I will remove the invalid characters to keep things tidy. No problem.
Julessa, depending on where they go next, they could finish investigating and then meet with you heading back.

Lubella Heathertoes |

Our choice at this point is whether to try to catch up with Rexus or not. There's likely no point in going to Kelimber’s Dry Goods and Supplies later (and we don't know for sure that's where he went). By the sounds of it, he's probably OK for now.

Aldren Halfblood |

It just seems weird to me that he missed the meeting without even sending a note. IC, Aldren would want to continue hunting him down but could be persuaded it's fine and to meet back up with Julessa.
OOC, I hate splitting the party so meeting up with Julessa is completely fine with me.

Lubella Heathertoes |

Yeah, IC, Lubella would want to catch up with him too. If he's not at Kelimber's, she might break off the pursuit, unless we find out something more ominous.

Aldren Halfblood |

Unless.... we can grab one of these faceless students walking around and pay them to go to the bakery and ask Julessa to meet us at the store.

GM Aarvid |

FYI - Sunday my family and I will be taking the train on vacation to the east coast. I am not sure what type of internet or cell service we will have, so my posts could be a bit thin or inconsistent for the next week.
Feel free to continue posting any party plans or interactions, but if you do not get a response from me for a day or so, do not be alarmed.

GM Aarvid |

Ok, we will start getting into things like combat and the like. So I wanted to ask a few questions.
1) Overall how are things working for posting rate? Will people be able to keep to about once a day or every other day?
For my usual games, I will put people on the clock to "delay" if they do not post in 24hrs. Is that reasonable?
2) How are the map google slides working for people? Is it taking exceptionally long? Would it be better to break them into smaller decks?
3) Any suggestions, recommendations? Too fast? Too slow?
Obviously there was more dialog and investigation getting start. There will be a mix of more combat now that things with the Raven organization are settled.
Thanks for your feedback. I want this to be fun for all, so let me know if you have ideas for improvements.

Personally, I would split up the rebellion notes and the maps, so that when we are fighting we don't have to scroll through 6-7 pages of non-combat stuff. Current combat map should be the first slide.
Posting at least once a day when in combat is reasonable and doable for me (I will let you know when it's not, I have a week-long conference coming up soon).

Lubella Heathertoes |

1) I have no trouble with the posting rate. I'm in an Ironfang Invasion game, started 11.5 months ago, where we're currently at 2125 gameplay posts. Your method seems reasonable to me.
2)The google slides work fine for me. I agree that having the current combat map be the first slide would be ideal.
3)So far, so good. When we're in investigation mode, it's good to give us periodic time-of-day updates, which you've been doing. Posting the calendar date occasionally would be helpful to give us a sense of the current season.

Julessa Emberlain |

1) I can post once a day without a problem. A little trickier on weekends, but I should still hang in there.
2) Google slides works for me.
3) I may not be able to post as quickly as some in this game, and so it may seem like Julessa's a bit quiet, but I'll hang in there.

GM Aarvid |

Good stuff. Thanks for the feedback. I will split the slides up.
I will also try to post current in-game calendar date at the beginning of each day (morning etc).

Aldren Halfblood |

Once a day isn't a problem for me usually, though a tad more difficult on the weekends. Mostly I just worry about racing ahead of those who can't post as frequently.
on slides, I'd just say put whatever is most relevant at the top and gradually let the older stuff move to the bottom. If it gets hard to load, could do a different deck per chapter.

GM Aarvid |

Will need until tomorrow to fix combat map permissions. Working from phone on a moving train is not cooperating.

Lubella Heathertoes |

No worries; I can imagine the difficulty of troubleshooting from a phone.

Aldren Halfblood |

On positioning for the map, just some brainstorming here...
I'm thinking Talvek should stumble in and out of the fenced area in the center of the map.
Since Aldren is poor at stealth and there may be curfew patrols, I think having him physically out of sight is probably best, so maybe shoved in the alley to the north? Folks with good stealth could hide a bit closer, in some of the niches and alcoves facing the street? Others who don't have great stealth but aren't too encumbered might be able to climb on top of some roofs?
Just brainstorming ideas, not trying to tell anyone what to do. Hope that's okay!

