Auriel Acherean |
Going to try and activate the following tattoos:
Sword: 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 61d6 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4 Activated
Shield: 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 31d6 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 2 = 8
Ace!: 1d6 ⇒ 2 Raise
Armor: 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 2 = 81d6 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5
Ace!: 1d6 ⇒ 5 Raise
-5 PPE; +10 MDC Armor (+4 more vs. Ranged), +3 Parry, and weapon summoned.
Activating his tattoos, Auriel resembles a Spartan warrior of old, with sword, shield, and armor made of energy.
"I am prepared monster. Are you?"
DM ShadowBloodmoon |
Since the rest of you are so far just watching the duel, I'm not dealing you in the Initiative, but if you do want to jump in, say the word and you'll get a card. That said, feel free to cheer on Auriel and jeer Agor...
The big demon smiles a fanged grin at Auriel. "At least I know I'll get what you words are worth as I tear it from your flesh, Atlantean. Show me what you're made of." He seems to be waiting for you to make the first move.
Initiative
Auriel (KC)
Agor (2H)
Auriel is up but must make a Fear (Spirit Roll) Check at -2 first, if you fail, Fright: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 2 = 7 you are Shaken.
Jonis Witta |
"Be careful Auriel!"
Jonis tries very hard to avoid remembering her mother's dead. She fears something like that can happen now.
Auriel Acherean |
Spirit | Wild Die: 1d8 - 2 ⇒ (5) - 2 = 31d6 - 2 ⇒ (6) - 2 = 4
Ace!: 1d6 ⇒ 2 6 total, which should pass.
Auriel spins his twirls his glowing blade in his hand as he advances into melee range with the creature. Once there, he swung his blade, seeking to end the fight before it could truly start.
Fighting; Wild Die: 1d12 ⇒ 121d6 ⇒ 5
Ace!: 1d12 ⇒ 4 that is a 16
MD, as I assume it is a MD creature.
Damage Roll: 1d6 + 3d8 ⇒ (2) + (3, 8, 2) = 15
Ace: 1d8 ⇒ 7
Raise Damage if Appropriate: 1d6 ⇒ 1
that is 22 (23 with a raise) damage AP 4 in total. A good opening shot, if I do say so myself.
DM ShadowBloodmoon |
An amazing first strike! However...
Agor is almost surprised as Auriel's blade catches him in the chest plate, drawing sparks as it slices a deep gash in it. The demon staggers back a bit, his eyes glaring at the tattooed man. "Impressive little man, but you will not survive this!" The demon attacks fiercely, striking high with his blade and coming in low with his metallic arms, but Auriel's skill with his shield is definitely more impressive than the demon first thought...
Shaken?: 1d10 ⇒ 91d6 ⇒ 1
Chain Sword Fighting v. 11: 1d12 ⇒ 81d6 ⇒ 3
Bionic Punch (four arms, no MAP) v. 11: 1d12 ⇒ 71d6 ⇒ 3
Auriel is up..
DM ShadowBloodmoon |
Ouch! He'll be spending a GM Benny to soak that..
Soak!: 1d12 ⇒ 81d6 ⇒ 1 Soak two of three wounds..
Shake It Off: 1d10 - 1 ⇒ (3) - 1 = 21d6 - 1 ⇒ (5) - 1 = 4 Success, No action this round.
Not realizing his hubris left an opening, Agor's eyes go wide as Auriel's blade finds its mark. He lets out a low growl as he prepares for another assault.
In your comm pieces, you can hear the voice from before, the pilot of the robot. "Mayhaps I misjudged the lot of you. I'll add to the pot. You kill Agor and his buddies, I'll stand down and let the prisoners return to their homes. Deal?"
Agor is wounded, Auriel is up..
Assaultmech Atlas 21-12 |
Atlas answers back on his internal comm. ***Clarification requested. If the allies of Agor honor the agreement and stand down, what will your action be?
