Kitty sits down and opens up the photo album.
"Aww, this picture of Michael and Anthony-kun in the bath is sooo adorable," she said, unable to hold in a giggle.
"And you're right, he did make a very handsome Tree#3."
"I'm not really sure what's going on in this one...why is he covered in paint?"
"Oh, he was such a cute baby! Was that his first time eating solid food?"
*giggle* "Oh, that's priceless! Those bunny pajamas are so cute! But he looks like he's ready to kill something. Actually, that one looks pretty recent..."
Agarthian Storyteller |
Not as recent as you think...
"Not really, dear, but he was old enough to care about how he looked in front of his cousins. It was hilarious when he forgot he was even wearing them and started running around and jumping over all the place."
Kitty Tanaka |
Kitty nearly fell over she was giggling so hard imagining Michael as a demented pink bunny.
"Does he have a lot of cousins?" she asked once she was able to breathe again.
Kitty Tanaka |
Kitty Tanaka wrote:"Does he have a lot of cousins?" she asked once she was able to breathe again."No, just a few. They live close enough that we can visit them from time to time." Sylvia tells Kitty as she checks the rice. "I'm guessing he hasn't told you much about us, has he?"
"No, not really. We've talked more about school related stuff anyways. Family...there's always so much to tell, and it's hard to even know where to start or figure out how much you've left out. But even with that excuse, he really hasn't said much about you guys at all. I think he was still pretty angry about being sent to Avalon," she said frankly. "I understand that. I'm still pretty angry with my family too for forgetting me. I know it's not really their fault, that my ability was just out of control, but that didn't make it hurt less. And being angry with them helps me deal with how much it hurts."
Agarthian Storyteller |
"We were just so caught up in the fact he could do something others couldn't, and we keep saying he would make a lot of friends there. We should have listened when he said he didn't have anything that he would have to go to Avalon for." Michael's mother says, a hint of sadness in her voice. Then she cheers up. "But if we hadn't sent him there, he wouldn't have been around to help you or create that cute little drake!"
Kitty Tanaka |
"That's true. I'm glad that he was there and that I got to meet him. I was really lonely before when nobody noticed me...actually even Michael forgot me. It wasn't until after the third time I introduced himself that he remembered who I was. And the things he can do with alchemy are really impressive."
"I wasn't trying to make you feel bad. Just telling you that I understand how he felt."
Agarthian Storyteller |
"Don't worry about it. It's nothing I haven't felt before, wondering why he never came home. If I had known he had a girlfriend though, I wouldn't have worried so much. I think I'll whack in the back of the head actually, for forgetting such a sweet girl. I'm sure it's not the only thing he's done to deserve it either." She says, giving Kitty a sly wink. "Now, is there anything you'd like to go with this rice?"
Kitty Tanaka |
"Oh, I like it plain. Or we could fry it up with some vegetables and eggs...I'd be happy to help. I'm good at making omurice. But you don't have to go to that much trouble if you don't want to."
"And don't get too mad at Michael for not telling you about me. We haven't been dating for all that long, actually," she said, blushing.
Agarthian Storyteller |
"Kitty, something you should know about this family is that if we ask, it isn't 'that much trouble'. And I'll only pretend to be mad at him. It's a mother's right you know." She chuckles, getting out eggs and vegetables. "Now how about you teach me how to make omurice?"
Gotta go. Have a nice night/day all.
Kitty Tanaka |
Kitty cheerfully starts chopping vegetables, keeping up a running commentary on how to prepare omurice. It had been quite a while since she'd been allowed in a kitchen to cook and she was surprised to discover how much she had missed cooking. Even if Michael didn't manage to catch a fish she was really going to enjoy this meal.
Ephebe |
Ephebe was in full healing mode as she dodged (or didn't, mostly she just phased through) giant rocks. She was going through significantly less bullets than usual. Apparently her time away from advanced PE had forced the others to improve quickly.

Ephebe |
Ephebe grinned as she savored the challenge. This class was rarely anything other than target practice for her. Her eyes went purple-black as she monitored Ta'Su's current condition and actually turned on her haste ability, racing to get ahead of him so she could get a clear shot. She was a blur as she raced around the room working more to avoid the other students than the boulders. It took a couple laps around the gym before she got a shot lined up, but she managed to get right in front of him and shoot him with a cure serious before quickly stepping out of the way so he didn't get hurt again due to the sudden change of direction.
Trying to give the meditation folks a chance to finish if they want before moving on.:)

"I caught dinner!" Michael calls out just after closing the door behind him. Saffire flies into the kitchen looking quite smug. Michael comes in carrying a fish not long after. "Saffire helped quite a bit, and he didn't savage it at all. Hi Mom, Kitty teaching you to cook?"
"Yes. She said it's called omurice, and I thought it would be nice to learn something new. Clean the fish in the sink please, and put the strainer in so the scales don't clog it up."
"Yes, Mom." He says, rolling his eyes as he goes to the sink.

