The Avalon Chronicles

Game Master lynora

This is a high level rules light game set in a school for magical kids, kinda a mash-up of Soul Eater, Harry Potter, and X-Men. :)

"I can only wish I had been given to a temple. At least you would have had good people there. I never knew my mom and my dad pretty much sold me to buy booze when I was seven and he found out I could sing. I'm not sure what your caretakers were like, but at least Desnans are good people. I had Hell in High Heels. At least it turned out ok for both of us in the end..."
He lays back on the bed, staring up at the cieling.

"I liked my parents before they found out about the tail. I think. It was a while ago... Either way, they don't tend to have... Positive associations."

In his room in the infirmary, Tybalt runs his paws down the new shorts.

"These really are nice. I'm sure they can help you with the endurance part here. That's one of the hard parts about magic- keeping it up for a while." He smiles and sits back on the bed, enjoying the company.

"I can make more stuff too, but I don't like the little fire spell I use. It doesn't hurt me, just... feels really weird. Itchy. Like my cold is trying to push it away..."

Male Tanuki Bard/Monk16

"Till now at least. Now that you know what you know. That those are a symbol of power and experience of a race by far more powerful than humans... What do you think of them?"

"Still odd. Still unnerving. Still the reason I don't have parents. So, I'm not entirety happy with them, to say the least."

Male Icy Catfolk Image Warlock/Rogue 16

"Me neither, now that you mentioned it."
He prods him, sticking out his tongue.
"Have you tried the shape snow spell? It'd work better than melting it into shape."

Liberty's Edge

Male Crossblooded(Boreal/ Elemental) Sorcerer/Artic Ley Druid 9

"Oh. Yeah, I guess that would work too, if I had snow." Pyry replies, face turning a bit blue from the prodding. He should've known Tybalt wouldn't like it either. "I'll step further away next time. Sorry."

Male Icy Catfolk Image Warlock/Rogue 16

"Hey, it's not a big deal. I was just kidding. You're doing better than I can just to try it, even if it does itch. I suppose it makes sense. Like how other firebirds probably can't use cold magic well if at all. My problem with fire is just something I have to deal with, alright?"
He seems to regret having upset him inadvertently.
"I'm really happy that you wanted to show this to me. It's really cool. In more ways than one."
He grins, trying to make him laugh.

Male Tanuki Bard/Monk16

"Not that odd. Lots of Kitsune wear their tails in human form. And if that's why all the more reason to. Having them just shows they you're better than that. That you're OK with being different, even if other people aren't. Show them that it makes you stronger. Emotionally and physically."

"Better then what? It doesn't change what's actually occurred just because I wear it on my sleeve. In fact, people would then ask, reminding me of what I've lost."

Male Tanuki Bard/Monk16

"Better than giving in. If they would do something like that over something as stupid as being a little different, then it may be for the best. I liked my dad at first too. Most of the time. He was drunk a lot."
He seems to have acquired a guitar from somewhere and is playing it gently and quietly while looking at the ceiling.

He gives him a side hug.
"So, your new clothes wear well? You look good. You'll find yourself a girlfriend or boyfriend in no time."

He hits a short chord.

"You'd think you'd be used to it at this point."

she thinks for a little.
"I... maybe. My clothes aren't exactly made with my tails in mind, though."

Male Tanuki Bard/Monk16

"I got scissors. You could also wear a skirt. They seem to have a uniform here and the girls one has that green skirt."

Female Human (three-tailed)

"I might get a uniform, but no skirt. I'd rather not have my tails like that. That could result in fairly embarrassing moments. I mean, in addition to having my Tails out in the first place"

"That's, uh... when you have a relationship with someone and you love them and they love you. Kind of like being married, but not as serious. You spend time together and kiss and stuff. It's kinda complicated, but you'll know when it happens."
He explains, but in a sort of wistful type way. Like he's imagining something while he does it. His expression changes near the end, a slight twitch before he's back to being happy as he was before.

"Perhaps it's time we have, then."
He waves a hand to his door in an extravagant flourish.

Flourence rolls her eyes and heads off to her room, doing her best not to outpace Rakki. Moving this slow is quite abnormal for her.

"Who is it?"

I'm just gonna have Rena and Asha arrive here so it doesn't seem like we've just been standing there staring blankly.

Rena and Asha finally manage to catch up to Pyry as he chats away with the icy cat person.

She grins at Tybalt as she sets Asha down next to her brother, her hands probably lingering longer than strictly necessary. "Hi Tybalt!" she says happily, clasping her hands behind her back and pushing her chest out a bit.

"Well, here we are."

she opens the doors to her room. There's almost nothing but a bed, a wardrobe, and a place to shower when she gets up.
"Hunh. I guess I do have a wardrobe."

Ardiente had hurried out from the Evocation classroom, brimming with both nerves and happiness. He practically skips through the halls heading towards the lunchtime session with Professor Aananda, Fei, and Vai. He probably didn't need the secretive training anymore since his Earthbending was somewhat well known now but he was still looking forward to seeing them.

