'It's getting darker faster than I expected.' After cooking the snake, Ivar throws another log on the fire and, having a gift for the obvious, asks: "It's getting dark, we may as well set up camp here." looking at the group he adds, "At the beach we had the colonel on the first watch, myself and Malok on the second watch and Lalali-Re with Janzadar on the third watch. Do we want to stay like that or should one of us shift and help the colonel?" turning to the Halfling, shrugging his shoulders and smiling "No offence meant Sir." Looking at Malok he adds, "Malok I don't mind being on watch alone, if you want to help him."

Ivar nods to Malok, "Have a safe shift, would you wake me when it's time," Smiling, "You may want to kick my foot or something, just stay back a little I wake up jumpy." After giving the polite warning to Malok, Ivar removes his pack, checking his equipment to make sure it is clean and in good repair, he then goes to sleep.

oops, thought I had posted
Ivar, eating the cold leftovers from the snake, put out the fire at the sight and gathered up his gear. shouldering his pack, and carrying his axe. "Shall we continue following the trail?" Ivar starts out following the trail they found leading away from the camp.

Everyone is strolling down the path as Ivar walks into a spider web hidden among a bunch of overgrowth on the trail.
Malok yells "Watch Out!" just as he steps into it. The Colonel also noticed just in time.
OK, surprise round, Spider, Malok and Colonel all can act.

Perfect! I was worried for a second you had forgotten all about Janzadar.
Janzadar closes within 30' from the spider and let a Lightning go from his hand towards the spider.

Hey there is a spider web here. seeing a flash of black out of the corner of his eye, Ivar turns just quick enough to see a couple of arrows and a bolt of lighting hit the spider that had apparently spun the web that he was cleaning off his face and arms. "Nice work, to bad spiders aren't as tasty as snakes!" Ivar kicks the spider of the path as he fights his way through the cobwebs, following the trail from their overnight camp grounds.

2nd level cool, I will update Ivar this evening.

You get back on the trail and head W-SW.
Ivar on point doesn't have his eyes peeled adequately and steps into a trap, or perhaps he was too riveted to the trail.
Ivar's foot gets caught in a loop of vine and he is whipped up into the air against a set of spikes set into a tree.
to hit: 1d20 ⇒ 7 damage: 2d6 + 2 ⇒ (5, 3) + 2 = 10 hit
At this point your barbarian is doing a pinata impression while impaled on some spikes.
Malok, the East Wind
Malok will attempt to shoot the vine in two..

'well at least he didn't hit me'seeing Malok's arrow fly off, Ivar rolls his eyes, regaining his composure slightly, grasping his axe in both hands as he dangles off the ground impaled on the rough trap, wincing due to the pain from the spikes, he swings at the rope that is holding him against the tree. assuming it is a tree ;)
Not really sure what kind of numbers to use to attack the rope your dangling from...

Janzadar approaches Ivar and cast some healing spells on him.

"Feeling better?"
Ivar "Goldilocks" Theodinson
'that will work...aaaaggghhh, ouch, crap what was I thinking' dropping from the tree onto his head, Ivar begins to stand just as Janzadar, quickly heals hm. Dusting himself off Ivar composes himself the best he can covered in his own drying blood, "Yes Janzadar, much better, thank you." nodding to the captain, "I will keep that in mind next time my friend," Looking to the rest of the party, patting his axe, he asks, "Shall we continue, I would like to find who put this trap here, and give them a piece of my....mind." Ivar turns and begins to follow the path again, this time attempting to be more cautious.

Thanks for healing Ivar Janzadar, I don't mind using Ivar as a meat shield, but his perception isn't as good as some others. If someone else wants the front go ahead but I'm happy to keep moving along.
Ivar "Goldilocks" Theodinson
Looking at the path that runs north-west to south-east, Ivar recommends, "Lets follow this path south to the coast and then follow the coast line back north to our original camp."
if it's ok with everyone
Ivar, axe in hand, begins to follow the path south-east toward the coast with the intent to begin following the beach heading back to their camp, keeping a keen eye out.
