Well, at least I can delete the bad link.
And I finally tracked down the original image and put up a new not broken link.

Uh, not quite Lyn. I went to save Bradley's pic, and I'm being asked to use a program to open it(via like the windows popup thingy), vs just going to a site.

These new avatars are all pretty neat. I like this raccoon guy. I identify well with raccoons because I'm chubby, nocturnal, have dark marks under my eyes, and eat mostly junk. He's so fancy in his nice shirt. And he's an agathion, so he's a good aligned outsider.
I found some I was gonna recommend to you guys:
Ice, there's one called Helmet that would be a great one for your construct Leonal. Metal lion looking dealie.
Lyn, there's one that made me think of that one pic you linked a couple years ago that might be good for you. I think the name was doc imogene?
Also considering making Kevin the blue salamander.
Kevin Ramos |
This doesn't look any more like Kevin than the bowl of good does.
What do y'all think? Is it worth having a reptile shape if it doesn't actually look like him or should I leave it vague with the bowl of goop?

Ugh. Well, okay, then. I can't actually provide a link to that pic because it's the only site that has it. Sigh. It was working last night. Briefly. Can't win em all.

This one makes me associate Kevin even more with Bob from Monsters vs Aliens. This is not necessarily a good or bad thing. It's just a thing. :)

I couldn't find the one you're talking about. It doesn't come up when I search for that name, and it's so easy to get distracted by all the pretty, pretty pictures when I just look through it. :)
Etain Pyralis |
But I did find a new pic for Etain, which I think communicates his personality better. He's not the angry one. He leaves that to Alev and Elektra.

Been reading old Phaezeriel posts to give myself better context for Vai's reactions.
on the bright side I found all the old info on what he was supposed to be doing for Chara's condition. on the not so bright side, I've given her condition two different names and now I don't know which one to keep: smogra's syndrome or charzine's syndrome.

I imagine this actually happens in real life quite a bit (two names for the same illness) so you can probably explain it away as both ;)
Smogra sounds like a pokemon though hah.

lol. Yeah, a bit. And I can just imagine the dueling physicians who both claimed to have discovered the sickness, the name of which varies depending on which medical textbook you happen to read. :)
Or Chara just got the name wrong. Cause she's seven. :PEdit: Or the disease was discovered by one Charzine Smogra and naming conventions are just weird. :)

WOW WHAT AN AWESOME AMAZING WEEKEND OF WRESTLING!!
Back online, any responses required of me?
Glad you had fun. :)
Let's see... Ardiente needs to take his action for the round. Morrivan is waiting on Sil in that conversation. And Ace was talking to Tami, although I don't know that you had anything more to add there. That's all I can think of off the top of my head. :)
Arthur Barren |
Would you be alright if Arthur puts his hands shoulder width apart on the cylinder to analyze it and you come out right between those arms?
I remember his rolls to identify the thing they were 52 for know (engineering and architecture)/diplomacy on the object to get it to tell me what it is
28 for know (alien), 26 for know (arcana) and a Psionic casting of identify.
Ardiente 'Scorch' |
Dunno that fire bending at a firebird will work that well...
Good thing I also seem to have earth bending.
Not sure if I can do any damage with it, but then again, I have no idea what I can do with it period.
Maybe I can create a rock prison, or stomp on the ground and toss one of them away. Or stun or blind them.
Idk, just looking for more options beyond 'grapple check, if successful deal damage'.

bending basics
Useful seeds in this circumstance include cold blooded firebending, excavate,
Activation: Standard action
Maintenance: None
Duration: Instantaneous
Stomping the ground aggressively, the Earthbender causes packed clay or stone to burst upwards, trapping the target creature.
• Applications: Sheets of crystal, stone, or packed clay burst from the ground and wrap around a single medium-sized or smaller target within the earthbender’s bending range. The target must make a Reflex save or be immobilized. An immobilized target may not move, attack, bend, or take any action that requires movement, but is not considered helpless. Those who fail the Reflex save can make a Strength check or Escape Artist check as a full-round action to break free. They can also be dug out by dealing 50 points of damage to the earth. Increasing the Earthbending DC by +5 for each size category above medium allows an Earthbender can capture larger creatures. An Earthbender may capture 1 additional creature for every 10 by which her Earthbending check exceeds the DC
And
Activation: Standard action
Maintenance: None
Duration: Instantaneous
By opening a fissure directly beneath an opponent’s feet and snapping it suddenly shut around his chest, an earthbender can disable powerful opponents before they become a threat.
• Engulf: An earthbender opens a large crack directly beneath her opponent’s feet, causing him to fall in, then snaps the crevice shut around him. The target receives a Reflex save to avoid falling into the fissure up to his neck. A target of this form is considered helpless while engulfed, though he may take any actions not requiring somatic components and can escape with a DC 25 Strength or a DC 40 Escape Artist check, or he may be dug out of his predicament. If this seed is done on a stone surface, the target also takes 4d6 bludgeoning damage on a failed save.
Your bonus to the check is +35 for cold blooded firebending and +34 for the others mentioned
According to your sheet you also have stunning fist with a +2 to the DC