If the allies of Agor order a general attack and do not honor the agreement, what will your action be?***
Auriel Acherean |
Seeing his foe staggered, Auriel steps in and attempts to disarm his foe.
Quick question: Can I disarm him without harming him? I have code of honor, which means Auriel doesn't feel right just straight up murdering him while he's defenseless, but I would like to take his weapon away. Normally, you just make an attack targeting the arm to diarm and the opponent rolls his str. vs the damage dealt, but I would like not to harm him in the process. Assuming that is ok, here is my attack roll to disarm (including the -2 called shot penalty).
Diarm: 1d12 - 2 ⇒ (3) - 2 = 11d6 - 2 ⇒ (3) - 2 = 1
Benny #3
Diarm Reroll: 1d12 - 2 ⇒ (5) - 2 = 31d6 - 2 ⇒ (3) - 2 = 1
Auriel can't really bring himself to strike down a defenseless enemy, and so the power just isn't into his swing at the creature's weapon.
Burgurk |
Auriel - RAW says that "The attacker may choose to make this a nonlethal attack with a melee weapon", so if you did end up Incapacitating him with your disarm blow, he'd only be unconscious.
DM SBM - are you aware that there are new Shaken rules that allow the un-Shaken character to act on only a Success?
DM ShadowBloodmoon |
I was not aware of that change... was that a Savage Rifts only ruling or SW in general? I have the Deluxe Explorer's edition of the rules..
@Auriel- The difficulty here, not that it matters now, is that his chain blade is attached. Though you could certainly say you're removing the blade by itself I suppose..
"Depends on how much you got hiding in your pockets. Pay me more than I was hired for and not only will I not fight you, I'll help you put them down. Pay me nothing and I simply walk away.", comes over the radio.
Auriel attempts a half-hearted swing at Agor's weapon, but the blow is a glancing one and the demon barely registers it, instead bearing down on the man with the same fury as before, making no progress. "Why do you drag out this fight, mortal? Submit and we will make your death quick."
Fighting Sword: 1d12 - 1 ⇒ (6) - 1 = 51d6 - 1 ⇒ (5) - 1 = 4
Bionic Arms: 1d12 - 1 ⇒ (5) - 1 = 41d6 - 1 ⇒ (3) - 1 = 2
Burgurk |
1 person marked this as a favorite. |
DM SBM - that was a change that was announced on the forums in 2015, and covers *all* Savage World settings. The PDF is HERE, and a short explanation of why they did it and its ramifications are explained by Clint HERE.
Also note, they changed the ruling that you could roll to recover from Shaken in the middle of your turn (if, say, someone interrupts you and makes you Shaken) to "you can only roll to recover from Shaken at the beginning of your turn". So if someone interrupts you in the middle of your turn and makes you Shaken, you lose the rest of your (non-Free) actions.
Auriel - why do you say he should still be Shaken?
Jonis Witta |
Jonis answers the voice on the radio, from the robot she is facing up.
"If you are keeping the prisoners, you will have to release them at once, and submit to us, or we will free them and capture you by force. If you comply and help us, we will hear your side of the story and make sure you receive a fair trial, guaranteeing your life in the process."
Persuation Roll: 1d6 + 4 ⇒ (1) + 4 = 5
Wild Die: 1d6 ⇒ 1
Critical Failure! Brace for impact!
DM ShadowBloodmoon |
Again the creature is struck, but Auriel's weapon doesn't appear to do much more than annoy the thing. "You can't hurt me, little man. Luck was with you before, but now you will die." He comes at Auriel with his full strength, but is only able to force him to duck under his magical shield.
Sword: 1d12 - 1 ⇒ (8) - 1 = 71d6 - 1 ⇒ (1) - 1 = 0
Arms: 1d12 - 1 ⇒ (1) - 1 = 01d6 - 1 ⇒ (5) - 1 = 4
In the comms channel, all you hear in response is static and those of you nearby watch as the robot starts to move down river, towards the town...
