Kishara creeps back to the others to report, quietly. "I think we should try the courtyard, but there's something moving down below the gallows. I could not see what though it was big. I could go down first and try to see what it is."

![]() |

"Can we get into the corner tower via the door on the raised viewing platform and avoid the creature under the gallows? Or is that door at ground level? I can go down there and draw it out while you snipe it from here..." Grim offers. And the sad part is, he means it and is actually OK with being the armored crocodile bait...

Kishara pats Grimaldus on the arm, "I think Tik is right, I'll pop down there and peek around with the help of my little friend here." She holds up her invisibility potion and pops the seal. "Just be ready to come running if you hear me yell. I'll blow my signal whistle if it's all clear, so try and come quietly if you hear that." And with a wink, she imbibes the potion and disappears from view. She then slips quietly down the wall, dropping and tumbling as silently as she can and quickly takes a scan of the courtyard, approaching the gallows quietly until she can see what is there.

Kishara edges towards the form as the party waits quietly on the roof.
As she approaches, certain she was as silent as the grave, the shape stirs – Kishara is now certain the game is up and her presence has been noted. The glint of light on chitin gives the creature away as a massive scorpion.

Kishara's invisible mouth gaped. 'Scorpions... Why'd it have to be scorpions?' Flummoxed by a brilliant plan gone horribly wrong and face to face with a nightmarish monster, she cried out to her companions as she made a pathetic stab at the creature. "I'm made! Heaaalp!"
Attack w/ Rapier: 1d20 ⇒ 1
This far too accurate. I'm terrified of scorpions. The real me would require a flippin' Horror Check, lmao!

![]() |

An initiative roll of 1...srsly? What, was I napping in my nice, warm armor on the roof? Sheesh! The dice gods are surely laughing...give Kish two 20's for perception and stealth, then throw out a 1 to save her life from the big critter...ah, the injustice!! =)

Kishara cries out in pain as the thing crushes down on her, feeling her ribs cracking under the pressure. She struggles and wiggles against it's claw, utilizing her own slippery blood to slip free of the monster's clutches and stabs with her rapier.

![]() |

Sorry Kish, getting free is a standard action :( So its attempt to slip free or you may stab at it as you are using a one handed weapon and within range but at -2 for being grappled and with a -4 Dex, giving you a -4 altogether on your to hit roll; which would you like?
Grimaldus ditches the sword to fight his was free of the hold, and only just manages to slip its grip. Move action remains

![]() |

Ok, I thought it used the move action, not the standard. In that case, can she move? Withdraw or convert the attack to an Acrobatics roll to make it out of it's threat range and drink a potion? If so, move to K5 and her next round will be to retrieve and drink a potion of CLW. Maybe Kaneko could hit her with a channel too? =)

![]() |

Assuming you decided on slipping free you would still have a move action. Withdraw is a full round action, but acrobatics away as a move action to avoid an AOO would also be valid. Next round you could notionally draw and consume a potion in safety. Kaneko could channel, but you always risk the chance of healing the enemy too :p

![]() |

Ok, was hoping she could selectively channel. Do I need to roll the Acrobatics? I thought I should apply the 11 I rolled for the attack, which would be 11+11 for a total of 22.
Kishara tumbles backward from the Scorpion and moves back behind the gallows near the wall, seeking safety from the beast so she could use the healing potion she needed.
Move to K5 and next round she'll get and drink the potion.

Cast Grease beneath the Scorpion. DC 13 Reflex or fall prone. Squares are difficult terrain. If a creature moves in the grease, they have to make a DC 10 Acrobatics check to move. If they fail by 5 or more they have to make a Reflex save or fall.

With the death of the giant scorpion, Grim quickly retrieves his greatsword and scans the perimeter of the courtyard, readying himself for a fresh wave of enemies should they appear...

Kishara finishes downing her potion as the huge scorpion goes down. (recovering 6 hp) She glances down at her bruised and bloodied self and scowls at a rip in her linen shirt. She still eyes the thing warily, as if expecting it to rise up again any moment. "That thing found me easily, even with the potion. What kind of maniacs would use that as their guard-dog?" She shudders at the thought, the movement causing her to wince in pain. "Yeah, I think I could use a bit more healing too." She leans against the wall near Kaneko and tries to disappear into the shadow there.
Stealth: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (12) + 9 = 21
Tik isn't the one who needs it, it's Mandrak, Grim and myself that are injured. Kish used one of the two we had left so we have one party CLW potion left and maybe now Kaneko can channel?

![]() |

Grim looks down and realizes he, too, was injured by the creature. He reaches into his pouch and removes two vials, unstopping one and drinking it with a wince. Potion of CLW: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 1 = 7 After a few moments of gritting his teeth as the wound seals itself, he tests it by going through a weapons form. About halfway through he sucks in a sharp gasp, but merely clenches his teeth and continues the form. "Good enough." he says and puts the other vial back for when he really needs it.

![]() |

GM, when you say we find loot, do we have to say that were going to take it or its automatically with us? We found 4 potions of CLW, I used 2 and Tik can use another.
I assume the party hauls it with them, however unless you 'allocate it' then its not really available for use during combats.
