Initiative = 6

Sorry my mistake, wrote initiative instead of perception, was on a phone call. Numbers are the same, but i´ll roll perception again and take that initiative, or the other way around if the GM prefers that.

Perception: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (20) + 2 = 22

And no idea why that post was so messed up just now.

Nobody managed to see the sneaky sneaky snake, so it gets a surprise round before you all carve it into tiny bits.

on Ivar (he seemed to be on point)
to hit: 1d20 ⇒ 17 damage: 1d4 - 1 ⇒ (4) - 1 = 3 DC 13 fort save or be poisoned.

OK, Jan actually goes first (bah) in the surprise round.

Janzadar moves to close to the snake.
"Ivar, watch out!"
He lets a bolt of lightning against it.
Lightning Arc Attack Roll (Ranged Touch): 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (18) + 1 = 19
Damage Roll: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 1 = 7 (Electricity)

M Halfling Rogue 2

"AHHHHHHH! SNAAAAAAAKE!"

so did the snake make the attack on Ivar?

Ivar looks around as Janadar yells to watch out. 'Watch out for what? did the colonel yell snakes?'

Yes, the snake still attacked. It was hit by Jan, but did not die.

fort: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (5) + 4 = 9

feeling the snake attack rather than seeing it, "Ow the blasted thing bit me" Ivar steps away from it, as it lands on the ground and chops at it with his axe.

attack: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (12) + 5 = 17 for damage: 1d12 + 6 ⇒ (3) + 6 = 9

Between that chop and Jan's zap, the snake dies.

You take 1d2 ⇒ 2 con damage. Need another fort save.

Malok knocks and arrow but does not fire as the snake dies..

Malok moves to help Ivar by treating posion..

Heal: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (4) + 7 = 11 prob doesnt beat the DC.. If for some reason it does he gets a +4 to his save..

It does not.

M Halfling Rogue 2

"Blonde warrior human! You look like hell!"

I assume the -2 con is retroactive

fort: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (15) + 4 = 19

Ivar, as he removes the axe from the snake, looks at the swelling bite and then the colonel. Bending over to pick up the snake. "Yeah, I feel like hell also. the good news is snake is good eating." as he stores the snake in his pack.

"Shall we take a look around?" Ivar finds a clear spot and looks around.

Janzadar checks Ivar, to see if he can help.
Heal Check: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (17) + 8 = 25

You need another fort save to get over the poison.

fort: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (14) + 4 = 18 so down 2 con, get one back a day right.

Yes, stats come back 1/day, and you made the save so poison is over.

cn we see anything interesting from the hilltop?

You notice some sort of shelter built at F.

Ivar points down toward the south east near the beach, "Hey look, some sort of shelter, shall we head that way?" shouldering his axe, his shortsword in his other hand to chop down vegetation, Ivar starts to head that way, keeping his eyes peeled for anything unusual or tracks.

perception: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (20) + 5 = 25
survival: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (10) + 5 = 15

You hack your way through the brush down to the shelter you spied.

The remnants of a quickly rigged shelter and evidence of a small camp re sit well above the high-tide line on this narrow, sandy beach.

'Wonder if anyone is still here.' Nearing the edge of the forest Ivar stops and quickly kneels down, lifting a closed fist the universal signal for stop ;) He watches the shelter for a moment looking for any signs of life.

perception: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (2) + 5 = 7

Not seeing anything, Ivar stands up and tells the team. "I don't see anything, come on lets go." He then approaches the shelter to look around.

I´m a bit sad about that snake. She was certainly a nasty surprise, but perhaps i could have tamed her like that lizard. How are you feeling Ivar?

Mh interesting. So we are not alone here after all...Let´s see if there are any traces or tracks and if the fireplace is still warm.

Survival: 1d20 ⇒ 19

Ivar shrugs his shoulder, showing her the bleeding swollen bite. "It doesn't feel like the poison has taken hold, so I'm not as bad as I could be." Smiling, he nods back to the dead snake in his pack. "But not a total loss, Snake is good eating."

Nodding in agreement, "I'm not surprised that we found some kind of shelter, we did find zombies a little further up the beach." 'Wish I had thought about checking the fire pit.' Pointing to the shelter, smiling at Lalali;"But seeing if this has been lived in lately is a good idea, I like that firepit idea."

Ivar continues approaching the shelter.

The site appears to have been abandoned for a few days. The fire pit is at ambient temperature, and seems to have been rained on since the last fire.

You do find footprints leading south from the area.

Learning that there are tracks, Ivar recommends, "Shall we follow the tracks?" headed south, Ivar tries to keep an eye on the tracks.

Forgot a couple of details from your search.

A casual examination of this area reveals that it’s recently been used as a campsite. AYou find some discarded refuse, including both Captain Kovack’s tricorn hat and a few brightly colored scarves identifiable as once having belonged to the scholar Ieana.

(this was the captain of your vessel as well as one of the passengers).

The path heads south towards the center of the island. The trail appears to be a couple of days old.

Heading that way (towards E on the map), you run into a large grove of thorny vines grow on these river banks, presenting a seven-foot-tall wall of green leaves and intimidating six-inch red thorns.

Janzadar approaches carefully, and examines the grove, trying to identify if it is natural, and how to pass it.
Knowledge (Nature): 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5 (+1 if Jungle)
So no clue. Is it magical?

You think it might be a plant. No it is not magical.

M Halfling Rogue 2

"Even the plants here look threatening."

Malok recognizes this particular plant (and confirms that it is in fact a plant) as one where the berries have special properties. They can both cure disease and addictions. There appears to be plenty of the berries present in the center of the patch.

"Well if we suffer the thorns the berries can be quite useful. They are know to have medicinal properties.. We should probably try to harvest some.."

Perhaps there is some other way as to suffer the thorns...this might take a while, but it´s save.

Is it possible to harvest the berries with mage hand?

That would work I imagine, might take a little while though, but you're not the on clock.

Lalali begins to direct her hand as if she were plucking the berries, then motioning them to her, while an invisible hand gathers the actual berries and they then float to her. It´s a slow process though.

may as well eat, I wonder if I can save the snake hide.' while Lalali is using her magic to pick berries, Ivar starts to skin the snake, after he skins and guts the snake, Ivar builds a fire and starts cooking it. Once it get's a good medium rare Ivar cuts himself off a hunk and asks the party, 'Any of you want to get in on this snake?"

Once Lalali is done mystically picking berries and the party has eaten their fill, Ivar kicks sand on the fire to put it out. Then packing the rest of the snake in his pack, he hefts his axe and starts to follow the tracks again. Whacking down vegetation as he goes he keeps a keen eye out for the tracks and anything else.

survival: skin: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (7) + 5 = 12
survival: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (18) + 5 = 23
perception: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (17) + 5 = 22

Lalali takes quite a while to gather the berries as it involves sending the hand into the patch, picking a single berry and bringing it back. It's rather tedious, so Ivar starts up a fire and roasts the snake on a spit. It comes up rather tasty, though he doesn't do a great job of skinning it, cutting it in too many places.

By the time you have all the berries you want, it is starting to get to late afternoon.

So can we ignore the second paragraph from my earlier post and just set up camp?
