"Well, I guess once you've decided you've had enough is roughly when it should end, in my humble opinion. I just hope it doesn't become passe to harrass you. I would take exception to that."
Enre |
Vakkler glares. "Exactly what started the fight, who fought in it and where did the dust come from?"
Enre looks at Vakkler wondering why he glares so much than says "Lycans started it, I was part of it when I told them to stop bulling some students and bothering the cooks. No idea where the pink stuff came from."
Nala Zamarosok |
She stopped to consider. "I think there's still a couple of people I have to make peace with before it's okay to say enough is enough. I don't expect either of them to forgive me. They probably shouldn't. But I think if they can agree to a truce then everyone else should have to abide by it too."
Fei, of the Sun Soul |
Vakkler glares. "Exactly what started the fight, who fought in it and where did the dust come from?"
"The two lycanthrope students - Borin and Rintol, according to the nurses - were in the Cafeteria harassing some other students. I believe one of them dropped a student into the oatmeal pot in the kitchens before coming out into the seating area. This student," as he motions to Enre, "was trying to get Borin and Rintol to stop picking on the others, when they both attacked him."
"I witnessed this from the serving line, and came over to try and diffuse the situation before it escalated any further. At that point, a dome of pink material surrounded the two lycanthropes and contained them for a moment."
Fei pauses and looks around. Perception Check: 1d20 + 32 ⇒ (6) + 32 = 38
He points out Gustav near the door.
"One of the new students - Gustav Stonecutter if I recall his name correctly from yesterday - was responsible for the raising of that barrier to help contain them. Borin and Rintol broke out of it and continued to their attack."
"When I tried to find out why they were acting in this fashion, they indicated that they wanted to hurt people, and mentioned something about not caring about any rules other than 'the rule of the strong'."
"While we were in the process of trying to speak with them, another dome was raised, and the interior surface turned into silver - I believe to prevent them from breaking out a second time. Then it suddenly exploded. Borin and Rintol were pierced by several large pieces of silver, and some of it vaporized and got into their lungs as well."
"I called out for the barrier to be brought down so we could get them to the Infirmary, but I did not get a response...so I had to break the barrier myself. That is the reason for the material being scattered around the area."
Gustav Stonecutter |

How nice to be introduced. Gustav thought sarcastically. Stepping forward, he addressed the kobold who was evidently a teacher at Avalon Academy.
"Greetings, Teacher." Gustav said politely, his hands at his sides, giving a slight bow of deference to the kobold. "When I saw them harassing another student, I thought to contain them. As stated, the lycanthropes broke through my first barrier. So I rebuilt it again, but the lycans grabbed two students inside with them before I could finish the dome. So I though to impede them, to distract them from fighting the other two students, by making the floor silver." The black-haired boy spread his hands helplessly. "As I've told the Headmaster, my control of non-ectoplasmic material is not perfect and I, uh, slipped, and the silver, ah, exploded. A lot. But it was an accident!"
Gustav's eyes slid to the other person talking to the teacher kobold. "Someone called for the dome to be dropped, and I did that as quickly as possible, then got out of the way." Finished, he stood at attention in front of the teacher.

I just imagine Fei speaks softly but precisely, and imagined a sort of rhythm to his speech. Took the idea and ran with it.
Vai shakes away the drowses and smiles to see Nasima across the cafeteria. Not wishing to interrupt the... interrogation, Vai will try to catch Nasima's attention with a small wave and a smile.

