Yhen pulls out her wand of cure light wounds just in case.

Kishara hears Yhen's pained cry and says to Tikrit, "Yhen is hurt, we need to get moving." She stabs at the half-orc with her Rapier once more and then leaps out from the smoke to cover Yhen.

Indeed... I am interested in tracking down his location but we'll need to hook up with the others before we try engaging.

Kishara watches in horror as the arrow streaks past her into the smoke, striking and felling Yhen. She stood torn for a moment, unsure of how best to turn the tide of this battle to their favor. Tikrit's battle cry followed by the thump of a body hitting the cobblestones gave her hope that the enemies beyond the smoke were out of play now. The force missile strikes her in the chest and she sneers at the mage peeking around the corner at her. "Was that an assault? Felt more like foreplay... Watch closely and I'll show you how it's done." And with a roguish wink she sprang forward, closing on the Gnomish Archer and spit him viciously with her Rapier.
Move to H,18 and attack that pesky Gnome!

Tikrit lowers his head so that the brim of his straw hat covers his eyes, and he says in a husky voice, "Attack us, will you? That's no way to conduct yourselves." He then turns to attend to the last threat, the mage. He advances through the smoke looking for him, and upon spying his target, Tikrit launches himself at him, his sandaled feet making little noise on the flagstones. His blade flashes as he strikes.

Kishara rebounds from the magic missile with bared teeth and wild eyes. She moves toward the wounded mage, speaking to him as she advances.
"Now that felt more like you meant it! But I still think you're sweet on me, so I'll give you one last chance. You're all alone now, pet. And you'll join your friends in staining the cobblestones if you don't give yourself up NOW!" She raises her rapier, prepared to attack if he makes the slightest hostile move.

Kishara utters the words, even if only to console herself about what is to come - as the sentence falls from her lips she herself is unconvinced of the words given the surety of this mans conviction. Easily reading the situation for what it is, she moves in to bring the scene to its final bloody conclusion.
For a moment there is only silence on the streets. Kishara and Tikrit examine their messy wounds, and Yhen lies unconscious but alive, her blood pooled around her, making its way in small rivers around the cobblestones of the market plaza.
Recovering the situation, you locate:

Kishara barks an abrupt, bitter laugh as she surveys their condition. She turns her violet eyes on her Tengu friend, looking rather awestruck as she pulls him into a hug and kisses him smack on his beak. "I'm beginning to think you are a Dragon in disguise. A Luck Dragon, yes? Lucky for us you were here or we would not have survived, I'm sure." Her eyes go wide as she remembers the rest of "us" was still lying unconscious back there in the street and she grabs up a potion of healing and sprints off to help Yhen, shooing the children away from her.
Can Kish help her drink a potion? UMD is a little on the weak side.
Whee! We didn't die!

After realising it is a losing proposition to bother trying to defend them, the bodies are eventually snuck away by the hawkers to whatever dire fate awaits an untended corpse in such a dark city.
After some time, the party is reunited, some members more worse for wear than others.
Yes, you can pour a potion or two into Yhen

Grimaldus is visibly shaken by his friends wounds, although he tries to put on a brave face and congratulates them on their bravery and skills in the battle.
He may be heard angrily talking to himself: I should have been here...never should have let them go on their own...look at poor Yhen...my fault...

![]() |

Anyone got a funnel? Beer bong, perhaps? XD
Kishara kneels down and pulls Yhen's limp form against her body and supports her head as she feeds her the potions. Grim and the others come upon them looking a bloody mess, but still alive, and in good spirits, all considered. "They know we are closing in on them. The merchants told us this symbol on the potion bottles matches an abandoned prison in the Bottoms that folk call the 'Temple'. I think we need to head there next. What did you all find out?"
When she hears Grim's mutterings, she reaches up and pats his face none too gently, giving him a serious look. "Hey, no talk like that! I made the decision to split off the group and come down here chasing this lead. I should have expected the ambush..." She shook her head and sighed.
"Just be glad we're closer to our objective and still alive to pursue it, yes? Don't be so grim, eh?" She winks and stretches up on tip-toe to tweak his nose and then winced from the tender spot where the magic missile hit her. "You may find me more amenable to standing behind you in the future though... ouch." She says, leaning on him slightly for support.

Tikrit is a little stunned by Kishara's kiss, but he doesn't have time to consider it as the Rogue dashes off to tend to Yhen. Tikrit shakes his head and grabs the magical items from the bodies, paying particular attention to the Scrolls and the 'Key' before he rejoins Kishara over Yhen's body to nervously watch the work of the potions on their friend.
"Kishara thinks I am a Luck Dragon now, and maybe luck had something to do with it all, as we are lucky to be alive. I do say that her smokestick was as instrumental in saving us as my magic." Tikrit says when everyone is reunited.

