Just for the record, Vai is using a wooden practice sword, not a real weapon. SO I didn't roll damage. She's just trying to "tag" Adon. Which she's not gonna do with those rolls.
Is it a House Rule for this game, that we can roll a d20 and add our Intelligence bonus to any untrained Knowledge skill? I.e. any skill without at least 1 rank in it?
If so, AWESOME.
Someone let me know! Cause, that's going to change reactions a lot going forward.

I personally find the idea of "trained-only" skills un-appealing. They negate what I call "the Luck of Heroes". Even if you don't know how to open a lock, if you stick something in an jiggle enough, it might come free.
A fighter no ranks in spellcraft might recognize a spell that's been cast at him before, etc etc.
If I allow this sort of thing, I generally make it so they can't "Take 20" on a disable device check for example. The dice roll represents luck, and sometimes heroes get lucky. Sometimes they don't.

If the character hasn't seen the thing (Benders for example) he isn't going to know that's what's going on with a lucky die roll... If he has a giant int bonus.... It's because he choose it and not because he knows a little of everything.... That's why I like trained skills...
Fighter can recognize a previously cast spell.... Only if he memorized the spell gestures and seen it before...
If you can't pick the lock... Find the rogue or break down the door
I like the rule they have for knowledge skills for that. Aka it the DC of such tasks are I think it was 10 or lower you can make a check untrained maybe the dc was 15 not quite sure. It seems reasonable since if the task is so involving, luck is not going to help. But I may be bais since I have class abilities to allow for untrained checks in knowledge.
Not going with the untrained knowledge skills, for just the reasons states. That's what we've been doing so far, unless you have a class ability like Salis does, if you've never ever studied something, you just don't know it because the material is brand new to you.
Much more lenient about using other skills untrained, because sometimes you get lucky. But knowledge skills...there's got to be some reason to study. :P
And a reason to be a bard ;)
My main point for bringing it up is two-fold:
1) It negates the need for 'training' skills, unless we employ the rules for untrained things; i.e. limit to DC10 checks at most, no stat bonuses for untrained usable skills, etc. (Per the rules)
2) It really *does* kick anyone in the butt who has put a rank into the skill, thus removing any 'need' for training. This is my bigger issue, if people playing (the Bard, for example) a class with a priority on skills, than say, magic (which supplements skills it appears), bit rude.
So-- untrained, at best, DC10, success with a roll? Or can we potentially get 20+ appropriate stat bonus on a lucky roll? Just follow the rules?
Just wanna make sure, so I can RP appropriately. Appreciate some clarification here.

I just put one rank in all the trained only skills i can use not ones like fly and ride gets past that and good stats give the real plus.

Re:knowledge skills. Following the rules as already set out here. Can make an untrained knowledge check for stuff less than DC10...anything else you just don't know what you don't know.
I wouldnt mind being a fly on the wall for that.... Sorry Adon... You shouldnt mess with them... even in practice...

weapon enchantment- changes damage to non-leathal ad adds 1d6. can turn it off with a command word. and he exploded it.

I have to agree about the extra member. From what I figure we will need a drummer and some one for base guitar. If ether one is not filled I can do ether, but it will limit me on my bending.
I got base guitar, can drum instead but it would cut down on my flying guitar stuff.

I don't listen to much of the heavy stuff, no metal, no rap, almost no hip hop, mostly southern rock & country.
Dave may be different as far as his musical tastes go, haven't decided, though he doesn't think of rap as music (my own opinion as well)
