The old woman shreiks in anger as she.gets hit again by the freezing cold...but can't afford to look away from the two swordsmen pressing her hard.

Antonio Nedraid |

Antonio flips his cape in the womans face. [improved feint; my bluff vs her sense motive to attack her Flat Footed AC]
Bluff: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (18) + 10 = 28
Then he tries to punch her with his swept hilt for nonlethal damage.
punch: 1d20 + 3 - 4 ⇒ (6) + 3 - 4 = 5 for a possible 1d4 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4 nonlethal bludgeoning damage.

...ogres...be trouble...do you think is going on? Manton's voice.
I've followed this chief...years...not like mosy ogres...cautious, almost wise. You don't understand how dangerous... ...the whole clan. The woman's voice.
Whole clan? ...answer the question... ...they want? Manton again.
...will need food...and you know what ogres eat... ..
hard to say. We need to be ready...anything! The woman's voice again.
Hey, dwarf, what are you doing? One of the local farmers, coming your way...frowning...

The old lady is no longer wearing the cape she had on (it's wedged into rocks on the other mound to draw attention) but she's still wearing her apron...in which are 5 more darts (one half coated with something sticky) and three more...unusual knives. The one in her chest looks very high quality. There are six bottles here as well, three empty...and a small metal flask...also empty.
On her side is a coinpurse.

Antonio Nedraid |

Fort save: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2
"What? No! Don't!"
Antonio drops his sword and dives to grapple her. He wrests the blades from her; then tries to put his hands on the wound to prevent her from bleeding out. (To no avail?)
"No! Don't you die on us you pile of crap! You're going to tell us everything you hear me? Everything! YOU'RE GOING TO TELL US WHAT'S GOING ON!" He shouts furiously.

Reiko Arashi |

Dammit! Do we have any healing left? I didn't think I'd need to prepare my only healing spell, and she'll bleed out before I could cast it!
Reiko searches her and her belongings as best he can to see if she had any healing potions or other similar items while he speaks.

Manton looks hard at the crowd now staring at him...So...what's all this ruckus about?
...the silence lingers for a moment...then...
Tania? My god...you don't age.
The new speaker is a tall man, but inches below Manton...dark, with a thick moustasche and a collection of worry lines on his face.
Sherrif. The young woman speaks acknowledgement...nothing more?
What's this about OGRES? We gotta right to know! The farmer speaks, and the crowd finds their voices again, echoing his concern.

The young woman looks around through the crowd, then rolls her eyes.
Yeah. A clan of ogres came down the mountain...and are ambushing wagons on the road. Yeah...THAT clan.

Sheriff Perton |

The sherrif is obviously anxious...nobody has heard this much from him...all at once...in quite a while. He ushers Manton and Tania into the back room...and looks at everyone else expectantly.

After gathering the rest of the easy loot...the main part of whitch is a book found in the second upstairs bedroom, filled with all sorts of strange scribblings...which after a while, Aya identifies as a formulary...it's dinnertime. Everybody is hungry, to some degree...
There is food in the kitchen and cellar, if anyone wants to cook...but you can't help but remember the platters Manton served up at lunchtime...when most of you didn't have too much of an appetite. Of course...you did bring some...

![]() |

If needed, I'll make a list of the reasonably easily marketable items...there's a farmhouse full of little stuff...the big items are the formulary, the alchemy lab, the alchemical goods...and that greataxe Doran was carrying...though Lunk wore a breastplate worth a bit, that would be next in line. Of course, there are the sacks of coinage...when you finally count it, including what you find in the bedrooms, there's 337 gold and 518 silver.

Aya Yalandlara |

Gather up the coin and take the Formulary. Did we find any horses, oxen or other beasts of burden? Did we find a wagon or a cart? If yes to both, load our unconscious folks, both enemy and party members, in the cart/wagon and head for town with them. If no cart/wagon but pack animal, tie the unconscious folks, both enemy and party members, on and head for town. If neither, carry unconscious folks, both enemy and party members, to town.
