Sakuro said something extremely impolite, and not at all lady-like, as she watched whatever that had been. Pausing for just a moment to rub her eyes, she began focusing her thoughts. All right... if I had to guess, that's a sort of general warning vision, suggesting something extremely negative happening in the near future, possible because of that thing. Alternatively, it could be a different source, and probably a larger group but I can't rule out a small yet powerful team. If that's the case... her thoughts continued to race, identifying possibilities, discarding them, and searching for the ideal course of action. This was the part of her most people didn't really know - they usually saw an almost irrepressibly cheerful arcane addict, without recognizing the sharpness of her intellect. Okay... priority one is getting access to as much support as possible, taking into account the general lack of belief until and unless something does happen...

Varuk also finishes his share of the food brought in for them. As the others head in for the night he says, "Rest well, all. I will return in the morning. See you all then."

He heads out of the room and then the building. Walking to the edge of town, he looks for a good and safe spot to put down his beadroll and make a small, fireless camp.

Liberty's Edge

Tania is by the river, almost due north of the inn...

Liberty's Edge

Ok...everybody gets sleep...but...when they wake, early in the morning, there are excited, worried voices...

Varuk, being from the highlands past the edge of the valley, is used to the morning fog. But this is different. He feels something different here that puts him on edge. He repacks his bedroll and heads back into town to meet up with the others.

Sakuro stretched as she woke up, then wandered outside to take a look at the fog... which was there just like the previous morning, it seemed.

I wasn't actually here the previous morning. XD Is there anything Sakuro should know about this fog?

Liberty's Edge

The fog is heavy...oppressive...someone ten feet away is so indistinct as to be unrecognizable...

...and then, the screams start.

Sakuro promptly darted back inside, slamming the door behind her and locking it if there is one, propping something behind it if not. Another unladylike phrase came out of her mouth a moment later as she focused on the plans she had previously considered. "Fred, we're going to find those people from yesterday. It will be much safer to be with a group of well-armed warriors, don't you think?"

Tania is in a rush...she brings bows and arrows to those that have asked for them...What's going on? Aya? I have a bow and arrows...is this like yesterday's fog?

She's heard long before she's seen...she's accompanied by a wolf.

Liberty's Edge

Ok...apologies, but I should have mentioned, there's no actual stable...the horses can be tethered out front...there is a trough. Also, there's a map back in discussion that was used for the previous day's encounter...I can repost it...come on to the map where you think is appropriate.

Female Elf Wizard

Aya moves to Tania. This fog looks very much like the fog we had yesterday morning. There were insubstantial creatures in it yesterday. From the screams. I suspect they are in this fog also. Thanks for the bow and arrows, Tania. I will pay you for them after we deal with this.
Aya then starts toward the fog with arrow notched.

When the screams start, Reiko gets a sinking feeling in his stomach. He stands up from preparing his spells, and takes a quick look out his window, confirming his suspicions. He rushes downstairs to the common room where he sees Sakuro at the door.
Dont lock it! Others will come in here for safety!

He charges his katana with energy, making the blade glow a sinister red, and rushes out into the fog.

Starting awake at the sound, Antonio rolls out of his hammock and snatches up his sword and crossbow. He hurries downstairs and out onto the porch of the Giant's Mug as others start heading out to the sound of screams.

This is going to be one of those days, isn't it? Sakuro thought, sighing heavily as she moved after the warriors. They looked more like they were going towards one place than away from another, which was an important distinction - and, frankly, the safest place around was probably close to their side. Now she just had to hope what magic she still had would be enough...

Well, this was a terrible day to have not memorized Ray of Frost... Sakuro thought unhappily, making a mental note to try and keep spells like that on-hand in the future. Switching her choice, however, she elected for a different option instead - sending out a burst of multicolored light to try and strike as many of the figures as possible and take them out of commission for a little while. Just to hopefully be sure it was right, she added a little nudge from her reservoir of energy, still not quite recovered from its previous use.
