Thank you all so much for your patience! I'm back now, and reading through what I missed. It stinks to miss out on what's gone on and I'm eager to get back in!

Aye, the coast is always enjoyable. Just makes my desire to be a pirate all the greater as well! So far, It's worked out well that Diego is failing his fatigue rolls... it provides a decent explanation for his relative absence.

I also apologize, as a player, for not affording Alessandra the same courtesy when she received the lash. Diego, as far as I can tell, has no knowledge of that event as it seems to have happened after he went to sleep. If I'm understanding that incorrectly, he would wish to help by healing the wounds!
Hey Diego, no problem at all - given your absence as a player (and the fact that Diego took an early night that evening), I don't see a need to try and retcon events from day 3 when we're now well into the end of day 4 (Bellara and I are trying, with mixed success). Besides, by taking lethal damage Doc has upstaged me anyway ;)
I suspect however that even if not present at the time of her flogging, Diego would now be aware of it - news and gossip travel fast on a small ship.

I imagine that's true. He hasn't been around anyone until now (sleeping or working solo), but hopefully would have heard news of it by now. I also realize I didn't resolve anything with her scarf either (though certainly we're assuming she got it back safely at the end of that day!)
I'll try to keep note of these so I can bring them up later and maybe bring a little resolution to loose ends I've left.

OK - that's not ideal but I'll go ahead anyway if no one else will. On the subject of cheating, can Diego & Shaeda add their bonuses or is that not allowed even on a pirate ship? Thanks

Sorry guys, at this dramatic moment I'm having internet access issues! Normal service will definitely be resumed tomorrow evening (UK time) at the latest
There are, but most are highly specific to circumstance and there are many. I can't really list them but won't be screwing people over if that's what you're concerned about. I tend to use the rules as a guideline more than as firm laws... If any rule seems stupid to you (in the circumstance encountered) i'm happy for you to argue that they should be deviated from too.
Cool deal. In this instance the dude beat her initiative, so it didn't matter, but rogues losing out on half (or what would have been 55% of their damage could be a huge nerf, so I just wanted to know if there were other nerfs out there.
As I stated earlier, I'm fine with whatever, as long as I know.

That's cool. The reason it was the case, in this instance it was because both combatants were ready for the combat. In most cases one side or the other will not be fully prepared for a combat so the rogue would still get the sneak attack. This only applies to the first round of combats anyway - so the 55% of damage is only applicable if the combat only lasts a single round.

Glad you did. Family has flown east for a week, which is quite a feat with two babies. But I'm popping in as I want to keep things rolling. Update coming shortly (from my phone)...
Lodestone, no problem about taking some time, life has its twists and turns. Reminds me of this one time we was bearing two points close to the wind on the starboard tack in a gale trying to beat around the sea wall into Magnimar. Anyways...
I thought I would take a moment and apologize for my recent lack of long flowing prose and accented chitter chatter from Shaeda. It's tough to stay super motivated RPing the long days at sea, and not just for a bilge rat like me!
Still, I enjoy the group and look forward to the rest of the AP, once we break out of the funk that is Plugg!
I've had a PM from Bellara, and she should be back in the game soon. I want to give her a little while to post but will update tonight if she hasn't posted by then.
