Jonis Spirit: 1d6 - 2 + 2 ⇒ (6) - 2 + 2 = 6

Adding to the thunder of Attie's firepower, Jonis' GG fires off some rounds from her Boom Gun, sending two hundred ceramic titanium alloy flechettes at Mach 5 towards the demons. As the one falls from Attie's assault, the other two near him are obliterated into nothingness.

The combined assault doesn't seem to deter the other demons, as they start firing their weapons while closing the distance. Some of them appear to fade from view and then reappear much closer.

Most of their fire only serves to make you duck for cover or trust in your armor's strength, but Burgurk's bravery gets him a blast right in the chest. The searing heat burns as it goes through a layer of your armor.

DM SBM - I can't tell who's who on the map, so I didn't know where to move. Can you add labels to the icons, or at least post a description of each icon, and name it (Brodkil, Agor, Symon, huge demon that just came thru [and can you make him a 2x2 square icon?])?

Did my 27 points of damage do anything to the Brodkil?
Also, why is Attie up again? Are you not going to re-deal initiative cards? Going first in SW is a big deal - if the same person always goes first in a one-on-one, otherwise equal combat, they have a 10% better chance of winning!

Auriel will run in the direction of the rift.

Savage Rifts RotRwT

Burgurk attempts to assault the mind of the big demon and almost regrets it as soon as he makes contact. Visceral images of death and destruction greet him and almost cause him to lose focus. Instead, he pushes through and the demon recoils mentally and physically. His eyes smolder red hot as he stares down Burgurk. "You will all die. I will have all of your souls. I will take extra time with your soul. I sense your sins. Should I reveal them to your friends?"

Gar'Thul Soak!: 1d12 ⇒ 12

Symon, for his part, may have masterminded something, but he will now no longer be able to answer for anything. Where once was a laughing, maniacal spellcaster, a crimson mist remains.

The burst hits the large demon as well, but it doesn't seem to phase him, the flechettes melting as they hit his skin.

Two more of the Brodkil demons charge at Auriel as he begins to get closer, dropping their rifles and drawing vibroblades as they circle him, licking their lips as if he were to be food.

Agor Fighting v. Auriel Parry 11: 1d12 ⇒ 101d6 ⇒ 4

DM SBM, drawing a weapon while running requires an Agility roll, on a failure the weapon isn't drawn this round. This would affect the Brodkil's action(s) next round, as drawing a weapon and attacking on the same round imposes a -2 MAP to the Fighting roll.

Savage Rifts RotRwT

No reach for Agor that I am aware of, his size doesn't allow for it. He does however have an extra cybernetic arm allowing for 1 extra action at no penalty. That and his chainsword is built in... Auriel's attack doesn't beat his Parry..

The sound of the boom gun echoes across the valley as Jonis lets another volley loose into the fray. As the flechette rounds disintegrate one of the demons, the leader, Agor, is also hit. Most of his armor plating is shattered and he screams out in some semblance of pain. He attempts to stand, the regain his honor, but Auriel is there to finish the job. The magical weapon pierces Agor's heart and the demon discorporates into nothingness. That leaves only the one cyborg facing Auriel, a sudden look of fear crossing his otherwise furious face. He attempts a half-hearted attack at the Atlantean warrior and is easily parried.

As the great demon focuses his wrath on Jonis, Burgurk slams bolts of pure force into him, his own rage adding to their power. Gar'Thul staggers a bit and loses his grip on Jonis' Glitter Girl.

Attie takes full advantage of the distraction and opens fire, attempting to do something against the being's abyssal hide.

Unfortunately the burst first hits Jonis' Glitter Girl before the rest of it tears into Gar'Thul. The rounds flatten against Jonis's Chromium Armor and again rip through the demon with little effect. Then out of nowhere a flash of energy crosses the battlefield and impacts the demon as well. The only thing that seems to be doing any damage is Burgurk's power...

I believe I need to make a Vigor roll to avoid dying, and should have made one last round.

Vigor | Wild Die: 1d8 - 3 ⇒ (5) - 3 = 21d6 - 3 ⇒ (6) - 3 = 3

Auriel - your Wild die Aced, so re-roll it! There's hope for you yet!

No, you're at 3 wounds. If you go past that is when you get incapacitated. Unless I'm reading the wrong version of Savage Worlds...

you're right SBM. I thought I had hit 4 effective wounds, but I redid the math and it's only 3.

