*The pit's gate opens and a shape is prodded forwards with poles.*
Snarling, the long armed, furred figure turns and snarls at those herding it. Though slightly hunched this new comer's form is bestial and furred. Fangs are revealed as the short muzzle upon its face opens to hiss with rage at those who push it forwards with their pole-arms.
The forelimbs, elongated beyond the norm for arms, give the figure an almost simian appearance. Though there is a feral grace within the twisted frame. As the keepers withdraw and the gate swing shut, the figure turns to regard the company within the enclosure, short face snuffling as the nose upon it's muzzle seems to taste the air.
*Snuffle...sniff, sniff*

Two groups working together... -shudder- Thats going to be a bloody nightmare for pacing Frogfoot.
I thought of that. In order to preserve the pacing I want to achieve, it's going to be more of a situation where chapter 1 the groups will be independent, chapter 2 group A will be affected by group B's chapter 1, etc. etc.
As for directly working together, I have plans for that as well. Plans within plans...
ARE WE ALL ALMOST READY TO GET THE BLOODBATH STARTED?
Beleste |
Beleste would turn his head to regard Jethop as a smile overtakes his face.
"You can call me what you wish, but I will not allow them to simply take every freedom they can from me. They know I have little choice but to obey them because of these damned collars," as he spoke, Beleste would give the collar around his neck a soft tug. "However, instead of allowing them to further bend me to their will through simple fear, I choose to voice my opinion while you simply brood and hold your tongue."
Ready for the bloodbath? Do a get a rubber ducky version of the Duck of Doom to go with said bloodbath? If so, then yes I am ready for this bloodbath.
Zayva |
Zayva chewed some on her lip while she looked to be thinking about something. This was unusual, this whole situation. She was pulled out of her thoughts by some frantic miming, though not directed at her. She reached over and gave Siri a comforting pat on the shoulder when she realized her misunderstanding. "I'm not the best at Charades either."
Let's do this. I like the sound of the groups affecting each other over the course of the whole.

I would appreciate it if everyone's first post in the gameplay thread acknowledged my posting requirements - at least a post a day, except on weekends. You can also let me know if your "weekend days" will fall on different days of the week. Basically you should be posting at least once a day 5 days a week. Let me know if you know you won't be able to post for a day and it'll be fine, if that happens (lord knows it happens to me.)

The floor opens up beneath all of you, revealing smooth stone chutes that you all promptly fall down. The chutes are lined with antimagic generators and are too smooth to grab a handhold. You all fall approximately 20 feet to land in a much smaller room than the one you found yourselves in before, and those members of the other team are nowhere to be seen.
The room is 30x30 feet, made of black stone, with one exit - an obsidian door with no doorknob.
(post your responses to this happening in your respective gameplay threads)

Posting this in the recruitment thread because I think that still pings everybody involved. Correct me if I'm wrong.
Just came across this thread and was reminded that tieflings and aasimar, being of the native outsider type and not humanoids, are technically immune to the "Person" spells - including such classics as Hold Person and Enlarge Person. In fact, according to the thread, that specific type of armor is the ONLY way for a tiefling to get Enlarged.
I'm open to players' opinions on this rule. Technically, RAW (rules as written) is explicit - Enlarge Person and Reduce Person and Hold Person and Charm Person don't work on any of you. The drawbacks - and also the benefits - are obvious. On the other hand, I've houseruled lots so far, and it wouldn't be that much of a stretch to simply count tieflings as humanoids, just humanoids with devilish ancestry. What do you all think?
Beleste |
That's generous of your DM Frogfoot and if I would have thought about it I would have let you know. That's the tricky thing about some of the other races. They come with their various differences that you have to watch out for.
Either way, I've been having a blast and refreshing that page a ton throughout the day watching for updates.

It's honestly the first game where it has come up (most of my players tend to stick to core races) so I'm not surprised I goofed it up. I think it might be this spell in particular that's a problem. I thought it was a standard action cast time for a long time too (many years). I appreciate the flexibility vis-a-vis my spell book. I'll be happy to go with whatever you decide.

I think it might be this spell in particular that's a problem.
Partially, but as I said, this would affect more things than may be apparent at first. For example, as outsiders, you are vulnerable to being summoned and bound by spellcasters from other planes of existence. Also the other spells I mentioned earlier that also don't work - hold person, charm person...