FYI - I will be out of pocket starting this afternoon until Thursday. I have to attend a training event out of state with one of my bosses, and will probably have no free time to post (though I will try to do so).
Apologies in advance if I'm slow on any replies ;)

So, here's the thing. You only get to see one side of the combat. Going in to this, I was reasonably worried about the possibility of a TPK. It could have happened very easily. But smart tactics and luck have saved the day, even if they didn't look super cool doing it. First off, you guys used silence and stealth to their maximum advantage. Ardiente to disrupt the spell casting, and Fei to get Raelle out. Even Alev contributed since he kept Ollifer in the silence field long enough to prevent him effectively giving/receiving orders. If you hadn't done that Aine and Aithne would have used Raelle as a hostage (if we stop the spell the magic goes haywire and she's right in the center, she'll die) and while Fiilah and the other two (I'm out of naming ideas so we'll just call them Fyre and Smoak and have done with it) were not overpowered combatants, Ollifer was. If not for a very lucky shot and some really crazy alchemical goo there would have been deaths. And then Fei rendered Aine unconscious, taking her out of the fight. (The alchemical goo is nowhere near enough to really render her powerless. If she regains consciousness, then things get real.) And the only reason Aithne isn't wiping the floor with y'all is that Ardiente has been consistently dealing enough damage to him to mess up his concentration checks. Cause he can totally do a still, silent spell....if he didn't keep losing it. (Some rolls I do off screen just to not give away too much about an opponent, especially if they have the potential to become a recurring villain.) So basically, while it hasn't necessarily felt as awesome as it actually was, Ardiente has been a key reason why the PCs currently have the upper hand.
Which they can just as quickly lose. Aithne isn't out of this fight yet....Just thought it might help to get some perspective from the other side of things.

Having a bad asthma day, which is definitely doing bad things to my memory and concentration. Apparently brain needs oxygen. How annoying. ;)
So I'm probably not going to post much today. Might get a Ryleh post up later, but I have so many balls in the air right now, it's hard to keep track of who is supposed to be where and know what. Apologies for delays.

Hey there, Lynora (et al).
Sorry for the delays, will update tomorrow provided work isn't completely busy busy, as it was today.
Your last post with Andromeda made me laugh out loud, for real'z.
Hope you're feeling better and rested.
Glad to entertain. :)
I'm really enjoying playing with the differences between Andromeda and Ephebe. And seeing Andromeda moving farther and farther away from her previous hyper achieving type A personality. :)Monkeygod |
Looking over the Bending stuff, and they don't have stats for Iroh :(
How would you stat up, class wise, the Dragon of the West, for Avalon.
Cuz obviously he would normally be just Firebender all the way, but I feel that doesn't truly capture his full capabilities and personality.
Monkeygod |
Well personality would be done via RP but stats there are feats for someone who has studied other bending styles and there is special tea under the items section
Sure, but for example, if you wanted to represent him being a great general, there's classes that fit that.
Of course, you could just choose feats and roleplay him being wise and tactical, but where's the fun in that? lol. Hence my asking for a gestalt build, as if were to be made for Avalon.
Also, not asking for a full build, just classes.
Lord Foul II |
I'd go with bard 3/cavalier 3/battle herald 10/fire bender 16
Other options include, off the top of my head, the tactician psionic class and the warlord path of war class
Bonus points on bard for the fact that he totally has a few ranks in preform and he even put a small band together in the first season
What was it he played? Suki horn?

Ice, sorry I'm a bit behind on PMs. Or at least on the ones that require more than a short answer. I will try to get to them tomorrow. :)
No worries.
I assumed you were busy, I just keep sending things because the stream of consciousness doesn't turn off.lynora |
Ugh. So exhausted. All day at the eye doctor. Our yearly expedition. We go to a super special eye doctor cause we're all special snowflakes when it comes to vision. Except apparently my vision problems are actually ear problems. Kidlet has the same problems. Good news: if her hunch is right I won't end up losing my hearing after all, if mennieres turns out to be the wrong diagnosis. Got a referral to go see a new ENT. Some potential hope for treatment for debilitating problems that keep me from doing a lot of things. We'll have to see if anything comes of that. Anyhoo, long story short, after all those tests I am absolutely beat. Posting tomorrow when my head will hopefully hurt less. :)
