Step 1: Write at least 5 concept elements that you feel are important to your image of the character.
a) Julessa has seen much pain over the course of her life; this has left her with an unsentimental, almost brusque approach to doing good.
b) She is the proud owner of the Owl Bakery, a corner favorite in Old Kintargo which her family has owned for three generations.
c) Julessa lost her husband to an unscrupulous patrol who rounded him up with other innocents and hung him so as to have someone to hang for a crime Julessa never really understood; this arbitrary 'justice' poisoned her against the government of Thrune, which was then further cemented by the loss of her daughter when the girl was but fifteen to a band of visiting Chelaxian noblemen who cut her down in the street one night for sport.
d) Julessa came late in her life to the worship of Milani. Her faith was sparked by the appearance after a terribly long night of grief of Milani's holy symbol over her heart. Her faith is as firm and deeply rooted now as an old oak tree. Without realizing it, she had been searching for Milani all her life, and now her faith guides her, comforts her, and gives her purpose after her losses.
e) Her lifetime spent railing at the injustices she's seen have led to her researching and chronicling the many rebellions and rebellious groups of Kintargo; the Silver Ravens are her favorite.
Step 2: List at least 2 goals for the character. At least one of these goals should be one that the character has, while another should be one that you, as a player, want to see developed over the course of the game.
a) To spread the faith of Milani amongst the people of Kintargo, and by so doing fan the flames of revolt with which to topple the thrice-cursed government of Thrune.
b) To finally give vent to her grief, to weep, to allow herself to feel the loss of her loved ones. And in so doing, soften, and cease to be so rigid and brittle.
Step 3: List at least 2 secrets about your character. One is a secret the character knows, one is a secret that involves him but that he is not actually aware of yet. This will help me in creating plots that center around your character. I will also be creating a third secret which you as a player will not be aware of, so expect some surprises!
a) Julessa has a small shrine to Milani hidden in her bakery's basement, and hosts ceremonies there with a small handful of trusted faithful.
b) The death of Julessa's daughter has come to haunt the young Chelaxian nobleman who cut her down; he has nightmares about her, and wishes he could do something, anything, to redress that callous wrong he committed in his past.
Step 4: Describe at least 3 people that are tied to the character. Two of them are friendly to the character, one is hostile.
a) The young Chelaxian nobleman who cut down Julessa's daughter: she doesn't know that he is an ally, but he's recently discovered her and now seeks to help or protect her in some way from behind the scenes.
b) Avantus Poise, a childhood friend and member of the local guard. He has a crush on Julessa, but out of loyalty to her dead husband refuses to pursue it. Instead, he frequents her bakery and keeps an ear out for trouble.
c) Heloise Mirthen: the jealous wife of Janok, who worships with Julessa in her secret shrine. Heloise resents Janok's devotion, and blames Julessa for his piety.
Step 5: Describe at least 3 mannerisms, or quirks that your character has. They don't have to be elaborate, but they should provide some context and flavor.
a) Julessa often has flour dusted across her hands or over her apron; she takes such pride in her profession that she feels no need to hide it.
b) She often carries a pouch of baked goods with her which she dispenses to urchins or the poor.
c) She loves to host get-togethers at her bakery, finding that the only real cheer left to her in this world is the faces of friends eating and laughing by candlelight.
Step 6: List one fear your character have and one fear that you have (if you are not comfortable with this, skip it).
a) Julessa is terrified of being outed as a cleric of Milani, but only because she fears the repercussions it would have on her bakery and the small group of faithful who worship there.
a)
