1) There's going to be a time skip of a few months. What are you going to do for the next while without major foes to hunt in the vale?
Cook. Learn to turn beans into vegan burgers.
2) You can have any type of armor you want crafted for you now. Remember ABP bonuses.
Later. Can't really be bothered unless armor matches my blue scales...
3) You're going to gain two levels over the course of the time skip. Feel free to start working on them.
Will need some time on this.
4) You'll also get to choose two mutations to gain for the time period. The list of possibilities is:
Grow Larger (increases strength)
Grow Thicker Scales (increases Con and AC)
Grow Longer Legs (increases speed)
Grow Spare Head (a 'dumb' head that just bites things that you attack)
GM's Choice (I may come up with something bizarre...)
Let me know what your two votes are.
Something bizarre and grow thicker scales. Larger doesn't help me since I dumped str. Another head also doesn't help since I dumped strength. Longer legs... Well had I chosen different talents I could fly, so why bother about walking?

GM_of_the_Heads |

I will always always always vote for something bizarre.
(But is that going to put too much pressure on you, what with your burn out and all?)
I already have some ideas. ;)

1) There's going to be a time skip of a few months. What are you going to do for the next while without major foes to hunt in the vale?
Questing (i.e. nagging) for a black headband with eye holes. In between quests, Beachhead will practice his bird calling in order to lure birds in before he snatches them out of the air and devours them.
2) You can have any type of armor you want crafted for you now. Remember ABP bonuses.
I'm assuming no, but are any special materials available?

Grash "Warhead" Varazson |

1)
Grash will probably alternate between hunting around for new worthy opponents, and being slightly smug that there aren't any in the area. He will also tell lots of tales of questionable veracity, periodically heckle the other heads for their un-hydralike behavior, and maybe try to instill some proper angry fighting techniques in the lizardfolk (he doesn't bother with the non-scaly peoples).
2)
Hmmm... Grash may well actually get some armor here; I'll add it into his stat block. It will all have spikes, of course. What's the point of armor without spikes on it?
3)
Working on it. Still need to pick some spells, rage power, and feat. I am highly amused at the prospects of Grash learning things like Dimension Door (which would inevitably be targeted slightly above an opponent), Ancestral Gift (A hydra ancestor spirt would give him a weapon. Somehow.), Shout (SONIC ROAAAARRRR!), Greater Invisibility (Clearly it should be targeted on the body), and Virtuoso Performance (Have Raging Song AND Dirge of Doom active!), but I can't decide which two to learn.
4)
Alright fine, we can have at least one GM's Choice. Because the real purpose of this campaign is for silly things to happen.
Grash approves of just about all the other choices, but maybe a spare head to confer all his song boosts on would be the top one.

You know there's the impossible burger which sounds like an impossible dream to chase...but still worth chasing =)
Not all hydra heads are meat eating monsters!

No, there are not.

Beachhead |

Okay, thanks. Will probably just go with studded leather, then.
Greater Invisibility (Clearly it should be targeted on the body)
Grash, let me know if you pick that, please. I was planning on picking a ninja trick* that lets his vanish ability work like greater invisibility, but if that's something you'll cast on all of us, the trick would be wasted. And there's plenty of other cool things for Beachhead to pick.
* They couldn't come up with a more flavorful word for ninjas then "trick?"

Grash "Warhead" Varazson |

Even if he does learn it, note that he only has two fourth level spells per day. In fact, if you can get that trick of yours, Grash won't really have any reason to learn Greater Invisibility, and can pick something else.

Beachhead |

Okay, Beachhead is leveled. Sorry for taking so long. I'm on the job hunt. For a job. Because I need one.
Beachhead's sneak attack is now 5d6+1, and his Stealth is now a whopping 24.
I'm not sure what's going on with my attack bonus. I re-calculated from scratch, and now it's actually down from last level.
BAB = 7/2
Dex = +6
Weapon focus = +1
ABP = +2
That's 16/11, but before I leveled, I was at 17/12. Can anyone think of what I'm missing?
My new ninja trick is Invisible Blade.
My new feat is Flensing Strike, although I debated for a long time about going with Slashing Grace instead so that I could add my Dex bonus for damage. Debuff vs. damage. Thoughts?
Also, it's weird that my tense started out with "Beachhead's" and switched to "my."

Ziphora |

So sorry. For some reason the gameplay posts did not show as new so I didn’t check (probably because I saw the posts in Japan and didn’t post a reply). My bad, and I’ll catch up responding to it.

GM_of_the_Heads |

We will be getting one more head for this end section, which is the main thing I'm waiting on just now.

GM_of_the_Heads |

XD
Okay, everyone ready to skip forward a few months?

Ziphora |

Yeah Beachhead likes scaring my familiar. Anyway I was kinda busy recently, went for a run, went to a con, discovered a hole in my shoe, and went to buy new shoes.
Hi Mazzoss! Sorry for late hi.

Ziphora |

What I had for my vegetarian lunch:
Tofu puffs stuffed with beansprouts and shredded cucumber
Everything in "" is the mock version of the real stuff.
No kidding. I can go vegetarian.

Beachhead |

Gang, aside from Sir Tolgrith, who should we call to our council of war? The lizardfolk chieftains if they're not already at our lair. Mo, obviously. Anyone else?
Did you guys make any allies before Beachhead came aboard, or did you kill everyone?
If you killed everyone, kudos for that, by the way. *golf clap*

GM_of_the_Heads |

Bad picture of the Bloodsworn Vale
Fort Thorn is A. Your fortress nest is M. The lizardfolk live in the swamp on the east of Mist Lake. The army would likely come along the road from the east, which is the dotted line.

*cough*

GM_of_the_Heads |

Your body developing something of a mind of its own is the result of that.

GM_of_the_Heads |

Oh, it's not familiars it should terrify... >:D

Grash "Warhead" Varazson |

Wait... does this mean that it will be a valid recipient for Grash's raging song? Angry body sounds like it would be odd...
Grash probably wouldn't mind as long as it ended in trampling, though.

GM_of_the_Heads |

Sorry, it doesn't have ears. That doesn't mean it won't trample at inappropriate times, though. Maybe some appropriate ones, too.

Ziphora |

If you wanted to do the knowledge nature things, that's how snake charming works. Snakes don't really understand music, it's the vibrations they're feeling. Again I won't be insisting that that should be the case etc since RAW you don't get it.

Grash "Warhead" Varazson |

I find it somewhat amusing that we can have a war council mainly with ourselves... and apparently have a fairly decent amount of collective tactical acumen.

Ziphora |

Thank you, thank you, thank you!
*bumps head against grash*
I will have you know I watched Romance of the Three Kingdoms on television and read a few chapters of Sun Tzu's Art of War =P
Or at least, her player did.

Beachhead |

So, unless the invading army is days out, I can't think of anything else we can do to prepare.
To be fair, if the invading army is multiple days out, I still haven't thought of anything else we could do to prepare, but the possibility exists that I could.

GM_of_the_Heads |

You've got about a day, give or take. Basically next morning sometime you can expect them.
We'll be doing this battle semi-abstract--I don't want to do five billion rolls, so only the bits involving you directly will be done with full rules and everything. The combat around you I'll 'summarize' with just a roll or two every round.
Also enemies that aren't unique will be squads or whatever that thing is where they act like swarms kind of and I can't remember the name and it's annoying me...