Might want to start wrapping up the basic magic class too.
"Someone got faster while she was away." Ta'Su observes as he sees the blur go by and feels his injury go away. "But just how fast?"
He speeds around for a few more moments, then kicks a boulder in Ephebe's direction.
Ephebe |
Ephebe barely noticed the boulder until she was phasing through it since she'd stopped to shoot an injured classmate. She turned around and raised an eyebrow.
"If you want to race, you should just say so. I'm game," she said, with a cocky grin.

Ephebe wrote:...she'd stopped to shoot an injured classmate. This is one of those quotes that really needs context to avoid being very amusing. ;)
I first pointed this out when she first showed up in the first Agartha game. It's pretty funny to see the look on people's face when they think they are about to get shot, then the confusion when they heal because of it.
Phaezeriel |
Reminds me of a light mace of healing I had in a game once long ago. It did damage as normal for a light mace, but also did 2d6 healing. It was terribly amusing to see the reaction of town guards when I started beating the life back into some poor sot.
Ephebe |
"There's always the next Hunt, my fellow purple eyed speedster." Ta'Su replies, slightly annoyed she was just phasing through the boulders. "Things always get more interesting when Triad can get involved."
"And who knows how long that will be....but I understand you wanting to put off the possibility of humiliating defeat," she said with a wink as she fired off another shot.
"Okay, that's just depressing. I'm in here one session and they already are starting to get sloppy again."
"Jim" Rivets |
Jim, diving through boulders, nearly hits Ephebe as she phases through one. Having barely evaded her with a barrel roll and curious as to how a female got into a boulder, he looks back once he's through, getting hit by a boulder in the small of the back as he does so.

"Wow, that's a really big fish...Good job, Saffire," she said to her familiar who was all puffed up with pride at what a good job he did. "And Michael too of course...oh, and I have to say....you made an adorable bunny," she said with a wink.

"I'm using tech against your magic and/or inherent abilities, priestess. Besides, if I beat you in front of mommy, you might not so quick to heal me next time."
"Okay, that's just depressing. I'm in here one session and they already are starting to get sloppy again."
"Their lives aren't at risk as much anymore, so they are not working as hard. Terrible habit to get into, and not nearly as fun." Ta'Su says as he flips to avoid a boulder by mere centimeters. "Not nearly as much of a rush."

It is a very strange sight to see when a face tries to go pale when it's burning bright red from embarrassment.

"Oh, please. My mommy thinks that throwing boulders at children is a little light training. If I were ever that petty she'd smack me and tell me to get over it. Nicely, of course."
"And I think for the good of the rest of the class I may need to stop healing...or drop the class. Boulders aren't that challenging for me," she said, making a face.
She shot a cure serious at the mechanical boy who just got hit. "Hope that helps...Sorry that I don't have any repair shells."

Perception Check: 1d20 + 32 ⇒ (1) + 32 = 33
Quickly and quietly, Fei intercepts a second boulder on a collision course with Jim. He then returns to his own maneuvers, making sure to stay out of the way of Ephebe and whoever she was talking to in the middle of this morning's barrage. ;P

1d20 + 21 ⇒ (19) + 21 = 40
Jim, seeing Fei's interception, nods a silent "thanks", and resumes diving through them, trying not to get distracted this time, or hit other students, using his boosters to make minute changes in direction and velocity.
The rock damage seems fairly low, so I'm going to assume a few sizes up :3d6: and a crit, if you don't mind.
6d6 + 20 ⇒ (6, 5, 3, 4, 1, 1) + 20 = 40
Cure serious I didn't notice before3d8 + 15 ⇒ (5, 2, 8) + 15 = 30/2=15
Not a problem. I'll buff it out later. It's not that big a deal.

"The statue? Yeah, your parents found it. If it makes you feel any better presuming my family remembers me I'll let my mom show you all the embarrassing pictures of me from when I was little. I can just hear it now...'And here's Sakura-Neko when she fell into the tidal pool, and here's Sakura-Neko when she was trying to learn to walk on a tightrope and got all tangled up in her safety harness...we let her swing upside down like that for hours before she figured out how to get down...and oh look, here's Sakura-Neko covered in mud...isn't it cute?' Then we'll be even." :)

"Okay, so for homework I'd like you to write a paragraph or two on where you think magic comes from. Those who don't hand in this assignment are signing themselves up to be my volunteers for next lectures demonstration. Consider yourselves fairly warned. Alright, you can go now."

"And I think for the good of the rest of the class I may need to stop healing...or drop the class. Boulders aren't that challenging for me," she said, making a face.
"Perhaps you just need to up the level of challenge then." Ta'Su replies, suddenly kicking out at Ephebe with his bladed hover skates, a thin bit of razor-wire lashing out from the heel as a follow-up attack.
Kitty Tanaka |
"I really am going to burn that thing one day." Michael mutters as he goes to back to cleaning and gutting the fish. "Find those bunny pajamas and wrap it in them first..."
She laughed. "It's not that bad. And it made me really happy to be able to see what you were like as a kid. Bunny pajamas and all."

She reflexively manifested her flame chakram using them to deflect the skate, but not quite dodging all the way out of the way of the razor wire. A trickle of blood appeared along her cheek where it sliced into her, but then the wound started to close over again.
"Well, that makes things more interesting."
