Love the imagery there. :)
It took quite a lot of effort, but eventually it looked like the seal might be slipping. She watched carefully, trying to piece together what wasn't working right as she sent more and more boulders flying at Fei, building up more and more kinetic energy around him.
Figure that expedites things well enough. :)

"Here." Asch says as he pulls the map out showing everyone where to go.
"Okay, well, it looks like that's only a day or two away from here. We'll still have plenty of time to get the cure to Amada...Are you holding up okay, Asch? It's just, you've been really quiet, and I know you don't have the best history with...er, anyways, I just wanted to say, we're here if you need to talk or anything."
Taron Sunwake |
"Interesting. That's a really good illusion of sky right there. Clouds and everything."
'oh, the clouds are quite natural. There is so much space between us and the ceiling that we have atmospheric layers. I also figured out a while ago that the blue coloring comes from gemstones like azurite, sapphires, iolite, zircon, etc. My ancestors thought of just about everything to fight off the initial claustrophobia of their allies.'
Arielle |
Lk shivers as he steps through the portal, and looks about worriedly.
"This place is nice, but... but I can't feel the Moon down here. It just feels wrong to me."
"Hey, look at me. It's okay, Canis. Not all worlds have moons, you know. It's....it's not really any different than when your powers were first bound. That suddenly limited feeling. I feel it too here, but it's okay. And it's only for a little bit, right? So, let's just enjoy ourselves while we're here," she said, giving him a reassuring hug.
Asch Redgrave |
Assuming it's Asch's fathers castle/keep.
"The last time I was here it was as a prisoner my father caught me soon after my mothers murder… It wasn't exactly fun times. He kept me in the dungeon and would only let me out to fight for his amusement mostly to see what kind of punishment my body could take. The only reason I got out was cause of Amada and herbrother they found me." he says quietly almost to himself.

"Wait...Amada's brother helped you? I thought he hated you....Well, never mind, I guess it's not so important. Things aren't going to go that way this time. You're stronger than last time, and you're not alone. He's never going to use you that way again," she said, determined.

I do what I can, neh? :)
It took quite a lot of effort, but eventually it looked like the seal might be slipping. She watched carefully, trying to piece together what wasn't working right as she sent more and more boulders flying at Fei, building up more and more kinetic energy around him.
Fei has turned out to be quite a bit more 'durable' than his human frame would suggest - he has been able to weather Aananda'a onslaught of boulders despite not being able to dodge them this time. As she observes his technique, she is able to send more boulders in on trajectories he can't quite deflect, and they start to make more solid contact with him.
After several minutes of this, one boulder clips his shoulder and spins him around. He does his best to recover, but the boulder coming in at his eye level is going to connect before he can properly deflect it. Fei puts his hand out at the last second in a vain attempt to shield his face...
And the boulder hangs in midair for just a blink of an eye - just long enough for Aananda to notice the change - before it drops straight down to the floor and out of his hand. She immediately senses that the wards have been shattered - their magic is broken.
Fei's face contorts slightly, as if he was reacting to a sudden headache.
Figure that expedites things well enough. :)
Quite :D

