"I promise," she agreed in a small voice.

When Fei picked up Keme to take him away she turned and buried her face against Michael's chest and sobbed. It wasn't right. Things weren't supposed to happen this way. Keme was her friend and she couldn't even do anything to help him.

Ace places a hand on Fei's arm, indicating he wait. "Fei, what do you plan on doing? I do not know what else to do, but if you have an idea of how to help Keme beyond his death, I would assist you if possible. If you don't, please, do not take his life. I can't let you live with that burden. I have and do, many times over, every day. Its not easy, but I'm used to it"

He holds her in his arms tightly, trying to comfort her as best he can. Things just kept happening today and.. he felt so useless.

"You have not worked in the Infirmary," the young monk says, his voice growing quiet. "I am... most aware of that burden."

"And I do not know of any other way to end this, short of ending Esperanza 'herself'...but I do know when prolonging a life is a torment instead of a mercy. Keme's body, mind and soul are in jeopardy of being lost if we do nothing now. I...will honor his wish, and try to save at least one or two of those, if I cannot ultimately save all."

"Now please, let us go while there is still a chance...."

Fei looks over at Kitty, his heart breaking at the fact that she has to bear witness to this. She cannot see the monk's face, but in that moment there is a deeper sadness than any other present have seen on it, and the hint of something else....something Michael remembers all too well in himself.

It had been barely more than an hour or two since her teeth had closed on Tami.

Assuming Melody agrees, Vai waits for the loading to finish, and then carries the supplies off to their destination, and returning shortly in a small flash of Light. She reverts herself to her half-elven form and walks over to Melody. "Hey." she says, looking a bit worn, but staying fully upright. "What's up?"

hey Vai. I see you are more, yourself. that is good. I mean, I hope you are feeling alright. well i was wondering, I still want us to be roomies and all, I don't want you feel like either of us has to leave.

Yeah.. I got nothing. :/

Unless you're about to go on a rampage. That I totally get.

A 'rampage' is most...chaotic - and is...not the appropriate response.

Something much more....focused is required.

The young monk takes a centering breath after Ace's last comment, then strides out of the Cafeteria. Unlike his usual method of walking around others in a crowded space, Fei makes a straight line for the doors.

Once outside, he rises off of the ground limned in silver-white flames. He then rockets through the air at speed to the one place he can even fathom being appropriate (and private) enough for what he must do.

He returns to the crater he made only a short time ago, landing gently in the sterile ash at the edge closest to the trees...

I believe in this case the term would be 'proportional response'. A rampage is less....provoked. ;)

Also, I think he might mean plain old helpless rage against the injustice of it all...

Lyn, I will obviously need your input before this can go any further...

Keme tries weakly to struggle, but his movements are wooden and inefficient, like he's not really in control of them. And his body is too weak to fight effectively. Fei would guess that the young kitsune is fighting against his patron's control and is making it hard for her to truly take control of him as much as he was still able to do so.

Strangely, in the area in and around the crater, there are small flecks of... what looks like electric-blue snow gently falling - though Fei could not say from where. They shine in the post-sunset darkness, making them standout against the inky blackness of the night.

If Fei attempts to touch these flecks, his hand passes directly though them - they are not wholly there.

Lang can sense that Midori is worried about missing the tea time she had planned. he seems to think a bit figuring out what to do and say.

Well we are not leaving until lunch time. I still need to deliver this invitation to Ignace and her family. and I still need to invite master Blackscales.

Lang looks to the girls. yes lets go inside and find Sun

as they walk lang tries to explain about the trip. I guess you could have your party in the morning, or you can wait and have it back at my temple. you know we drink tea as well and have a lovely tea garden that the elders enjoy. Oh ans as far as dress, the fact that you would be there with me is all i care about not what you are wearing. just...ahh..midori...we do not allow bladed weapons in the temple.

Lang suddenly realizes he never really answered midori's question. Oh yeah the ceremony, while I was away I completed all of my tests, I am to be elevated to Sifu, or master air bender. this grants me permission to teach my art to others. also, I believe representatives of the other temples are coming for me to be presented as the new Avatar

Villem, to Aridiente's awareness and study appears as aggressive as a warm breeze in the earlier Summer days, which is to say, not at all. Plus, no deception appears to be present in his words when speaking.

