No one has anything concrete. Some say that it was supposed to protect the town against attack, but that obviously didn't work. Some believed that it repels sorcery. Everyone has a different story, but for the most part, it seems to be an oddity that drew tourists to the town and gave it a little boost to its economy.

Sliver. |

Sliver is saddened by the dwarf's pessimism about forming an alliance with the elves, but there is a history there so he doesn't push.

Morak looks at Sliver, Buck up, lad. The elves and us got some bad blood, but that doesn't mean we cannot start making amends. I think we need help from Waterdeep to begin rebuilding efforts...

Sliver. |

Sliver just nods. "We'll stay for a few days to make sure that the danger has passed. Then we'll go to Waterdeep to see if we can get you some help."

![]() |

Well, as long as you are here, you have rooms at my inn, the dwarf smiles and holds up his mug in toast, To the heroes of Nightstone! May your story be ever-told!

Dalron Cleric of Ilmater |

"Thank you good sir, a warm bed to sleep in would be nice. And if I could trouble you for a small area for me to make some potions?"
Everyday that we spend at Nightstone I will try to make healing potions (up to 6 days, 150 gp worth) If any one else has something else they would want me to make, just let me know

Morak thinks a bit then nods toward the tiefling woman, If anything, Destiny would have space for that. She is quite the accomplished herbalist.

Snow's lute strings carry a happy and upbeat tune throughout the inn and for the first time in the last couple of weeks, the townsfolk laugh and enjoy the night!
Aukan arm wrestles Broland Osstra, the nephew of the Osstras. The boy is strong but not quite able to pull off a win against the goliath! A good sport, he buys the round of drinks!

You guys stay for a couple of days, and help the townsfolk of Nightstone rebuild what you can. It becomes very apparent though that they need lumber and the general store can only provide so much, in terms of building supplies.
What is your next move? To Waterdeep, or attempt to treat with the elves of Ardeep forest?

Dalron Cleric of Ilmater |

Is few 2 or 3 days? just for making potions.
"Perhaps the Elves will be more receptive with the death of Lady Nandar. Since there was bad blood between the Nandar 's and the Elves."
"I thought that the town had logging rights in the Ardeep woods from the elves already?"

We will say 3. But in AL, spending DT is kind of abstract so have at it. I, personally, tend to spend within the narrative, but there are no rules against it. ^_^

Dalron Cleric of Ilmater |

Gathering his new potions together he gets ready to move out.
He hands a potion to Eerie, Snow, And Sliver.
"I figure you guys and gals, could use these, or have the best chance in getting it to someone who has fallen."
-3 DT, -75 GP, + 3 healing potions

Snow in the Valley |

During the next couple of days Snow does what she can to help the town. She is not much of a lumberjack but she can hunt, so provisioning the town is where she finds her niche. Also during that time, she finds and if the feline will have her, begins to care for Rillix the Tressym.
Snow nods to Dalron with gratitude. ill be sure to use this before the end of Dragon Heist. That way i do not need to give it back. Lol.

The Nandars and the wood elves of Ardeep are at an uneasy truce, since the death of Lord Nandar. Generally, the people of Nightstone steer clear of the forest and the elves keep to themselves.
That being said, a few of you saw the warband that helped against the orcs... take that as you will. If brought up to Morak or other townsfolk, they seem a little surprised at the news.

So it sounds like you are heading out to treat with the elves.
You head out the next morning after making some minor preparations. If you want to do anything before you leave, let me know. The trip is only an hour-half hike into the hills, before you begin to approach the treeline. You are almost 200 yards away when a single arrow sails out to thud into the earth less than 6 feet from the lead character's (I assume, Sliver) feet.
Within a few seconds a small band of elves emerges from the trees and makes its way across the distance swiftly. Four of them stop about 100 feet away, bows at the ready, and the remaining pair cross the hills to get to within half that distance. They call out in elvish...

Sliver. |

Sliver was expecting the 'welcome' and stops at the arrow. He puts his arm out to keep the rest of his group calm. Sliver then performs a formal bow and greeting to the one who spoke.

![]() |

The speaking elf's face is hard, but there is a clear sense of kinship as he responds to Sliver...

Dalron Cleric of Ilmater |

Dalron leans over to Mayberry and whispers
"Do you have any idea what they are saying? Do you know if they are going to help us or kill us?"
Looking at the elves Dalron looks for any that might be injured.
Perception: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (12) + 6 = 18

Sliver. |

In elvish with translation: "I know much of the history and can understand your concerns. I am here, though in the hopes of ushering in a better future. Isn't that worth a conversation?"
Charisma: 1d20 ⇒ 17

![]() |

Assuming you are translating now...
The male elf frowns slightly, You are young, and have yet to be disappointed by them.
At this point, the female rolls her eyes, obviously biting her tongue. But the male holds up a hand, Let them make the first move. Let two of their leaders come to this spot. The Lady Nandar should have come herself, but I see her wisdom in sending you to speak.

Sliver. |

"The Lady passed during the attack by the giants. The new lord of Nightstone has not yet taken the seat. I have taken stewardship until he can do so. Will you accept me?"

![]() |

His eyebrow raises slightly, as if intrigued. The female whispers in his ear and he nods before turning back to face Sliver.
In light of that news, I find that acceptable. And the people of Nightstone will accept your decisions on their behalf?

![]() |

What was your original intent? I'd say ask for what you want for Nightstone and they will come back with terms.

Sliver. |

My idea was permission for limited logging and hunting.
I had a thought about a yearly festival where the leadership or representatives could meet and work out any differences. It could be a time to bring the two communities together.
A mutual defense treaty. Perhaps something that would allow for a combined patrol.
