The Avalon Chronicles

Game Master lynora

This is a high level rules light game set in a school for magical kids, kinda a mash-up of Soul Eater, Harry Potter, and X-Men. :)

Fei's first three punches connect solidly, the last one dealing only a glancing blow. This thing still seems unfazed even though he's dished out a solid amount of damage to it. It seems a little confused at Jeran's retreat though, slowing its reaction time a little.

Totem spirit is holding its action trying to figure out what it going on.

Phaeze, yes, you can use limited wish that way, and the fireball would actually be helpful to Fieri and Alton since they're both healed by fire.

Edit: Yes, visibility might be a problem. Would the fact that time isn't moving for him mitigate that at all?

The change in local gravity might make the cloud 'fall' a bit toward the center of the chamber just like everything else, granting at least some visibility at the outer periphery where the statues are. Just a thought ;)

Take a moment to imagine you are in a cloud of white-hot embers that are now immobile compared to you. How well can you imagine your ablility to see is?

I should have just opened with that spell...

I hadn't thought of that. The question is though, will the change in gravity affect the cloud while time is stopped(for it anyway)?

Totem spirit is holding its action trying to figure out what it going on.

Fei seizes the opportunity to try and reason with the spirit.

"You were summoned here for an unjust challenge. Jeran has no reason to fight you as Ssrena has no right to challenge him in any way other than a personal rite of combat."

"Our fight does not need to continue, if you will leave now and commit no more violence upon anyone here."

Diplomacy Check (just for giggles): 1d20 + 22 ⇒ (13) + 22 = 35

He lets his physical guard down, but still is ready to absorb more punishment from the spirit if it continues to fight.

It's going to depend on when the time stop event occurs, and who/what it specifically affects in the chamber. Quite the logistics nightmare this is turning into....many brains will hurt soon (o.O)

Male Kobold (Adult Black dragon) Gestalt Sorceror/Oracle Necromancer; Champion of Death

Looking back it looks like Phaeze did the temp acceleration before Alton's cloud went off. Is this a second one?

Krays does nothing to hinder Ryleh, and instead focuses on his love for Ephebe to anchor her...

Male Human (Mole Zoanthrope) 16 Monk/Ninja

Continues to defnd Gustav and Nala from the angry lycans...

::Because the bad luck is in the energy. Messing with the energy means you run the risk of bad luck. She really shouldn't have cursed the statues.::

::20 seconds. You better have more in reserve if you're going to stop us.::

Male Kitsune (9-tailed) Professor of Eastern Philosophy and Planar studies (?)Sorceror/(?)Flowing Monk

Corodinates the Homeroom procedures, getting children to safety...

Krays wrote:

That's what I thought.

::I think he's bluffing. The aschen didn't have enough time to really curse the statues. Just to make them not work quite exactly right.::

Female Half-Elf Sorcerer6/Dragon Disciple 9

Vai feels a sudden surge of power flow through her body, and she directs it towards Ryleh. Along with the energy, Vai feels a distinct and deep sense of terror fill her. She tries to push it away, tries to focus. ::I won't allow my home to be destroyed!:: she tries to shout at Taron, but only those connected feel the telepathy, and Vai's sense of dread.

Outwardly, Krays can see Vai slowly shifting towards her draconic features, blue scales beginning to erupt all over her body. Her face is still a mask of determination.

Ryleh struggles to deal with the sudden influx of power flooding the link and the presence of ....something. It was throwing everything off balance. She desperately threw it at the task at hand trying to keep things under control.

Percent chance things all go horribly wrong: fifty-fifty, high is good.

Male Human Psion (Shaper) 14 (D6)

His singing done, Gustav noted that he dropped a couple of lycans. But not enough. He ducked back into the art room, and mentally checked his psionic power levels. Uh-oh. Gustav was getting low. He could still Psychoport himself and three others, or do a final series of attacks. Surprised, the youth realized it was the first time in his young life that he had actually run low on psionic energy. Why aren't you a big cognizance crystal? Gustav demanded of Inspiration. Don't blame me for your own shortcomings. the psicrystal rebuffed.