"Well, this should get interesting now. Okay, we're going to keep going now and I don't want you to worry about anything. The only person down here besides you is me and I'm well out of range, not to mention perfectly capable of hiding inside the wall if your range is bigger than I anticipated. So don't feel like you have to hold anything back. Now, let's get back to it," she said, sending the rocks back to swirling as she went back to throwing them at him, barely giving him time to adjust to the headache.
Agarthian Storyteller |
"I'll get over it." He says. "Come on, let's go get the V.I.P. tour of this school."
"Hm. Okay, I think I can do that." Taron says as he leads the way. It doesn't seem to take a lot of time to get to the school and taron points out the sign in front of it.
"Welcome to Avalon, Antairus' School for Overly Gifted Youth. The number of kids in there that are just like will blow your mind!" Taron says with a laugh as he opens the door.
"It would appear we've gotten here in time for second period." He watches the rush of students inside the school and smiles. "There's no place like school."
Arielle |
*deep breath*
"I smell lycanthropes. They wouldn't happen to be the people you said would be interested in me, would they, Taron?"
"Yes. Just say you're from Anderail and you'll be fine. It's a nice place really, huge forests full of all kinds of fauna."
"Anderail...I think I vaguely remember, and that would take a lot less explaining than the reality. Okay."
Fei, of the Sun Soul |
Fei nods quickly before quickly blocking another boulder. Like before, when he contacts the rock it simply stops in its tracks and drops to the ground before him.
He starts adjusting his position as the boulders start to pile up around him, staying in motion to avoid being buried by them.
After a couple of moments of this (and nowhere near as long as it took to crack the wards), Fei stops moving as another boulder comes around from behind him. He throws his hand out to stop it, and instead of dropping, there is a brief tremor in the rock before it shatters into small rubble pelting the area around him in a hail of stoney shards.
Because of the small debris zipping through the air, Aananda is able to discern a distortion or disturbance in the air immediately around Fei. Also, his face looks strained - something she hasn't seen before with him.
Autohypnosis roll to maintain concentration:
1d20 + 32 - 1 ⇒ (19) + 32 - 1 = 50
Whew. Good job, lad.... ;)
Aanandareavekki |
"Fei, please forgive me for this, but I am going to keep pushing you now. I think I can almost see..."
She gives him a small respite to get a hold of himself through the pain, but then resumes throwing rocks at him, pushing him to his limits to find out just how far he can go.
Krays |
"How does the item work? Will he simply need to grasp it, or is it activated? I mean simply giving it to him might be enough..."
Solivala |
Purely making up stuff feel free to correct me.
"The item must be attuned to him and will remove the traditional weaknesses of a vampire. This will not make him unstopable but will allow him to overcome all but those of equal or greater power then himself. I doubt the attunement will be quick, also it could be assumed that he would gain some powers against undead. After all that is what the item was created for, this is supported by the fear of the rival vampires. If he attains the item he may gain some but not all of its power, normally the more powerful the effect the longer the attunement phase takes. He would likely gain its weakest effects first gaining access to greater effects as time wore on. This is my theory."
Krays |
"What would really be funny is if he missunderstood how it was supposed to work, and it cured his vampirism instead."

"What would really be funny is if he missunderstood how it was supposed to work, and it cured his vampirism instead."
"But what kind of messed up people devoted to fighting the undead would lock away a cure for...oh, never mind. I forgot. Fanatics are weird. And rarely sensible. Trying to understand their logic is like trying to figure out what color the smell of five is."
"I guess we'll just have to cross that bride when we get there since I don't think we have any real way to figure out what the artifact does."
Solivala |
"Have any of you considered that it does not cure vampirism but rather remove the weaknesses of a vampire. You would remain a vimpire but one free of any drawbacks, one that may even have the ability to create more such as itself. How could a world deal with such creatures, even a weak vampire of that sort could kill and spawn countless more. A plague of vampires immune to daylight, without need to hide they could tirelessly bring down almost any world. This could have been the fear of those that guarded the item. Just another theory to consider."
Solivala flips another page of his book.
Ephebe |
She glanced away from the road for a second to look at Solivala as she answered. Her eyes seemed gold for a second before they changed back to their normal appearance.
"No. They couldn't. Death tends to really take exceptions to that sort of thing. I don't think it's a coincidence that we have the group we do here. It's most likely Krays's first big assignment since coming back to the job. Not that expect you to understand a word of that."
"But since it also involved Asch's family, well, I think it's pretty important to take his wishes into account to. I don't know if you know what that desperation feels like. When the people who matter more than anything else are in danger."
She looked back at the road swerving slightly to get back onto it.

