Muhoro was born in far off Minkai, near the Forest of Spirits. His mother was a normal commoner, with uncommon beauty who had the misfortune of being seduced by one of the many Kami of the forest. While most Kami are neutral to the world around them, a few are malevolent, and it was one of these evil spirits that took advantage of the beautiful girl.
Once born, and the true nature of his parentage was discovered, he and his mother were forced from the village. It was lucky for them that her beauty was so great that she was able to talk a travelling merchant into taking the two of them over the Crown of the World, and into the lands of Avistan.
While travelling through the far northern Realm of the Mammoth Lords, the secret of his heritage was discovered. Left unattended for only a few moments, he was spotted by a number of locals. These people, fearful as to what he might be, demanded the merchant to either cast out his mother or face the local jarl's wrath.
Travelling across the Tusk Mountains, the mother and child soon came to the lands of the Worldwound. They kept to the edge of the mountains, but life was harsh, and help nonexistent. It was in these wilds, while still just a young boy, that his mother passed away. Whether it was from hunger, the elements or just the loss of the will to live, his mother slowly slipped into a catatonic state and soon dies.
Left alone, the young tiefling felt the pull of his otherworldly father to travel closer to the blight called the Worldwound. He soon found himself in the small settlement of Gundrun, where he discovered others cursed like him. The small community of Tieflings took the boy in and cared for him. His fledgling skills with magic were encouraged, and he was just beginning to make feel like he belonged.
This all changed when he was taken from his room at his masters' home. Tied up and blindfolded, he was hustled into the back of a wagon with several others. For many long days he was kept with these others, bound and blinded. Food and water came sporadically, and soon time lost all meaning. Other than short stops, where they were allowed to stretch and relieve themselves, the captives were kept in the wagon. The sounds and smells were terrifying, as were their unseen captives. Several did not make it, and their bodies were sometimes left in the wagon until the smell made all sick. Finally the wagon ride came to an end, and the real torture began.