"Ready to spring in and strike, are you, warrior? Well, it appears my various offers to give shelter to travelers will be refused... even if politely by both. A pity, really, I have fashioned quite a city here. Tell me, though, messengers, what if /I/, as a Firebird, did not wish the ancestral home to be undone? Has the new regime already made decisions 'for the good of all Firebirds'?"

His tone was clearly sharp, insinuating that the new government, if any, was taking control in a manner as before. Perhaps he favored a Democratic process?

"Or is this the point of your message, nameless, young, interesting plummage and colored, non-guests that seem to recoil in a fashion to my mere presence? Merely an effort on your own parts to soothe guilt which /you/ had no hand in? I do appreciate the gesture, but I have done nothing to be kept at such lengths ... Have you no names you wish to share? To whom do I give thanks for this news? This reconnecting with members of the Firebird culture I was so rudely removed from so many years ago?"

The interior of this room, it might be noted is shined silver, smooth and seemingly melted or formed into a large dome shape. There are no windows or doors out, save the still open two behind which provided entry earlier.

Ginni had been going to look for Ace after she said goodbye to Melody, but then someone came and got her to come and sit with Morrivan. Someone had taken Morrivan aside to tell her that her cousin Rodhas was a casualty of the attack and that he wasn't coming back. She found a secluded corner of the garden outside the cafeteria to take Morrivan to so that her friend could cry without having to deal with people staring at her. It broke her heart listening to Morrivan cry as she hugged her. No matter how much she wanted to help, there wasn't anything she could actually do to make this better.

Villem smiles at Raelle's comments and then nods after a moment.

"As you did, as you did. I sought to find your last names, but, alas-- I will be denied. Quite impressive, youngsters. Quite impressive indeed. You have /nothing/ to fear from me, not here, not in this roost of mine. You are, as I've said, guests. A host, no matter what their temperament, mistreats their guests-- that is a sign of weakness."

Glancing into the place for a moment, then back at the two he says then, "I am not responsible for the choice of the beings below-- that is their choice and destiny. I am merely a part of a much larger puzzle that in my later years, have finally found truth. Those beings below, are no more my responsibility than the millions of lives outside of this village and beyond-- into the heavens and stars."

When he speaks of them, it's clear to Aridiente's Sense Motive he speaks of the people as he would the air, or earth beneath his feet.

There's an odd grin on Villem's face. "You two know this, do you? That there are countless worlds beyond here, filled with others? Beings such as us, born of Fire, of the bright light that comes of it? Or of the opposite, the darkness that comes from too much illumination, or the burning flames? Fuego Helios was such a short sighted fool-- torn apart, how delightful to hear that our fellow Firebirds seem willing to stoop to such savagery, still."

The latter part is said while considering Aridiente.

Then back to Raelle, who Villem clearly appears more clearly relating too, probably due to her diplomatic manner, "What will become of our race then? Who will guide in the future? I advocated steps-- steps which would have assured us power and strength over threats that loomed, but, no one would heed my words. Is there room still among my peers now that the old Council is removed for a soothsayer or speaker of the future? I only wish to be heard-- to share my visions."

He dwells for a moment and then says, "I ... was warned, that a time like this would come. That someone of earth and fire, with a mate of patterns and smoke, both with great destiny etched in their beings, would come. That you two would come. I haven't just waited, I have continued in my goals, but I knew... and now, here you are. As predicted."

Still, to the Sense Motive of Aridiente, he hasn't lied yet. He doesn't seem cautious at all, and above all else, he's seeming very social and laid back, perhaps a hint excited.

She blushed when he spoke of warnings of the future and the descriptions of what was presumably herself and Ardiente.

"Umm...there's a refugee camp outside of a city called Kuros. That's where they're taking people. I think...I think that once the sun has been destroyed that they're planning to decide on things like where to build communities and what sort of government to have...if you want to have a say in all of that you should go there. With the council gone there's no one to say that you have no right to be there," she said, gaining confidence as she spoke.

"You said you were warned...and you spoke of a friend before...is that who warned you? You are some sort of diviner? I...can see why the council might not have liked that. They didn't like challenges to their power."
