well despite the letter from Bokken saying his brother is dead, I think we should still look into the supposed druid that the gnomes told us about. If for nothing else, to make sure that he doesn't pose a threat to the kingdom since the gnomes said he didn't seem all there.
Or maybe I'll do some gather knowledge from the local trappers and such and see if they're having any trouble in some particular area and go help them out by clearing it for them.

lol. well I'll have rory still do a gather knowledge check, but we'll take care of the druid first and if we're still up for more exploring, then we'll take care of any issues that trappers and hunters are having.

it's alright, we've been kinda slow the last few days. We're about to pick up though, just in time for the weekend too.

The normal course of event by the rules for knowledge checks is to give 1 extra peace of knowledge for every 5 you bet the DC by. However that is a bit of a pain so if you beat it by 10 just read the whole entry.
Kind of wishing for a map for these fights so I can see reach and movement actually mattering or not.
I can make basic grid maps easily enough, but uploading them in a timely manner is...not reliable.
Everyone is inside the clearing with the bear corpses, except Riva, who is at the edge of the clearing behind a tree. After being stabbed, it's probably safe to say that her back is to the tree and she has a snarling jungle cat on one side, and a knife-wielding maniac on the other.
Even if she survives their next flurry of attacks, she won't be able to withdraw without provoking from both of them.
Please don't let her die guys. Rez her if necessary.

I'm off to bed. If you guys continue on with the encounter throughout the night, don't wait up on me. Just put Riva on autopilot. She will attempt to blind the cat and try to put as much distance between herself and her foes (getting cover behind the party healer if possible).
Well, hopefully the hermit should get a sneak attack on the cat seeing as I imagine the cat will be damn surprised

I have maptools. And have gotten rather good at making maps for my games for the past 3 or 4 years I've been doing it. Comes with a grid and coordinates so players can specify movement. Very handy. And free. I've also gathered quite a collection of stuff for it.
By the way that cat is not just down it is dead really really dead.
Mallichatti really has improved the party line up. None of you are gone down sense he joined. And about every fight before he joined did have someone go into the negatives.

Not really. Slander is way harder to deal with in Cheliax.
If it's a commoner doing slander that's easy. He receives his requisite beating and he's left to bleed on the street. Unless you're order of the Rack in which case you add him to a long guest list at the local information gathering center.
If it's a noble you have to be more careful since he might actually have the right to say what he likes. In fact if he's not outright being seditious to House Thrune or Empress Abrogail he can do whatever the hell he likes.

I used it on that diplomacy check. My normal bonus is +10, +4 from touch of glory's untyped bonus and +2 from inspire competence gave me a nice little +16 to the diplomacy check
Things appear to be slowing down around here. We should probably see about filling out the calendar for Lamashan or else do some more exploring (though we may want to hunker down in our kingdom for a bit on account of the bard's accusations).
Yeah, my concern about exploring is that if we give that bard too much time alone with the kingdom, we could come back to find it in flames.

If we finish off the calendar month, we can get some BP to put towards "dragon poison" and then maybe play out the slaughter (hopefully hers).

oh man. Got everything up to date in the calendar and just made a post. Sorry I've been so MIA lately, lotta stuff happening here. Just got a kitten that's proving to be quit the handful, had a job interview yesterday for full-time that I feel good about, and I'm moving in about three weeks and I'm starting to get ready for that. Hopefully things will calm down soon.
Let's finish up this bard story arc. It's gone on long enough I think--we're basically just talking in circles. Either move on to other aspects of the game for now or resolve it in a more or less permanent manner.

On Counts Of = declaration of a criminal charge.
Might be best just to apprehend him on suspicion of espionage and bring him in for questioning. As far as I know, the only thing we might be able to get away charging him with successfully is sedition.
