Malok finds a good tree to climb up in and take a perch.. No more sleeping on the ground with zombies about.

Watching Malok climb the tree Ivar, who had started gathering branches, calls up to him, "Hey Malok toss down any loose sticks, I will take them to Lalali-Re."

Taking the sticks to Lalali-Re he sits down and tries to help. Asking the group in general, "shall we keep the same watching order as last night?"

Ivar is still around half HP, any chance a caster can help him out before they go to sleep?

Since you're working with wood:
Craft: carpentry, basket, or trap would all work.

Craft carpentry: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (16) + 4 = 20
Lalali sits down to craft a basket with the friendly help of Ivar.

Watch order is fine, we can keep it. Thanks for your help! I don´t have any healing spells unfortunately. Mine are magic and there´s not much in that department i can provide.

"Yes, I think the same watch order..."

Your craft skill is able to come up with a cage you deem perfectly functional, if not terribly stylish. Then again given what you had to work with, you are pretty proud of it. Sasha is quite taken with it.

Who´s gonna be cooking and what?

Not much more action from my part probably.

You spend an uneventful evening in camp. The sullen NPCs remain sullen, the friendly ones gab around the campfire with you asking about the day's exploits.

Morning rolls around.

any chance anyone burned a clw on Ivar before we went to bed?

I expect if people had spells left they would have, but I don't keep track of people's spells.

Right, sorry.
Janzadar "burns" his last 3 Channels before bed.
Channel: 1d6 ⇒ 1
Channel: 1d6 ⇒ 4
Channel: 1d6 ⇒ 3
That should do it, right? If not, use a Spontaneous Cure Light Wounds

thanks Janzadar, that puts Ivar at 15

'I'm Glad we have that native priest aboard, feels like most of the bones have mended.' As Ivar wakes up he stretches only slightly sore from the beating he received the day before. Gathering his gear and eating a quick breakfast he points down the beach clockwise, the opposite direction that they went the day before. "Shall we head the opposite direction today and see what we can find?" Waiting a couple of moments to see who follows along, He hefts his axe and begins walking that direction. Keeping his eyes peeled looking for anything interesting.

You also get Your level in HP back from resting overnight (which happens to be 1 right now of course).

I also healed you for 3 if you missed that..

"Well what shall we do today? Try the coast more or head inland?"

Get that Lizard thing for our friend here? And probably look for some more food and usefull stuff. It might be good to fortify our base here a bit more.

'I want to catch a lizard for Sasha, never hurts to try and help out a fellow crewmember, but I'd rather climb a lower cliff.' Pointing up the beach the other direction, Ivar recommends "Lets head up the beach the opposite way and see what there is, then we can go inland tomorrow. Those who stay behind can improve the camp. If we don't find any lizards that are easier today or tomorrow lets go back and catch the one we saw yesterday."

I'm assuming we are exploring the other direction for a day and then heading inland. If we are going back the way we went yesterday lets move the camp and slowly work our way around the island. Or do we want to set a base camp that we return to every few days instead of every night?

Janzadar follows the others.

Allright. Let´s look for another chance of lizard. Perhaps we could even come from the top of the cliff from the other side and let us down with a rope, insead of climbing up. Can someone bring a rope and some equipment used for such climbing purposes please?

'rope and grappling hook are not a bad idea' Ivar shrugs his shoulders and picks up the grappling hook and 150 ft rope from the boats supplies, tucking them in his pack, "OK, we should be about ready to go now." Shouldering his axe he then begins to head clockwise down the beach, assuming those who want to go will follow.

"And so the intrepid adventurers and their handsome leader the Colonel are off again in search of adventure, or, even better, rescue!"

Do you intend to proceed north along the coast or inland? The coast is a lot easier, as inland means you are moving along hills and cliffs.

I assumed the coast, just the opposite direction

Male Human (Bonuwat) Cleric of Shimye-Magalla 4 | HP 23/23 | AC 14 T 13 FF 12 CMD 16 | F+5 R+5 W+9 | Init +2 | Perc +8 | Status: Normal

Right, the coast.

You all follow along the coast to the NW this time (mostly W). It's rather like the coast to the southeast.

Eventually you come upon another shipwreck washed up on the rocks of the shore.