Gustav decided to take a breather in the art room, listening to the sounds of battle outside in the hallway.

......Yep. We're doomed. -.-

Male Elven (reincarnated - originally Human) Fighter 5 / Wizard 10 / Arcane Gunslinger 10 / Arcane Gunmaster 5

Yeeeeaaaaaahhhhh......I don't think so. Tamrin's busting out the wishcraft and putting the kibosh on this mess.

After almost three decades of dealing with his family and the things arrayed against them, I have no problem saying that he's gotten veeeery proficient in that spell's use (and has the blasted thing on 'speed dial' now).

Unless someone can give me a compelling reason for not saving his family and millions of innocent lives, that is..... :)

::What did you do?:: Taron asks frantically as the energy stored at the top of Agartha streakes out across the ceiling in a spiral pattern...

Just remember, wish never comes out quite how you intended it...that is how you ended up as an elf after all. :)

Taron Sunwake wrote:

::There's someone else in the link,:: Ryleh says as she struggles against the out of control energy. ::I don't know who and I don't know how they got there....I was assuming it was your doing.::

How about two?

1. We've still got the Tamrin Statue. Wish is powerful expenditure of energy that the Statue would collect and add to the power Taron's storing.
2. Who said anyone was going to die?

::It wasn't me. The energy was supposed to be used in one area, concentrated and easier to handle, not spread out like this!::

Hmmm - still violating Board rules if I try to answer. Oh, bother....

Male Kobold (Adult Black dragon) Gestalt Sorceror/Oracle Necromancer; Champion of Death

Good guys dont always win...if no one is goign to die im all for seeing how this goes...can always undo it with a greater wish later ;)

Image

Well, it looks like we're going to see how it goes because that roll means Ryleh is now busy trying to keep things stable and that means we're not being very effective at opposing Taron's group....so, yeah....end of the world...should be interesting. :)

Also, Tare, this is going waaaaay too far to alleviate boredom. ;P

Male Quasit (Demon) Gestalt Vitalist/Psion(Telepath) 16

Temporal Acceleration affects only me and unattended objects, which is why I can kind of stack actions like that. But given how I am using my spells I do not have to be able to see. I am not targeting anything in particular, in fact my spell effects are designed so that this works even without being able to target anything specific.

Male Quasit (Demon) Gestalt Vitalist/Psion(Telepath) 16

Did the delayed fireball destroy the statues?

Waiting for DB3 to get back to find out. :)

M Advanced tengu 1/2 Black Dragon 16 Gestalt Alchemist/Witch

Kassar casts Cure moderate wounds mass on those of us in the statue room.

Concentration:1d20 + 21 ⇒ (13) + 21 = 34

cure: 2d8 + 18 ⇒ (3, 5) + 18 = 26

How are you grabbing people if you can't see them?

Yes, any statue that either isn't still in Jim or was taken by the rats is destroyed now.

::Grandmother... let it go.:: Taron sends as he grapples with the power, trying to get it concentrated again. He wouldn't let some third party who had no idea what they were doing mess this up! He shot a glance at his anchors and they sent him more power. He tapped the runes covering his body for even more. A surge of raw, purging power surges at the third party's foreign energy, slamming into it with the ferocity of a hurricane

Ryleh cried out in despair as she lost control of the power, unable to stop the plan Taron had set in motion....

*KRA-KOOM*

The initial explosion rocked Agartha to it's core, but the series of booming cracks seem even louder. Fissures and canyons are in Agartha's 'ceiling' and then... starlight. A real moon. On the other side of Agartha, the Firebird Sun found itself stuck in the same path as a real one, though still within the atmosphere.

::Agartha means 'hidden world.' If you want to destroy something,:: Taron sends to his grandmother, mental voice exhausted, ::If you want to destroy something, take away it's name...::

The link fades away with Taron's consciousness.

In the immortal words of Andrew Hussie:
Unsnop.

Upon realizing that I'll just use it on myself.Thought it was an area effect but see its targeted.

Well, while that was a question for Phaeze, I guess that is a problem for you as well, huh?