Lubella Heathertoes |

Lubella might hide in the space between the central building and the one on the left. Her plan is to cast Expeditious Retreat at the first sign of trouble. From that location she'll have several options to move around the houses.
My concern about having people on the rooftops is that it splits the party to some extend. If they were attacked up there, the others might have trouble coming to their aid, and vice versa.

Aldren Halfblood |

Yeah, that's definitely the risk.
Hmm. Are any of these buildings abandoned?

Lubella Heathertoes |

I should also add that Lubella is planning to have Light cast on her sheathed scimitar (she will have to renew it every 20 min).
FWIW, she only has a sling for ranged combat right now; her carrying capacity is too low for a crossbow. She eventually needs a mithril chain shirt to sort out her encumbrance.

GM Aarvid |

ok - we arrived. Crazy snowstorm in Virginia, but we made it. I think I have the second map permissions fixed. Will post more tomorrow.

Aldren Halfblood |

Check.

Talvek Drassed |

I am travelling for a conference next week, so my posting rate will be slower as my schedule is completely packed, and sandwiched between 11-hour flights.

GM Aarvid |

We are getting back on the train tomorrow and my mother went into th ER last night so I was too busy to post. She is doing better fortunately and after tomorrow I should be back on a normal posting rate. I apologize for the delays this werk.

Aldren Halfblood |

Oh man. Sorry to hear your mom was in the ER. Family first. Hope she has a speedy recovery.

GM Aarvid |

Thanks all. Much appreciated.
She is doing better. I am working with my siblings to see if any of them can take care of her next week or if I need to fly down to stay with her. It should all work out fine.

Lubella Heathertoes |

I've taken the liberty of placing Talvek on the map, at the entrance to the fenced area (trying to make a best guess of where he would be, base on discussions so far).
I've also placed Arcos on the map, in hopefully a reasonable position. We're getting to the point where everyone needs to have a specified position.
Acros: please feel free to re-position yourself as you please.

Lubella Heathertoes |

Yeah, Inspiration doesn't help when you roll a 2 on your save. :(

Aldren Halfblood |

LOL. Not for nothing, but this is when I would love to channel negative energy. ;-)

GM Aarvid |

Definitely would have been handy here.
But generally, harder to exclude party/innocents in city environment.

Aldren Halfblood |

Nobody is innocent. <_<
:-P

Lubella Heathertoes |

Where were these rolls when Lubella was trying to convince the Fushi sisters to join us? :)

GM Aarvid |

LOL!
Even with the DR, that crit was enough to kill it.
It only took a month to get into combat. :-(
But now that the Ravens are established (and my trip completed),
we will be more frequent on progressing the main story.

GM Aarvid |

IMHO - These critters are a bit over powered for their CR 1/4 rating.
I would rather fight a single wolf than 4 of these things.

Lubella Heathertoes |

CR ratings are notoriously inaccurate — for example: common orcs with ferocity (not orc ferocity) are CR 1/3 and take 18 damage to kill.

Aldren Halfblood |

Yeah. Paralysis and sleep? The damage is minimal but it can add up... especially if the full party is been rendered helpless.

GM Aarvid |

Sorry, I forgot the exploding cloud when the first one died. Aldren and Lubella were spared the stench.

Aldren Halfblood |

I swaddled myself in a urine soaked blanket. A little pixie won’t bother me...
Though my crappy Fort Save might disagree.

Aldren Halfblood |

GM, I'm fiddling a little with my summary text in an effort to make it more convenient for you. Sometimes that backfires and I just make it more confusing. Let me know if it's the latter.
In short, I'm trying to break out my AC between w/ shield and w/o shield, then call out any situational modifiers in the blue conditions area. So, now the regular text has his AC both without a shield and with it, then in conditions I'm specifying "no Shield" but then a +2 bonus from Prot from Evil.
If I've just completely muddle s~@% up, let me know. [-;

Aldren Halfblood |

Lubella, depending on what happens, I may have to heal myself next round. Sorry. Trying to get that bugger off you. No one wants to see a gap toothed halfling. That’s just sad!

Lubella Heathertoes |

@GM Aarvid: It might be an idea for you to roll the PC's AoOs when the tooth fairies enter their space; it would certainly speed things up.

GM Aarvid |

Ok, good idea. I usually don't like rolling attacks or saves for folks, but it would speed things if nobody objects. Fortunately there are not many of these tiny encounters where app abound in the future.