Gotcha - I like it :)
Fei's speech patterns do have a certain...cadence to them (in my mind,at least), so I guess I've been conveying that correctly. It's all about the little victories in character development, neh? (^-^)

"They've been surprisingly forgiving considering. No, not the whole family. Just Ephebe. She's the one I caused problems for, so she's the one I have to apologize to. So far we're just doing a great job of pretending the other one doesn't exist."
"And Jeran. Most of the people I enthralled....I made them like me, and I gave them specific targets for bullying, but I never actually made them do anything fundamentally against their nature. It's difficult to keep thralls if you force them to act against their nature. Takes a lot of energy to maintain too. Not that any of them want to hear that. It's easier to blame me for every bad thing they ever did than accept that deep down they aren't really nice people either. But I did force Jeran to act against his nature, and he's still stuck in the middle of the mess I made. I don't expect him to forgive me. Honestly I don't expect him not to try to kill me. I keep well away from him for just that reason."
She shrugged. "But if those two can ever decide to let it go, then the rest of them have no right to bother me because I didn't do anything even close to as awful to any of them."
Ryuzo Kato |
"Well, if Jeran decides to harm you, then he'll have to deal with me. Ephebe, I don't think will cause a stink. But from what I've seen, she'll want a conversation, I bet, to get a feel if you're genuine."

"Yeah. I owe her that. But I've been putting it off. Mostly because I'm scared. I don't know if I'm more scared that she won't forgive me or that she will."
Ryuzo Kato |
"What's to fear? If she doesn't things remain as they are. If she does, then you each have one less enemy to worry about."

"I'm very good at observations," she laughed. "Even quick ones. And you and Anthony-kun are very much alike."
"And did I not mention that I'm impatient?" she added with a wink. "Surprises are hard! There's so much waiting involved."
Ryuzo Kato |
"Heh. I'm used to threat assessment and analysis...sorry."
Michael Dacamara |
"That only makes the surprise even better!"
For about half an hour, Michael leads Kitty through the tree-limbs, doing his best to keep out of her reach so she can't persuade/kiss him into telling her where they're going. He stops suddenly and catches her, causing her to lean over his arm and stare down at a crystal clear lake.
"This lake was nicknamed 'The Caved in Lake'. It's because the water level dropped suddenly one day and people who wanted to find out why learned that a cave system had opened up and was flooded."
"It's actual name is 'Blue Crystal Lake' because it's water is so clear."

"It's fine. I'm just not so...well, logical in my assessments. Completely illogical and emotional response," she said with a shrug as she fed a piece of bacon to Vasya.

"Well, we can't have him swimming alone." Michael says, suddenly scooping up Kitty and jumping off of the branch. "Hope it's not too cold!"
*SPLASH*
Kitty shrieked with surprise as they fell and then they were under the water...it was amazingly clear and surprisingly not at all salty as she found out when she unintentionally swallowed a mouthful. She kicked to the surface, laughing and coughing.
"Define too cold," she sputtered.
Nala Zamarosok |

*Deep breath*
Vakkler is again stunned. "Well..."The kobold coughs. "Oatmeal?"
This is a lot of information to take in, and that talkative monk's voice is making Vakkler drowsy. He shakes his head to clear it. "Well, those lycanthropes will be dealing with the slurks for the next few months. Attacking a student in such a vicious manner, while contaminating food--albeit disgusting human food--and getting in the way of the cooks is intolerable.
"I believe that such punishment on the rest of you is not necessary. That being said, I will expect you three--" He glances at Gustav, Fei and Enre, "--to clean up this mess. And I would like your names--except Stonecutter's, of course."
There. Perfectly reasonable. No over-the-top verdicts. Finding my balance again will be a tedious process, but I seem to be capable of it.
Gustav Stonecutter |
Slightly stunned at not being blamed for the whole mess, Gustav nodded, breathing out a pent-up lungful of stress. "Of course, teacher. Most of the ectoplasm will evaporate by itself." The black-haired boy looked around at the silver dust coating a large area of the tables. I can probably sweep that up - clerics love silver dust. he thought to himself. The damage to the floor was negligible, unless someone poured water on the ground. Wait. A mop. Of course. With another sigh, Gustav prepared to smooth out the depression in the stone he had created. "Might as well get started." he mumbled.
Vai Emkar |
Vai is glad that the teacher was reasonable, and she smiles. She saved him. She beams slightly, knowledge that he might not be here today if not for her. Now that the scene has calmed down, Vai touches Fei and Enre on the backs to get their attention. "Hey, I'll.. talk to you guys after class? I'm gonna talk to Nasima." Vai smiles and curtsies slightly before jogging over to Nasima. "Good morning Nas'!"