Auriel - since you're still alive, you get to take an action this round...

So I do!

Standing back up, Auriel will move again into the fray and swing his enchanted blade in an arc at the demon.

Auriel, his wounds barely slowing him in his determination to end this threat, cuts a deep wound in the demon's belly, causing him to roar out in pain and release Jonis. Sensing her moment, she engages the Glitter Girl's arm servos and grabs Gar'Thul in a bear hug and squeezes tightly to him. As she does so, she notices the silhouette on her scanner reads as a Forager-class robot, the same one that was here before. This distracts her and she loses her grip on the demon. Attie opens fire, but only manages to keep him from escaping..

Auriel's blade enters the demon's back and its mouth opens with a silent scream as it begins to fade from existence. The nearby Rift collapses with a loud boom and with it, Gar'Thul is gone. An eerie silence sets over the battlefield, but it is soon broken by the sound of approaching booted soldiers. The Forager strolls through towards you and is backed up by several Coalition Soldiers and an officer in the process of removing his helmet. He says over his armor's loudspeaker, "Well done, Legionnaires. Perhaps I underestimated you. While normally I would arrest the lot of you, you have kept Garnet Town from harm and so I grant you leniency. For now. I hope in the future we can continue to work together for the safety of everyone." With that, he motions for his troops to move out. The robot turns and follows them. You are left alone on the battlefield for the moment.

End of the fight! You have all earned enough for a full advance...

Jonis gets outside of the Glitter Girl, worriedly, and moves to help Auriel.
"Are you ok? Lay down! How do you feel?"

As the demon disappears Auriel sags and then collapses to the ground. He waves off any offers of help. "I just need to rest for..." he pauses when he hears the incoming soldiers and then staggers back up to his feet.

When they finish their statement and leave, Auriel dismisses his rainment and then sits back down with a thump. "I'll take that healing now." he says with a weak smile on his face.

Burgurk tries his psychic Healing on Auriel again :
Healing-His Wounds-My Wounds & Wild: 1d10 - 3 - 1 ⇒ (5) - 3 - 1 = 11d6 - 3 - 1 ⇒ (4) - 3 - 1 = 0

But he just can't get past all those Wounds. He tries healing himself first :

Healing-My Wounds & Wild: 1d10 - 1 ⇒ (8) - 1 = 71d6 - 1 ⇒ (1) - 1 = 0

So now he's down to 1 Wound, which doesn't affect his rolls.
He tries to heal Ariel again :

Healing-His Wounds-My Wounds & Wild: 1d10 - 3 ⇒ (5) - 3 = 21d6 - 3 ⇒ (2) - 3 = -1

And now he's running out of PP...

He tries manual healing :
Healing-His Wounds: 1d4 - 3 ⇒ (1) - 3 = -21d6 - 3 ⇒ (4) - 3 = 1
And he can only try that once.

About that time, as you are recovering, a few of the members of Garnet Town's population start coming over the hill and making their way towards you. Among them is Old Man Duncan, the dwarven doctor. He looks at Auriel and sighs. "Can't say I've seen many wounds like these before, but I can see what I can do about them." He then turns to Burgurk. "We'll see to you as well, then we could use your help to get 'im back up to snuff. Are the rest of you well enough to travel back on your own?"

Auriel staggers to his feet again and says "I can still walk."

Savage Rifts RotRwT

As a group, you return to Garnet Town amid the applause of the entire population. Lithari, the mayor, stands at the head of the group. "I knew something was up when we couldn't find Symon. Thank you again Legionnaires. It is for the best that we continue on our own with the help of the Tomorrow Legion. You may tell your superiors that we accept their offer. Now, before we can let you go though, let's let Duncan see to those wounds..."

You spend the next couple of days meeting with some of the town and recuperating from your recent battle. All of you take the time to spend your advances..

When you are able to get word back to HQ, they send a response that you probably weren't expecting.

"We're having trouble getting transportation to your area. Coalition and the Feds have been having some skirmishes recently and we haven't been able to get anything through. High Command says to sit tight and scout the area, see what you can find. Maybe get in good with the locals, setup a base of operations and we'll send what help we can, when we can. Grim out." As usual, your commander wastes no time with pleasantries, so the message he sends is pretty clear. You're on your own for a while...
