The ruined monastery is exactly one of those places parents warn their children about. I wonder why...
Female Elf Wizard
I see a stone that isn't well mortared in place...it seems loose. Its actually inside the passage, on the wall where it turns.

Antonio cautiously approached the stone and started feeling how loose it is.
It's not so much loose as it is socketed...and it depresses with a little force...
...and the grinding noise starts up again, revealing yet another secret passage...this one continues straight out from the corner, making the secret passage a T intersection.
It goes beyond your light...stretching into deep darkness...
Male Human Brawler
Cauis kicks at the crispy corpse. "I think it's done. Shall we join the others?"

The tunnel continues to stretch into the darkness...50'...100'...200'.,.the air smells different...the passage is different...no longer even stone blocks...often, roots dangle above...

"I have been blessed with something that may help."Jun moves up front and blasts the swarm with fire as it approaches
Fire Damage: 1d4 ⇒ 3 = 4 damage to swarm.
Female Elf Wizard
Aya unleashes a force Missile at the swarm.
Force Damage: 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3
First, a gout of flames bursts from Jun's outstretched hands.
Then, your ears are assailed by horrific screeching...
...and then, nostrils are assaulted with the odor of burning rat fur.
Lastly, the rats boil over, scurrying over the bodies of those fallen...scrambling up walls...to drop on Jun and Antonio...crawling up legs...
...and biting.
Jun: 1d6 ⇒ 1
Antonio: 1d6 ⇒ 4
Fort saves from both, please.
The force missile blasts a single rat into oblivion...but sadly, doesn't phase the swarm.

Jun launches another gout, and though the smell is as strong, it seems that there are still almost as many rats.
Seeing that if nobody does anything more, her new friends could quickly be eaten by rats, Tisa steps up with her mace, and slams it into the rats.
attack: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (10) + 1 = 11

Antonio's attack does, indeed, seem to have some effectiveness ..as several rats die, making a small patch of the floor slick with their blood.
Seeing Antonio covered in blood, Tisa tries again...
attack: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (18) + 1 = 19
