As for the plot complications this brings...I could use a few suggestions for how to untangle this mess I've written Ephebe into...

I'm honestly not sure. I'm torn about what would be best for the story at this point. That's why I asked for suggestions. I'd rather not make her into a tragic character if I can help it, but beyond that, I don't really quite know.
It's usually more of a mental thing, though I suspect there is at least some physical aspect to it. But there's no telling what the inclusion of Hunter DNA has done to her. Add in that his mind is as chaotic as his body and it does leave the possibility of imprint confusion. Just trying to reconcile that with the stuff from the snipe hunt and decide if that's the right way to go story wise.
Would it stand to reason that since they imprint, a "crush" would hit harder than a normal teenage girl? I'd assume they'd still go through all the stuff a "normal" adolescent would, it'd just be way more intense.
Just a thought...maybe she discovers after his absence that she didn't actually imprint, or that she started to but it takes longer that an instant, and something "reset"...
Plus, didn't her brother reality-bend to give Spin her abilities in the snipe hunt? Possibly this did something to the imprint itself?
Apologies for my absence today. Kidlet got sent home from school and he needs lots of supervision to actually get through writing apology letters since he of course doesn't want to. It's his most dreaded punishment.
Anyways...I'm kind of letting ideas percolate right now. Trying to balance the need for a retcon with not wanting to make the imprinting less than what it is.

If I'm remembering correctly, the demon made several as-of-yet unspecified 'modifications' to Ephebe's current body...it seems easy enough to say something like the actual ability to imprint was removed (as it would have served the demon no great purpose, since it couldn't be forced to occur to bond her to him), and the only thing left is a kind of psychic 'echo' that feels like it.
Option the Second:
Ephebe works for a god of Time - if Kronos doesn't want her bonding with someone (because he feels his 'to do' list is more important), he simply rewrites that moment in time. This one is much more heavy handed, but he could 'undo' it.
Yeah, that about sums it up. What I need is something in between the two. Still percolating. I have the beginnings of a possible idea, but I'm not there yet. Don't want to screw this up twice. :)
And inspiration strikes while I was washing dishes. I know how to fix it now. :)
Okay, basic plan. Krays finds a note from Spin in their formerly shared room telling him that Spin is withdrawing from school. In his backstory he said he wanted to be a spy just like his father, so I'm thinking maybe he got an opportunity to do that and it was too good to pass up. After all he's sixteen and not likely thinking about long-term consequences of his actions. :)
Krays can choose when to share that info with Ephebe. I have a clear plan now of how I'm going to deal with that from her side of things. And thanks to all of you guys for helping me talk through it until I found the best way to make it work. It was much appreciated.
Next question...since Spin is gone...how would Krays feel about having Jiminy as a roommate?
He likes Jim...he really does. Krays is lawful, however and likes organization. He's not anal-retentive or anything, but probably wouldn't like sifting through trash to get to his bed :P (he's heard stories). If he can tone that down i think they'd make great roomates.
Becasue of his actual background (if you go with the dragon bit), I dunno if an exposure to vast amounts of chaos is a good idea :P

If he is a history teacher then he now has Solivala. Which would be so insane mind you. If not then I doubt my guy would fit for any class he would teach.

Have him go to class. Rearrange the order of the classes if you need to. Sorry there aren't more people in interactive mode right now. Damage control threw a monkey wrench in my plot darn it. :)

Bad timing on my part, that - it looks like you weren't online when I threw that small post from Fei up in the cafeteria regarding the conversation with Nala, and then he got swept back up in 'nursing' duties. I speak from experience when I say it can be hard sometimes to shoe-horn your way into the story... ;)
Except for maybe at breakfast or outside of class, I don't see Fei and Solivala crossing paths much yet. Fei has an 'Introduction to Agartha' course for his first period, but I'm pretty sure that's not the same class as Solivala's, since it's geared for the folks who aren't Agarthan natives.

You and me both. I've been hung up on this commission I just can't finish. Every time I try to draw it I end up throwing away the sketch cause it looks like crap. And I feel too guilty about not finishing it to move on to something else. :/

I did a bunch to get practice and then I stopped. But I took this one as a favor because it was meant to be a companion piece to one I had done earlier. Part of the problem is that my style has changed so much since then. I don't even work in the same medium. So going back to the blank background and colored pencils is not sitting well with me. Especially since it takes like five layers of color to achieve an effect that almost kind of mimics what I can do with watercolor.

I'm fine with a pencil and paper...maybe some colored pencils if I feel colorful :) I just started messing with inking stuff a couple years ago...haven't had the time to really get into it that much.

My main worry is whether I'm portraying his low Charisma properly. My idea, which doesn't quite follow the proper definition, is that while he can act very cool and frightening, he's unable to back off. If somebody angers him, he has a LOT of trouble staying away.This is a bit close to Wisdom, but it hopefully works if you see Wisdom as knowing you should leave it be, and Charisma as being able to do so gracefully.

Way Vakkler sees it, Solivala is being snide and arrogant, trying to show off his speed. He's not just doing this because the student's reading ahead. :P
For the record Solivala is completely blank on expressions, body language, and voice tones. He is not going out of his way to show off or anything, thats just normal speed for him. :)
But really I wonder if old Vakkler is aware of that or not. Maybe he is blinded by the drow-ness. ;D
Sorry for the sparse posting today. Last day of school plus kidlet needing to go to the doctor for an asthma flareup means no sitting down time for me. And now I'm off to the pharmacy.
It's kind of a busy week for me in general. I'll be online Monday, but Tuesday we're flying to Florida. Taking the kidlet to Disney for his b-day. And won't be back until Sunday. I'll try to check in from time to time, but as you can imagine I won't have a lot of time during that week.

Well, I think between what few moments I can get today or over the weekend and then Monday we can wrap up the current scenario. And then I'm pretty much off for a week. I might throw up an occasional post, but that's about all. So aside from any craziness Vakkler might get up to probably not a lot going on during that time. :)