1d100 ⇒ 66

You see no movement in this wreck. It looks pretty beat up, like it's been here quite a while.

"Shall we search it as well?"

We probably should. Seems to be here for some time, but who knows what ancient treasures might await us. Or horrors. We might even find something useful. I´ll leave the presedence to the gentleman.

Lalali has 2 charm person prepared, which work on animals, monstrous humanoids and magical beasts as well. Don´t expect much besides some ray of frost though else^^

You poke around in the wreck, and this one really is a wreck. You're more concerned about it collapsing on you from a lack of structural integrity rather than any threats you might find inside. As to threats, there's nothing inside, in threats or loot.

Moving on to the next one.
"Seems ships crash here a lot."

Indeed. It´s becoming a bit suspicious, don´t you think?

Can we salvage and use the wood somehow?

The wood is rather busted up, and worm eaten. It could be useful firewood, but not much else.

Then let´s go on. Probably follow the coast a bit further?
Lalali will direct her companions that way when they don´t have objections.

'Well at least we are not fighting undead' Ivar nods at Lalai-Re's recomendation and continues heading north-west, keeping his axe ready for anything and watching for the flying lizards. or anything else.

You meander down the shore further and eventually come upon another cliff with one of the flying lizard nests.

Janzadar will cast Guidance in whoever wants to catch the new pet.

Lalali will cast her charm spell on the most promising looking speciman and then try to lure it to her and make it go into the prepared cage with the aid of a little snack.

Charm person DC 15 on animal via bloodline ability
Diplomacy: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (11) + 4 = 15

Charm person has a 25' range at your level. The nest is about 40' up the cliff.

'well we at least brought climbing gear.' Seeing the cliffs, Ivar, sinking his axe head in the sand, drops his back and begins pulling the rope and grappling hook out. Seeing Lalali open the cage and begin casting a spell, he begins to return the rope and hook to the pack. 'Or we can do that...'

Good to know. In that case:

Ivar can you climb up and install that rope somehow so it´s easier to climb? I´m really not good at climbing.

that's funny, drbuzzard ninja'd my post

Ivar nods his head, sitting his axe down he removes his pack placing it on the ground beside his axe. Taking out the 50 ft rope he ties knots every two foot so it is easier to climb, then tying the grappling hook to it. He then quickly removes his scale armor and putting the rope over his shoulder asks. "Why don't I climb up a little away from the nest. When I get up there I can lower the rope. If you like we can tie the rope around you and I can hall you up instead of making you climb."

While Lalali ponders how she wants to scale the cliff Ivar begins to climb.

drbuzzard, no armor puts his climb at +8, can he take 10(+18)on climbing the cliff?

M Halfling Rogue 2

"Yes, you, large man. Go help us capture this thing for some reason."

The cliff is pretty much the same as the last one, with the same values, for that same question. The DC is 20. Hence, no.

sorry, I didn't remember

Ivar looks up the cliff identifying hand holds, "Well, the days not getting shorter." He places one hand on the cliffs and begins to climb.
without armor 40 ft speed, at half
climb: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (17) + 8 = 25
climb: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (14) + 8 = 22

is it actually 40 or do we need another roll?

When climbing you make it 1/4 your normal movement speed (you can double that if you up the DC). Those rolls get you halfway.

sorry was reading in a hurry and saw 1/2 speed

climb: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (20) + 8 = 28
climb: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (16) + 8 = 24

Getting to the top of the cliff, Ivar looks around hoping to find something to attack the rope to so he can toss it down.

perception: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (9) + 5 = 14

You can find a solid looking shrub which looks like it would hold your weight to loop it around.

Ivar ties the rope to the shrub and tosses the other end of the knotted rope down the cliff to the rest of the crew. "I think were tied solid, Lalali do you want me to hall you up so you can do your mojo?"

A rope against a wall is a pretty easy time (even easier if you knotted it).

Climb: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (3) - 1 = 2
Climb: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (18) - 1 = 17
Climb: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (19) - 1 = 18
Climb: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (12) - 1 = 11
Climb: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (1) - 1 = 0

Oh no! After a bad start Lalali manages to climb up only to fall down on the last quarter, possibly to her death...

4 or 3d6 falling damage?