Fei bows quickly as she heads off to Nasmima's table, then goes and asks the Cafeteria staff for some cleaning implements. Ecstatic over a student actually wanting to help clean up, they send him back out with a bucket, mop and several cleaning towels.
Handing out the cleaning supplies to Enre and Gustav, he nods and says "Let us begin." (^.^)
Gustav Stonecutter |
"Riiigght." Gustav deadpanned back to the teacher's pet. He stood off to the side, then manifested Astral Construct three times (Advanced Constructs; Utility menu option), giving each thin silvery-pink humanoid a wood-appearing staff ending in a mop-like mass (Ectoplasmic Creation). "Gently mop the floor in a twenty-foot radius, under tables and chairs as necessary, putting everything into the depression there in the floor. Then mop up all the collection into these buckets, squeezing your mops dry." Gustav said, motioning to what Fei had brought back, sending additional mental commands and imaging. Why act like a common worker when you don't have to? he thought to himself.
The black-haired sixteen-year old stood back, crossing his arms, and looked over at the other student while the three constructs started working. "That should only take about fifteen minutes." he quipped. "So, students here are allowed to defend themselves, but only if they clean up afterwards?" Gustav asked.

Sense Motive: 1d20 + 32 ⇒ (18) + 32 = 50
"And the three of us working in concert would allow for this to be completed in the same time or less," the young monk observes with a slight bow, duly noting Gustav's slightly abrasive tone (though a bit puzzled as to why he would have it).
Enre looks at the new student than at the mess than at the constructs than back at the new student "Dismiss the constructs, your power is what started the mess. As for defending yourself normally there is not such a mess."
"I believe Enre has embraced part of the point of our assignment. As an artist, you are not afraid to dirty your hands. This is not very different - instead of art you are creating....cleanliness," Fei continues as he begins to carefully but swiftly wipe down the tabletops that Gustav made no mention at all to his constructs to clean. :)
Gustav Stonecutter |
Gustav shrugged noncommittally. "Stopping the workers now would be pointless, they've already started. Besides, I can control ectoplasm a lot better than changing rock to finished goods." But he did move towards helping Fei with wiping the tables. "You don't look any the worse for wear. I thought the were-creatures would hurt you." he mentioned to Enre. I haven't even started classes yet. Gustav thought to himself. "Why aren't shapechangers restricted to their human forms at all times?" he asked, thinking how it was the lycans' fault for all of this.
narrator |
"And why should we have to restrict ourselves just because you feel uncomfortable, little man," the white haired girl sneered with a throaty chuckle as she and her friends walked past to go and get breakfast. She gave Gustav an amused glare. Even though she looked human (and quite pretty at that) there was something off about her. And that's when he noticed her tongue flick out just for a second. A thin forked tongue, like a snake. She turned away, pointedly ignoring the trio cleaning up.
Kitty Tanaka |
Kitty Tanaka wrote:"Too cold would be when your lips turn blue in just a few minutes. Not that I would mind warming yours up of course." ;) Michael replies as he floats lazily next to her. "I've missed this. Avalon's pool just doesn't feel the same.""Define too cold," she sputtered.
"That's because it's warm," she laughed.
"Oh, dear. Uh....I'll be right back," she said before diving under the water and swimming rapidly towards where Saffire was losing the battle between drake and fish. She retrieved her exhausted familiar and surfaced. Saffire gasped for air as she held him above the water.
"Silly Saffire. That fish was five times your size. Next time pick dinner that you can actually carry. And don't forget that you need to breathe too," she scolded.

Fei hands Gustav a clean pair of towels.
"For the same reason you are not restricted from using your abilities, I would guess...we are all here to master our abilities, and we cannot do that by not using them," he replies as he finishes another table and moves on to the next one.
"The more important question is why those two wanted to use them in such a violent manner in this place," he continues as the white-haired girl made her comment while walking by. He watched her and her group for a moment after they pass.
"Hmm."