![]() |

"Thank goodness we're still alive. That was a little bit too much but you guys managed to defeat them." Yhen turns to Tikrit, "It's always good to have a luck dragon."
-----------------
"To think that they planned to ambush us in a well crowded-area, that's a little daring."

![]() |

"I agree with Kish on going to the temple next, expect some heavy ambush like there would be no tomorrow is our plan of entry."
Yhen turns to Kish and Tik,
"Where are my manners, thank you for saving me. I got a little carried away there and just wants to curse their entire group to oblivion."

![]() |

Kishara raises her hand sheepishly. "I think Tik and I could use the aid, Kaneko, thank you." After everything is taken care of, she turns to the others and says "Well, are we ready to go?"
Can Kish have the invisibility potion for our next jaunt?

Giving you guys time to sort out your various plans and strategies - time to determine when you attack and any preparations.
The Temple is exactly as described — a trash heap. It may once have been a model of beautiful prison architecture, but its facade is faded and cracked, piles of windblown trash hug its walls in drifts, and what may have once been manicured landscaping has since devolved into a tangled, swampy mess. A single path of cracked, wet bricks links the street to the entrance of the Temple, which appears to be a brand new, iron-braced wooden door. Above the door is a decayed carving of a human man on his knees, his arms raised toward a rising sun.

![]() |

"Only the one way in and out, unless we climb up or dig under. The door is likely to be heavily guarded, making a frontal assault costly. Finding a secret underground passage would be ideal, but that's the problem with secret passages...they're secret! And digging is too time-consuming. So it seems our best course is to climb and come down from the top. Other thoughts?"
Grimaldus would also like to scope out the surrounding area if he wouldn't raise suspicions or be too obvious. You never know when you might spot that secret passage =)

Kishara nods, "These shadow-lodgers have shown us repeatedly how much they love an ambush. Let's be the ones doing the surprising this time." She slips into the shadows, observing the decaying prison carefully, looking for traps and alternate ways in.

Collecting some scrolls wouldn't take terribly long, perhaps an hour to source and purchase. So if you wish to get them that won't be an issue
Kishara reconnoiters the prison, keeping a low profile.
After sweeping the outside carefully, she is convinced the place is well locked, but no traps are evident. The key from the ambush party would almost certainly fit the locks on the front door.

![]() |

Climb up in an out of the way place where we won't be seen. Come from the top down =)
"OK, Tikrit. Let's use your gear and get to the roof of this building. I like the element of surprise for this assault."

On the back wall, just right of center, in the corner where it comes out 5' to continue going right. No windows that I can see, flat wall, the corner will help climbing and hiding.

![]() |

With the aid of a knotted rope and a good corner, Grim shimmies up onto the roof which turns out to be a continuation of the strong and utilitarian construction of the prison.
He can see an exercise yard, with a gallows, but at this stage is keeping a low profile and hasn't explored it thoroughly.
Grim is up so far. No alarm has sounded.

![]() |

Once Kishara climbs up, he will ask her to scan the rooftops of the corner tower and other buildings and look for trapdoors or holes so they can enter from the roof. As he sits against the wall, hunkered down so he won't be seen from the ground, Grim starts to reconsider not carrying a ranged weapon of some sort. Perhaps when they are done here he will pick up some javelins...

![]() |

Kishara scrambles up behind Grim and stealthily investigates the situation, holding onto her invisibility potion for now.

Right?? Too bad it wasn't a combat roll, I previewed a few more and the next two rolls were a 19 and 15. I remember when that would mean something like x8 critical hit, but I don't think that happens in Pathfinder.

![]() |

Sadly not :p Single crit only :P
Kishara scoots forward to the edge of the roof, she is acutely aware that sounds will probably travel through the roof and that heavy armour is possibly going to be heard, but that her delicate footfalls and clever use of the supporting structures probably wont be. She spies into the courtyard below and notes the three doors, a pair of double doors into the main building, and a small door into the corner building - the one surrounded by some kind of viewing platform adjacent the gallows.
She is about to give the all clear until she spies a large shape move slightly under the gallows block, but it isn't clear what it is, only that it is big and hidden away back there under the cover of the wooden frame. She pauses a few breaths, no further movement is detected from it, but she knows she definitely saw something.

![]() |

So does that means the only way in is still the front door, using the key? Was she not able to see in to more of the areas than the spot with the gallows?