DM ShadowBloodmoon |
The robot pilot says nothing as he sinks beneath the river surface...
2nd Benny to Soak Soak!: 1d12 - 1 ⇒ (12) - 1 = 111d6 - 1 ⇒ (6) - 1 = 5
The demonic leader takes another hit, but seems to ignore the effect, instead backing away defensively. "It seems we are evenly matched, Atlantean. I yield to your skill. For now. You may take your people home, but rest assured, our master will not let this go lightly. "
He doesn't say anything more as he rounds up the other demons and orders them to release the prisoners. You can tell the demons are confused by this, but they follow the orders anyway.
Your mind wants to question, but the rush of people running towards you, embracing you in thanks and relief doesn't give you much time to figure out anything. One of the prisoners, an older dwarf by the looks of him, approaches you. "Thought we was going to be slaughtered. Those demons didn't seem interested in talking much before, but they sure listened to you. Will you be taking us home now? Quite a few of these folk need my attention and most of my equipment is in town."

Burgurk |
The moment he hears the demon yield, Burgurk shouts "Jonis, with me!" and takes off at a run after the robot.
Running: 1d6 ⇒ 6
Running: 1d6 ⇒ 6
Running: 1d6 ⇒ 6
Running: 1d6 ⇒ 2
Running: 1d6 ⇒ 6
Running: 1d6 ⇒ 3
Running until I catch up to him.
Jonis Witta |
Jonis swiftly grabs Burgurk and carries him on her hand as her Glitter Girl covers the distance much faster than the Simvan on foot.
Running: 1d10 ⇒ 7
Running: 1d10 ⇒ 10
Running: 1d10 ⇒ 3
Running: 1d10 ⇒ 6
Running: 1d10 ⇒ 3
Running: 1d10 ⇒ 8
If she needs to go "underwater" she leaves him behind and goes by herself.
DM ShadowBloodmoon |
Jonis and Burgurk race after the robot, attempting to catch up quickly, but even in water, the machine is fast.
Chase Mode! Round 1 of 5
Jonis and Burgurk Maneuvering checks please, both at -2 for terrain.
Robot Maneuver (Piloting): 1d10 - 2 ⇒ (2) - 2 = 01d6 - 2 ⇒ (1) - 2 = -1
Meanwhile, Attie keeps a watch as the demons retreat and several of the townsfolk come forward. The dwarven doctor and Auriel see to any immediate wounds, a couple of laser burns, quite a few abrasions and a broken collar bone are the worst of it, at least physically...
"We should probably get moving. I don't trust those demons any more than I can toss them. ", the doctor says as he finishes securing a brace for someone.
Assaultmech Atlas 21-12 |
Stealth!: 1d10 ⇒ 6
"I do not trust them at all," replies Atlas, standing up behind the doctor. "Though I think I could toss them very far. But I would not. I would just layer them in a spread of grenades for maximum tactical effectiveness," he states.
DM ShadowBloodmoon |
Fair enough Burgurk, we'll count you as a passenger...going to Bot Jonis for this first round..
JonisBot Agility: 1d8 - 2 ⇒ (1) - 2 = -11d6 - 2 ⇒ (2) - 2 = 0
The dwarven doctor is visibly shaken by Attie's sudden appearance. Gathering himself up, he turns to the giant killing machine. "Perhaps that will be necessary at some point, and I welcome your superior firepower, but for now, simply making sure they don't double back on us would be sufficient I think." The doctor helps you gather up the rest of the townsfolk and you start on the path to the Garnet Town.
Meanwhile, Jonis carries Burgurk cradled in the arm of her Glitter Girl armor while they tromp through the mud at the shore of the river, trying to get a line on the robot ahead of them, but all they can see is the distant wake of his passing as he continues unabated.
Round 2 Agility roll from Jonis please...
Jonis Witta |
Well, we both roll poorly the first time around. Let's see if I can do any better.
Agility Roll: 1d8 ⇒ 7
Wild Die: 1d6 ⇒ 3
Maybe Burgurk can help by telling her where to step on... a +1 can give us a raise on the check.
