DESCRIPTION

--------------------

Description:

When one first meets Zayva, there are a few things they notice. Often, the first thing they see is that her skin is the color of periwinkle, with some spots seeming to be a stronger in blue tones and others purple. There is also the fact that her skin is scaled. Then, there are her horns. Black, shiney and large. One set goes up before curving back to point up again, like a dragons. The other set is spiraled and standing vertical. Her eyes glow a bright crimson red. This is all before one notices the set of small wings that sit on her back. Bat-like, the bones are a mix of dark purple and midnight blue colors before returning to the periwinkle color in the skin between them. They are obviously too small for flight, but they are still very visible. One might even overlook the fact that her hair is Navy-blue.

PERSONALITY

--------------------

Personality:

Zayva is quiet when her drow owners are around, preferring to go mostly unnoticed by them. When she is with others, she opens up, caring about them. Having been experimented on since she was still a young child, she has seen many people come and go. Witnessing many deaths over the years has always stuck with her, especially since she is able to see the state of one’s soul. She works to keep people alive, because as long as you are alive there is always the possible way out in the future. She does obey the orders given to her by her owners for the most part, but not always in the way intended. She does still get the job done and can be very stubborn at times. Zayva can also be a bit mothering at times, caring about those she heals. She has been known to smack a hand picking at bandages, and will try to convince someone to eat if they are refusing. She also has a hard time remember names of people and places. She sometimes chews on her lower lip as nervous habit.

HISTORY

--------------------

About:

Zayva was born to single mother in a small town of Gundrun, though she does not remember or think much about her home anymore. Her mother cared greatly for her, unable to hate the child she had been blessed with, even if that child wasn't normal. While they didn't have much, her mother provided for her the best she could, giving Zayva all the love she could. When Zayva was only physically the size of a three year old but mentally six, her mother became deathly sick. This was the first time Zayva had seen anyone this sick, and her ability to see the state of a soul manifested. She saw her mother was dying, and all she could do was watch. It changed her, for better or worse. It was not long after this point that she never saw her home again. She was taken as soon as the grieving period was over in the dead of night. Stolen, bought and sold, Zayva’s new life was very different from the one she had known with her mother. Her friends where gone and she no longer had a family. She eventually lost track of time amongst the experiments she underwent. She witnessed many others come and go from the labs, patients and drow alike, viewing the different states of their souls.

Though all of this, she changed. Her physical appearance morphed and grew, with her body aging in strange ways. At times her body would age years over the course of a few months, but others it would be years that she stayed the same age physically. Between her inconsistent physical maturing rate and all the experiments she was nearly unrecognizable from the child she had been. Her name, Zayva, was one of the few things she remembered from before, along with a handful of times with her mother, and the names of a few of the other tiefling kids from back home. The rest was gone between the trauma of her mother’s death and subsequent abduction, the pain, drugs, and time. This means she has no idea of her age, and has forgotten when her birthday even is to try to calculate her age, not that it matters to her. She saw other subjects that had arrived at the same time she had, change and, for most, even die. The observing of so many deaths had called to something within her, a power once dormant had awoken. She didn't know what it was, but for some reason she clung to the concept of life. It brought her warmth and comfort. She pulled on that power inside to heal others, to help preserve the lives that she saw being taken in front of her. To live, meant to have more chances to change things, to not give up. For some, it might have been cruel that she made them live longer, but she couldn't bare the thought of someone just giving up on life. That didn't mean she wouldn't kill if things came down to that. If the killing of another would keep others alive and safe, she was not above the act. She knew all life could not be saved, but she wished to try.

Her gift of healing has not come without its consequences, in times of great stress, such as combat, she loses her ability to understand anything but Infernal, the language of devils. She has learned to live with this over the years and manages for the most part. But it has also come with some perks. When the drow discovered her abilities and talents with healing, they placed her under Doctor Khan. She was to heal and tend to the other subjects at the end of each day. This is so that the subjects are ready for a fresh start the next day. Zayva doesn't mind healing the others, even if it means they will be subjected to more experiments, improvements and tortures the next day. Zayva enjoyed working this job, since it allowed her to give life back to the others there. She also got to meet many of the other subjects, keeping her from being in seclusion like some of them.

Before she was brought to work under Doctor Khan, she was not always the most compliant. She would follow the order, but would her own way to meet it. To her, as long as she meets their end goal of the task assigned, it doesn't matter how she gets there. Because of her way of completing these tasks, they would punish her by zapping her with electricity. She has developed a small resistance to electricity because of this, and still continues to go about her own way of following their orders when the mood strikes her. This does not occur as often as it used too because she currently enjoys her job of healing. She can be, and has in the past been, very stubborn when she sets her mind to something. This also lead to a few electric shock punishments.