"Well he didn't know what I was at the time and when Amada ran away with me it certainly didn't make him like me. I never found out why they were there I think it had something to do with his sword. And as long as it doesn't threaten Amada's life I definitely want him dead."
Solivala |
Solivala stops reading for a moment.
"Death has little to do with creation, this item is nothing unique in fact....."
Solivala stopped himself, his orbs frozen for a moment before taking orbit again.
"Never mind, I seemed to have lost my place."
An orb points out where he was and he keeps reading. He had nearly let something slip, the kobold had been around when he rebuilt Ephebe. So far he had kept his word, he was not going to expand that to others.
Taron Sunwake |
"Wow," she said, eyes big with surprise. "I've never really been around a lot of other kids before and I've never seen so many in one place before."
"I don't suppose you would have. Despite recent events... a bit of a family feud I gues you could call it, it's pretty much a decent place to be. Most of the times there are even wards that can stop a fight before the first blow connects."
"Anderail...I think I vaguely remember, and that would take a lot less explaining than the reality. Okay."
"It's not surprising, I guess. I have traced a lot of Agartha's cities back to their original locations, and most of them are from different realities, planes of existence, and planets. I wouldn't have guessed you were old enough to remember where Anderail used to be, but maybe I'm completely misunderstanding." Taron says with a shrug.
"Who would like to try some Agarthian cuisine?"
Little Kiba |
"Who would like to try some Agarthian cuisine?"
Canis, who had a strange look on his face he watched a student hurry pass(to his History class and a certain tiefling girl, though Canis couldn't know that), turns his attention back to Taron.
"As long as we don't have to try to out eat you, I'd like to see what you eat around here. I've heard school food is terrible, so I've got a morbid curiosity about eating here."
Arielle |
Arielle shook her head, completely transfixed by the sight of so many young people in one place.
"Huh? No, I mean I remember being told about Andereil. I don't think I've been there. I mean I've been a lot of places, and my memory is weird since a lot of it is borrowed from my sister so I'd know what it was like to be a child. Although she lived centuries and centuries ago. But anyways, I'm pretty sure that's one I just know from stories."
"Food. Yes, food would be good, and don't worry, I'm not as picky of an eater as Canis," she said with a wink.
Taron Sunwake |
Canis says "I'm not picky!" at the same time Taron says "Atlantean Dung Shrimp it is then!". With a laugh at their faces, Taron shakes his head and leads them to the cafeteria. He explains what each food is called and where it comes from, refusing to say what any of it is actually made of.
"If I told what it was, you might not eat it and miss out on the wonderful delicacies Agartha has to offer. Besides, I don't know what's in half of them either!" ;)
Vakkler Relkav |
Some of these new students look a little familiar...
Vakkler is sitting in his office, bored out of his mind, when he senses a disturbance.
He tastes the air and grumbles.
"Is that another werewolf? Blasted school's getting an awful lot of them."
He makes a mental note to forge some silver weaponry, just in case.
Fei, of the Sun Soul |
"Fei, please forgive me for this, but I am going to keep pushing you now. I think I can almost see..."
She gives him a small respite to get a hold of himself through the pain, but then resumes throwing rocks at him, pushing him to his limits to find out just how far he can go.
The air around Fei begins to take on a more pronounced distortion as Aananda sends more and more rocks at him. The physical pain seems to have reached a breaking point in the young human, as he no longer tries to deflect the stony missiles - he just brings his forearms up to shield his face and just tries to weather the non-stop pummeling. The stones start pulverizing into gravel as they hit his bruised body.
Aananda notices it almost too late, but there appears to be a sudden imbalance in the flow of kinetic energy going through Fei as the distortion around him suddenly 'flares'. He screams, his skin splitting open in multiple places across his body as if something were trying to rip him apart from the inside. His arms drop as he convulses in agony - right as a rock slams him full-tilt in the head before Aananda can stop it.
The impact takes Fei off of his feet and sends him crashing to the ground, unconscious. As he hits, the distortion around him vanishes - and the whole chamber starts to shake violently. The screaming sound of rock splitting reverberates through the walls, as the earth under Avalon starts to buckle and heave...
Aanandareavekki |
Her first instinct was to go and check on Fei to make sure he was still breathing, but unfortunately she had bigger things to worry about as she extended her senses and control into the rock surrounding Avalon, cancelling the waves running through the rock causing the earthquake. She had to be careful to get the vibrations exact or she'd just make the earthquake worse, so she had to keep careful concentration. It took everything she had to pull the earthquake back under control and repair the rocks under Avalon and the building's foundations. Before she passed out from exhaustion she hit a button on her headband.
"Need medical assistance for a student in practice room A. Related to earthquake," she managed to get out and then everything went black.

Let's see....the epic level earthbender almost wasn't enough to fix it...nope, not over the top at all. sadly I can say that with no sarcasm whatsoever....Given the power levels of the kids at this school I'm starting to think that the wards around Agartha are as much to protect the rest of the Empire from us. ;P

Tru. Now Fei will have to wear a sign that says "Do Not Fondle - Contents Will Rupture Under Pressure" wherever he goes. Talk about a one-way trip to social networking extinction... ^.^
