I just dropped a note to a person using the "sign up for an AP" spreadsheet that Malevor and Chaenath used. He has an Inquisitor of Caiden.

Could be a good fit, another part time healer, and right now is a decent time to add a new PC, as it would seem the group is about to go for the Grindylows.

What does an Inquisitor of Caiden get all worked up over? "You're not drinking enough, damn you! It offends my deity! Now drink up, or you will be tortured!"

He and Doc will sure get well along.. Lot of worshipping be happening ;)

Diego Ex Machina would certainly help, too :) On the other hand, we have now two healing spells between the two part-time healers, which is quite close to having one dedicated healer. Only channeling cleric/oracle would do better at this level... What we need, is a wand of CLW or IH :)

And I've always though Rogar more of a bonesaw kind of a doctor ;)

Roll20 Maps Loot

Ok, so either via Diego ex machina or inquisitor of Caiden ex machina you guys will get all healed up tonight, and wake up as 3rd level tomorrow, so level yourselves up.

I do believe we have an Inquisitor incoming.

A tall, thin man with enters the room with a jingling of chainmail, the wooden flagon at his hip showing his devotion and favorite pastime.

"Greetings gentlemen! I am Ethron, and I shall be your newest adventuring companion."

Hello everyone! I just lvled this guy up to 3rd, changed some info 'bout him, and he's ready to go! I haven't played the first part of S&S, but I've wanted to get involved with it. Wish me luck!

Roll20 Maps Loot

If you're interested in PFS credit, the timing is perfect. The sanctioned portion is coming up. You didn't play through the drudgery of the first 21 days, so you got lucky.

I'll email you your entry, and you guys can role play it as you meet.

We can continue in the gameplay thread, whenever you guys have something you want to do.

I ask this question with all the campaigns I'm in and I love the variety of answers.

If your character had a voice actor, who would it be?

Ethron would sound like Doug Jones, the voice and actor behind Abraham Sapien from Hellboy, only a lot more fun :)

GM, you too! What's our narrator sound like?

Roll20 Maps Loot

When at the gaming table, I do voices for NPCs and PCs alike. I also do them when reading to my 5 year old, so it depends.

I fall into stereotypes with NPCs. Dwarves with a brogue, etc.

Now with my half Orc PC, I use a guttural Asian/Japanese speech for them when speaking common, BUT when we switch over to orcish, I put in a lofty proper englishman's speech. My table mates love it, and for those speak orcish as a second language, they usually go guttural when speaking it. It's quite a hoot.

As for my real voice, hmmmm, I dunno, you never hear your real voice, and when you do, you don't think it sounds like you. Reasonably deep I guess, but not a bass.

I'll be at Gencon playing a bit of PFS if anyone else is going.

Ethron, great question! Alessandra could be played by Chloe Grace Moretz (Hit Girl from Kick-Ass) - sassy, brattish, infuriating, but hellaciously dangerous and more loyal to her friends than she would care to admit.

Moving discussion of order/tactics etc to the discussion section:

Alessandra can shoot into melee and is tough enough to stand up and fight; she would make a decent rearguard.

Malevor is a swashbuckler = melee, plus he has darkvision, so suggest he go at the front.

Doc and Chaenath in the middle, with Ethron and Alessandra toward the rear.

Doc tanglebombs, Malevor stabs, we shoot, and Chaenath hexes 'em into oblivion.

Plan?

Hey Malevor! I've got a couple questions for you!

1. Does your character have something against religion? Mine's just if you're sober you're sinning. And locking people up and working against their will, but that's another thing.

2. Being a Rakasha-born tiefling, do you have any of their traits? Do you look like a tiger? Do you have backward facing hands? etc.

3. Favorite kind of drink? I could probably convince a local bar to get you that!

I don't mean to meta-game, but I just wanted to clear something up.

When I said I was going for them, I assumed I was swimming to them 10' below the water surface. In doing so, I was grabbing the chain that was wrapped around them, not the chain that was dragging underwater.

If I was holding onto them directly, I would only have to swim 10' to get them to the surface instead of have them continue to sink.

That being said, what the GM says goes, so take this however you want my friend.

As a side note, I have no idea what you guys are talking about with Rugby, just that it isn't a popular sport in the USA, but I have severe respect for players. Props.

They were probably too far away for you to get to them and do everything else you were doing. (All of which were great uses of your powers BTW).

Roll20 Maps Loot

Indeed, text and message boards are an imperfect medium for the transmittal of certain information.

I had interpreted you as going for the chain itself, as something somewhat swimmable, vice the two prisoners tied together, as one person swimming and carrying two would be superhuman (which doesn't mean it can't happen in a game like this obviously).

My thought was your intent was to catch the chain, and swim it to shore, at which point the party could heave ho and pull the prisoners ashore with you. "Shore" here meaning, the shallower spot in the cavern where you entered.

Seems like you've no objection to playing it forward that way, so let's go with it.

I played in college, in the USA, of course that was, ummm, back during the first Bush administration. Most colleges had a men's side or two, some women's teams as well.

There's an irony in your saying "Props" in this context too.

Again, no clue about rugby, but from the one game I saw on TV, it looked like full contact no-holds-barred unpadded grid iron. It looked brutal.

It is; it's a fantastic game. Every year (Feb/March) I watch the Six Nations avidly (a contest between England, France, Ireland, Italy, Scotland and Wales) - the atmosphere and the rivalry adds an incredible edge to what is already a superb game.

I used to play regularly (wing-forward, as they were called then), but my knee gave out. And yes, the 'props' comment (unintentional though it was) was superb punning!

Sounds good to me.

Please, please, PLEASE tell me we're gonna be able to upgrade our equipment soon....

Doing some research and math, I've tallied our total loot gain (since I joined):

Total Tally:

  • Potion of Water Breathing(750gp)
  • Leather Armor(10gp)
  • Spears(6)(2gp)
  • Tailored Clothing(8)(30gp)
  • Ring of Swimming(2500gp)
  • Wand of Mirror Image(23 charges)(???gp)
  • Potion of CMW(50gp)
  • Wand of summon nature's ally II(12 charges)(???gp)
  • vindictive harpoon(10,305gp)
  • 2 MW Dagger(2)(302gp)
  • MW Silver dagger(
  • MW cold iron sickle(
  • 12 other blades of varying shape(???gp)
  • Whale skull weighing 25 pounds whose scrimshaw carvings function as arcane scrolls of alter self, black tentacles, blur, color spray, daylight, enlarge person, hypnotism, slow, touch of idiocy, and vampiric touch(???gp)
  • Various other items of value = 1290gp

If sold at half price, including the items we plan to keep (this number can change), we get a total pool of 8047gp 5sp. Split between the 5 of us we get 1609gp and 5sp each.

Think you can fill in some of the empty numbers GM? This number includes the spear and tankard, since I think Alessandra wants to keep the spear and I want to keep the tankard.

Let me know if my math is off!

Roll20 Maps Loot

What needs upgraded? If you find yourself at Wal Mart, then buy what you need!

Prices for the wands? 23/50 and 12/50 of their usual prices.

The 12 other blades is sort of "make sure folks have their favored weapons." Call them each 10gp if you wish, or if someone needs 12 daggers, etc.

+1 Bab

Slayer Talent - Ranger Style: Precise Shot

6 Skill points

Right, I'm all levelled up!

The one thing I can't do is a list of all the loot we've acquired - I post mainly from my phone, so that sort of thing is pretty much impossible. If anyone can do that for us, they have my everlasting gratitude.

I'm taking the +1 harpoon unless anyone else wants it - if it's a martial weapon, I think I might be the only one who can use it anyway...