Warforged Engineer Alchemist 16/Armiger 16 Champion of Creation

I've had my homunculus tossing them out for a while now, keep in mind. Not a terribly long time, but a while.

206/402 if adamantine daggers or +5, 210/402 if not

Not even close to dead, mate.

Telekinesis on the statues inside me, forcing them out. If they collide in the opening, creating a sort of beam of energy, that's even better. :P

::And now there's nowhere left to hide. No safe place left for the few of us left to be,:: she said despairing. ::We're all out in plain sight within the Empire.::

She clung to Krays as the tears flowed.

Male Quasit (Demon) Gestalt Vitalist/Psion(Telepath) 16

I knew where my people were located when the smoke erupted, fieri and jiminy didn't move, and I fly at 50ft per round so I would be able to find jim, given I had three rounds to look for him, by the time it was his turn to be picked up.

As soon as the explosion occurs, the presence in the link is gone violently. So violently that Vai screams both out loud and through the link, and collapses to her knees. Still humanoid, but with all her draconic features, and covered in scales, Vai breathes hard for a second before collapsing into a fit of sobs.

After the incendiary cloud disapates, Khassar dust himself off and lights a cigar. After a few puffs in cotemplation and appreciation of still being alive he says "Well, time to start cleaning up. And then some serious drinking."

Incendiary lasts rounds a level.

+5

"Don't want the fun to end so soon..."

This time, when the daggers fly, there a three being thrown at the same time.

A & D:
Attack: 1d20 + 27 + 10 ⇒ (20) + 27 + 10 = 57
Damage: 1d4 + 15 + 10 ⇒ (3) + 15 + 10 = 28
Damage: 1d4 + 15 + 10 ⇒ (3) + 15 + 10 = 28
Damage: 1d4 + 15 + 10 ⇒ (4) + 15 + 10 = 29

Attack: 1d20 + 22 + 10 ⇒ (1) + 22 + 10 = 33
Damage: 1d4 + 15 + 10 ⇒ (1) + 15 + 10 = 26
Damage: 1d4 + 15 + 10 ⇒ (2) + 15 + 10 = 27
Damage: 1d4 + 15 + 10 ⇒ (1) + 15 + 10 = 26

Attack: 1d20 + 17 + 10 ⇒ (14) + 17 + 10 = 41
Damage: 1d4 + 15 + 10 ⇒ (1) + 15 + 10 = 26
Damage: 1d4 + 15 + 10 ⇒ (2) + 15 + 10 = 27
Damage: 1d4 + 15 + 10 ⇒ (2) + 15 + 10 = 27

Warforged Engineer Alchemist 16/Armiger 16 Champion of Creation

136/402

If he's visible, I'll run at him and punch.

Attack1d20 + 31 ⇒ (15) + 31 = 46
Damage2d8 + 28 ⇒ (3, 4) + 28 = 35

If he's not, Jim will use a Total Repair device, activate his fast healing. 75 points left, 5 used at a time. He will also get a device of Cloudkill out.

Warforged Engineer Alchemist 16/Armiger 16 Champion of Creation

I didn't bother with the Spellcraft, as Jim would automatically pass it, but didn't he use Getaway? Did he really cast the spell to move somewhere else in the same room?

Edit:For that matter, can Alton see perfectly in the incendiary cloud? Otherwise, it'll be fairly difficult to hit Jim.

No, the Mage used Getaway, Alton was still on the screen the whole time. Alton teleported in when Jim killed defenseless baby 'fire rats'.

If you could see his eyes, you know he could see through the cloud.

Warforged Engineer Alchemist 16/Armiger 16 Champion of Creation

Alright then. Total Repair it is. Jim also has a cloudkill device in his hand.

"Enough!"

*cough* *cough*

"You two want to kill each other, do it later, I'm not in the mood to deal with your crap. Alton stop being such an insufferable brat. Your rats are fine. After the crap you pulled it's better than you deserve. But they deserve better than you, so I guess it all comes out in the wash, huh?"

Jiminy uses reality revision to bring the dead rats back to life and to conjure a gust of wind to deal with all the smoke.
