) + 13 = 25

Attacks Left:
1d20 + 18 ⇒ (3) + 18 = 211d20 + 18 ⇒ (13) + 18 = 311d20 + 13 ⇒ (6) + 13 = 19

Damage Right:
1d6 + 9 ⇒ (6) + 9 = 151d6 + 9 ⇒ (4) + 9 = 131d20 + 9 ⇒ (8) + 9 = 17

Damage Left:
1d6 + 9 ⇒ (3) + 9 = 121d6 + 9 ⇒ (3) + 9 = 121d6 + 9 ⇒ (2) + 9 = 11

He says as the swords in his hand reform into two maces and he begins to hit the gem.

The gem smashes open and purple smoke flows out of it, reforming into the shape of Ephebe. She staggers a little as she finds herself outside of the gem prison.

Male Dhampir Champion of Darkness, Order of the Gunslinger initiate

"Welcome back."

Male Kobold (Adult Black dragon) Gestalt Sorceror/Oracle Necromancer; Champion of Death

"Hi Ephebe! That was close..."

Imagefemale weredragon (amethyst) gestalt Soulknife17/oracle10/divine gunslinger7

"Yeah," she said, sitting down rather abruptly. "Too close." She yawned. "I need a nap..."

"You just couldn't stay away from the shiny gemstone could you, hatchling?"

Male Dhampir Champion of Darkness, Order of the Gunslinger initiate

"So what do we want to do with these two?" Asch asks as he nudges the unconscious man with his foot and points to the mind blasted hunter.

"I can take them to him. I'm not getting any real readings from their minds though."

Male Dhampir Champion of Darkness, Order of the Gunslinger initiate

"You gona quit our match so soon?" Asch asks with a slight grin.

Imagefemale weredragon (amethyst) gestalt Soulknife17/oracle10/divine gunslinger7

"S%&%!" She cradled her head in her hands, tears starting to drip down her nose. "I just did something really, really stupid."

Male Dhampir Champion of Darkness, Order of the Gunslinger initiate

"Huh! What! Why what's going on?" Asch stutters.

Male Kobold (Adult Black dragon) Gestalt Sorceror/Oracle Necromancer; Champion of Death

Ephebe shook her head.

Spin:

Spoiler:
::I'm sorry. I'm so sorry. I wasn't thinking. I shouldn't have said that. I..I basically told him that the way to hurt me was through you. I'm sorry.::

"I don't know where he's going."

She is exhausted to the point that her vision is starting to blur.