DM ShadowBloodmoon |
Robot Pilot: 1d10 - 2 ⇒ (1) - 2 = -11d6 - 2 ⇒ (3) - 2 = 1
Not necessarily, remember the -2 for Terrain. Still, one success earns you a card, 9 of Spades. Jonis gets one action, as does Burgurk. You have advantage, but are at Long Range, so -4 to Attacks or Force rolls.
The GG and her Simvan copilot gain some distance on the robot as the deeper water slows him down.
Burgurk |
Burgurk tries to mentally target the mind of the pilot of the robot :
Psionics & Wild: 1d10 - 4 ⇒ (2) - 4 = -21d6 - 4 ⇒ (6) - 4 = 2
Wild ACE!: 1d6 ⇒ 3 = 5, a Success!
Damage: 6d6 ⇒ (3, 6, 3, 6, 6, 1) = 25
Damage ACES!: 3d6 ⇒ (2, 2, 5) = 9 = 34 points of mental damage
DM ShadowBloodmoon |
Burgurk reaches out with his mind, pushing through tons of water and then metal and ceramic alloys to finally find the pilot of the robot. Though the machine interferes with the connection, Burgurk blasts through, his will stronger than any man made thing. He feels the pressure of the man trying to hold him off, but it is still effective. The machine suddenly changes direction.
Wow... waiting to see if Jonis fires or not (or something else), otherwise, you got a wound on him...
DM ShadowBloodmoon |
Not really, but you can Force them to crash or stop using another Agility check v. his Piloting check and if you succeed you can cause him to get a -2 on his next roll and if you raise, you can cause him to run into something.
Jonis Witta |
Let's try that.
Jonis tries to extend and hit the escaping robot to make it tumble or even crash, stopping it.
Agility Roll: 1d8 ⇒ 4
Wild Die: 1d6 ⇒ 1
DM ShadowBloodmoon |
Piloting Resist Maneuver: 1d10 - 2 - 1 ⇒ (4) - 2 - 1 = 11d6 - 2 - 1 ⇒ (6) - 2 - 1 = 3
Wild Ace!: 1d6 ⇒ 5
Unfortunately, even with Burgurk messing with his head, the pilot still has skills that enable him to outmaneuver Jonis. She might have even found her match.
Round 3
Robot Piloting: 1d10 - 2 - 1 ⇒ (5) - 2 - 1 = 21d6 - 2 - 1 ⇒ (4) - 2 - 1 = 1
Another Agility roll from Jonis (don't forget the -2 terrain penalty) and actions from Jonis and Burgurk..
Meanwhile, during the long walk back to Garnet Town, one of the townsfolk pipes up. "So... that cyborg travelling with us.. is he... dangerous?" The dwarf doctor shakes his head.
"They rescued us didn't they?"
"Yeah, but I recognize that design...mmmffmm.", someone's hand goes over his mouth, then he relaxes and doesn't say anything more...
Jonis Witta |
Jonis presses out her efforts, to stop the robot before it can make any damage.
Agility Roll: 1d8 - 2 ⇒ (1) - 2 = -1
Wild Die: 1d6 ⇒ 3
Can she spend a benny to reroll?
Agility Roll: 1d8 - 2 ⇒ (2) - 2 = 0
Wild Die: 1d6 ⇒ 4
She feels like the robot is escaping her, but she steels her nerves and press on!
Another benny?
Agility Roll: 1d8 - 2 ⇒ (7) - 2 = 5
Wild Die: 1d6 ⇒ 2
Now we are talking! So she can spend two bennies for that result?
Burgurk |
Jonis, you can spend as many Bennies as you have on re-rolling the same Trait roll, but in this case you got a Success on your second Wild die...oh, no, wait - you didn't - don't forget to include bonuses and penalties on your Wild die roll as well.
I'll have to wait for DM SBM to draw a card for us to know what I can do this round...