"Check it out, then."
He takes a seat on the end of her bed as she checks it out.
"You met your roommate yet?"
He offers as a conversation.

Flourence checks the wardrobe, and finds a school inform inside, as you would expect.

"There are some things about this place that are kinda creepy... Anyway.. No. I haven't."
she looks over the uniform, somehow already tailored for her.

Meanwhile, a fair distance away(especially if one travels on foot!) a caravan eats it's lunch on the go. It's defender against most things, be they bandits, fauna, or even the occasionally flora, talks with a young woman that had recently joined them. It seemed, from what he could tell, she was running from people shed thought were her friends, only to be lied to by them. Surely it wasn't true though!

After all, dragons were extinct...

Iso Ward

It doesn't take long, food is returned, people are all cleared and released.

Seeing the bond, or proximity that the Chosen One has to Jeran, the staff ask that he stay behind with them for support. She actually shies away from anyone else-- she's clearly imprinted on the hero for one reason or another.

They guide the pair to a comfortable place and...

...fade to black.

Lynora, switching to PMs as discussed.

Before Ace actually leaves though, he's hit with stray thoughts from Keme, something about Vai and her apparently being dead. This pulled him up short "Keme, what happened to Vai?" He asks with urgency. She was a newer friend, to be sure, but the two had bonded some the day of the quick raid into the Abyss, and he rather liked her.

Keme's shoulders sagged and his ears flattened. "Like what happened to me," he said softly. "It's not related to our investigation. I know who assisted her. They're planning to bring her back as soon as possible, but there are complications. Professor Sunwake is working on it," he said in a dejected tone.

So, where do you like to have lunch Dara? You will have to show me since this is my very first day here.

Dara struggled to answer, making faces as he tried to find a word he actually knew before he finally settled on, 'Follow'. He led Kim to a deserted corner of the cafeteria, more than half hidden behind a potted plant. Their lunches were brought to them by one of the cafeteria workers. They had tried to make Dara go through the line at first, but the high probabiity of this resulting in flying cutlery had led to the current arrangement where his food was brought to him to avoid any more incidents.

Kimberly sits with Dara, she politely accepts the meal, surprised that they knew she was with Dara.

I'm sorry if this upsets you, but, why do you eat over here? would you like to eat at a table? or maybe outside at a picnic table? at least while the weather is nice. we can stick together so we can look out for each other.

Dara shakes his head. 'Safe here,' he signed. 'Corner. Hidden. Near metal," he added pointing to the large rack of spoons nearby. 'Safe.'

He appears to be on constant alert, not considering anyone entirely above suspicion.

It didn't exactly help that Tam and I weren't even dating yet and she started out with hi, I'm your daughter from the future," she said wryly.

"So instead of panicking all by yourself, how about you let us help out too and we can all work on finding solutions that end up with you not getting lost somewhere in time and space, okay?" she said trying to sound cheerful and...

Mel was silent for a bit, then she tries to play off that she was worried, I'm fine, besides what could possibly go wrong, all these great minds working together. we are bound to find the answers. still, some of the reading on the rift seem to be a bit disturbing, its like there is a force already at work either trying to close the rift or keep it open. I am not sure which.

she looks top Arthur, Arthur, can you take a look at this too, you might be able to help here. she shows him the energy breakdown and in various spectrum's. it is not following the standard pattern of most Time-space rifts.

she runs the data fresh Once Arthur is free to take a look.

"It's probably Ephebe. Based on what she was saying about how she's been trying to hold the rift closed, but her proximity pulls it open. Stands to reason," Aananda said briskly. Time enough to deal with that crisis later. One disaster at a time.

"Look through the specs for the device itself. It includes shielding with phasic resonance. You should be able to apply the same principles to your own shielding, maybe build in a dimensional anchor type effect to drag you back into the correct universe once the rift starts to close," she said, turning her attention back to the construction that was taking place in all of the nanite tanks in the lab.

Asha tried to gasp, but that just let the cold sear her lungs. She couldn't even scream and the pain was so intense she couldn't do anything else. Her skin was turning a thick unnatural white in broad patches wherever it was directly exposed to the cold. If it weren't for her amulet she wouldn't even still be conscious. An alarm started sounding, calling for the staff to come and deal with the emergency.

There was no sign of the others in the practice room. After he'd been standing there for a minute his name flashed against the empty air as the nanites formed a glowing scrolling sign for him.

Ardiente: class cancelled today. Emergency.

And that was where the message ended. There was no further explanation or clue as to what kind of emergency was involved.

Djalos cocks his head. "Hold on, let me get a good look at each of you. If I focus enough, and block everything else out, I can 'see' someone fully-even with color." The young elf enters a somewhat trancelike state, and comes out of it about ten seconds later.

** spoiler omitted **

"What lovely hair you have, m'lady. Quite an unusual color for a fire bird, but beautiful nonetheless..." Directed towards Rae, because I have no idea what Archena looks like :P

There's nothing flirtatious about his manner, however-the "discussing the weather" voice again.
