ACG swashbuckler would be awesome tank for this campaign, great AC despite light armor. Great flavor, too...

What I liked about the 15+roll ability set, that it created slightly less optimized characters (plus some randomness in there). Of course with 20 pt build, Rogar will be much more effective. He can stay chirurgeon, no problem.

I believe I may have recruited us a Witch and a Swashbuckler.

We'll see what changes Alessandra makes and see if we need a 5th PC or whatever.

So providing our two recruits take the bait, if they could each create their characters using a 20 point buy. Spend average wealth. Be second level, and have a backstory that ends with "and then I was captured by slavers" or words to that effect, so that we've got a method to seemlessly bring the group together.

We are, in many ways, the perfect amount in! We're through the tough slog of e first 21 days, where you get treated like crap!

My intent is to not change the story that the other PCs have been through, and to have the new PCs be captives aboard the ship they are in the process of capturing, so that from when we pick up, you guys are in the right place and time and ready to head on from there.

So while right now your gear is not in your possession, once your ship is captured, we can get you linked up with it and proceed on the adventure.

So 20pt buy., avg wealth for first level, and get a backstory that ends with you a captive.

Let's stick to Paizo material, as I'm not familiar with Witches overall, or with 3PP stuff, so 3PP Witch stuff would blow my mind.

I figure there's a chance we can complete the ship takeover, and then I'm on vacation for like 11 days from 2-13 April.

I was a player in this game. I run a Way of the Wicked game that Alessandra and Rogar play in, and I just wanted to press on in this game, which stalled last year when the GM had to drop it.

So that's how we got to where we are, in the middle of taking over the ship you are a hostage aboard.

Oh yeah, she's the Man's Promise a Rahadouni ship you were in that was captured by pirates a few days back. I may have that spelling wrong, it's late!

Lodestone had some house rules we'll keep.

1 extra skill point per level into a craft or profession skill.

Acrobatics can be used to make climb checks when unencumbered & wearing armour with no armor check penalty or no armor.

Dervish Dance works with Cutlasses.

Additionally, pick 2 traits, one of which (mechanically) must be a campaign trait, although you can reflavor it since you weren't shanghai'd like the others.

Alessandra, we originally built as first level money, but then we earned some money right? Just a little bit, from the Captain for something? You guys keep what you have, I'm just asking the newcomers to roll wih 1st level money. The AP is really about to start moving, and there will be loot for folks, so wealth will normalize rapidly.

Ok, so a Slayer, excellent. Shall I do Shaeda as more archerish? Or shall I find a 5th PC? I do think the group needs an archer.

Which of you has thoughts of being the face/captain when the time comes? Cr500? The Swashbuckler seems the best choice, and seems headed for a CHA build. That work with everyone?

OK, but I've forgotten what we earned - I will trawl through the gameplay and put a list together.

I'm going archer slayer at the moment: my level 2 slayer talent was Ranger Style, giving me Rapid Shot (I don't need to take point blank shot as a requisite!) so I'm good at range as well as up close (I kept the two-weapon fighting as it was quite iconic for her).

Alessandra has no interest in captaining, she just wants to have fun! Someone responsible should probably be captain. Or at least, someone more responsible than a CN half-orc teenager - really the bar is set pretty low here... :)

Help me, to help you...

Many modules and adventures have magical macguffin items that thee GM is instructed to morph into whatever shape suits the appropriate character's weapon preference and such.

While this AP has no such thing, I do want to morph found items into gear you guys can use, so if everyone can keep a spoiler list in their profile telling me what your preferred slotted items are and such. There's no need for all of the bad guys to drop magic longswords if someone is trying to dual wield short swords and such.

OK, I've gone through the posts to find accumulated treasure and so far we have found:

21 gp, 12 sp, masterwork dagger and ruby earring (unvalued)

Prosthetic leg of wood and silver, 7 sp, 2 gp (prosthetic leg is worth 45 gp)

well-balanced knife with ivory handle (masterwork?) plus a set of silver cutlery (6 each of 2 sizes of knife, 2 sizes of fork, 2 types of spoon and a set of salad servers)

and the money I won from beating up Owlbear got us all our starting gear back

Also, I found the most up to date version of the NPC attitudes list (see the spoiler in this gameplay post: basically, the only person still indifferent and therefore influence-able is that dratted gnome...) Oh yeah, and Ambrose the cook and Grok the quartermaster are both Helpful.

To address your other point, Alessandra is already trending CG from gameplay, but will likely never get there: a bit too fond of killing as a problem solving tool and a bit too ready to kill someone who has surrendered to be truly meriting the "G".

As for treasure, my birthday list would include:-

*Composite longbow (+2 Str), magic a useful plus
*Magic longsword and short sword
*Masterwork/magical/mithral chain shirt
*Cloak of resistance
*Belt of Dex/Con
*Quick runners shirt

That's just off the top of my head - I'm sure there's more

Backstory:
​Malevor was born on a large noble estate a half hour’s ride from Oppara itself. Born of two humans who had no connection with the lower planes, it came as a great surprise to Malevor’s parents that he was fiendspawn. Surprisingly undaunted by his less than savoury heritage, Malevor’s parents decided to raise him as if he was completely human. Malevor was taught by private tutors all the things one would expect of a nobleman: Literature, Drama, Music, Math, Religion, but most of all; Swordplay. Malevor took to Swordplay as naturally as a fish to swimming. Despite maturing slowly and outliving his swordsmaster, Malevor became an exceptional duelist. He defeated 3 noble champions over matters of honour and exposed and killed the Rakasha midwife who delivered him when it attempted to kill him. However, all would not work out for Malevor as a sect of the Cult of the Dawnflower found out about his heritage and attempted to assassinate him. Malevor survived the attack and escaped with his armour, a spare sabre and the clothes on his back. Harried by the Cult everywhere he went, Malevor fled to Rahadoum to seek refuge among the antitheists of the nation. As Malevor’s money began to wear thin, Malevor disguised himself as a human and sought work as a sailor aboard the Man’s Promise. However during a trading run The Man’s Promise was attacked by Pirate ship and the crew was quickly overwhelmed. The last thing Malevor remembers is being surrounded by Pirates and getting hit in the back of the head.

Don't think I need to mess with my backstory. She just got shanghaied as a slave onto the Man's Promise rather than the ship from the original story. Please let me know what you think.

Well, two of you are slaves on the tween decks of a ship getting captured and the other two are mere swabs on a pirate ship. No one is in a position where they need to worry about their prospects of captaining a ship any time soon.

On the subject of the ship's capture, looking at the gameplay thread, it looks like Shaeda has taken 7hp damage, Diego 6, and Alessandra 2. Nothing for Rogar. I'll update my status bar accordingly.
