Oro-Tu |
While the others keep looking around, Oro-Tu quickly runs about shifting the resources down near the broken roofed building near the raft. He works to make a large bundle with two straps, like a giant backpack, and leave it in there out of obvious visual range.
"Can grab it on way out."
Aurora Shadowbane |
If stashing the stuff is only for a few hours do we have a illusion spell to place on it so that looks like a common box of rotten food so no one will want it. Some of the illusion last for awhile. As for the building, I am game, lets go, time is a wastin. If you did decide to carry stuff around using the mule-back cords then I also could put effortless armor so that it would not slow you down.
brvheart |
So are you taking the gold on the steps or no? If so you would be at the entrance to the building up there when done.
Oro-Tu |
only 15m if we all do it so lets get it done while I am assembling my new pack haha. We can stash it there when done. If the effortless armor lasts hours then I could probably bring it with me, ant haul lasts 16hrs so I can function as several pack horses at the same time lol.

CASTING
Casting Time 1 standard action
Components V, S
EFFECT
Range personal
Target you
Duration 1 minute/level
DESCRIPTION
Armor you wear no longer reduces your speed. You also reduce the armor’s armor check penalty by 1 + 1 per five caster levels (maximum 5).
I can cast blessings of fervor and then effortless armor to make it extended 16 minutes.
School transmutation; Level cleric/oracle 4
CASTING
Casting Time 1 standard action
Components V, S, DF
EFFECT
Range close (25 ft. + 5 ft./2 levels)
Targets one creature/level, no two of which can be more than 30 ft. apart
Duration 1 round/level
Saving Throw Fortitude negates (harmless); Spell Resistance yes (harmless)
DESCRIPTION
With this blessing, you call your allies to move forth and empower them to conquer and become victorious. Each round for the duration of this spell, each of your allies can choose one of the following bonuses for that round at the beginning of its turn (their choice).
Increase its speed by 30 feet.
Stand up as a swift action without provoking an attack of opportunity.
Make one extra attack as part of a full attack action, using its highest base attack bonus.
Gain a +2 bonus on attack rolls and a +2 dodge bonus to AC and Reflex saves.
Cast a single spell of 2nd level or lower as if it were an enlarged, extended, silent, or still spell.
These effects are not cumulative with similar effects, such as those provided by haste or a speed weapon, nor do they actually grant an extra action, so you can't use it to cast a second spell or otherwise take an extra action in the round. Blessing of fervor does not stack with haste.
Oro-Tu |
Don't think 16min will be enough in here but when we get it on the way out and run it would work enough to get us distance
brvheart |
1209 figures/7 people / 10 rounds to a minute = 17 minutes 3 rounds each.
Beth Macara |
So the final plan is we pull out those figures. Total gold weight is 726.5 lbs (with everything we've taken together.
Beth gives her Muleback cords to Oro-Tu and casts Ant Haul on him. His total light load will be 1200 lbs for the next 16 hours (medium load will be 2400 lbs)
Then we move into the temple at the top of the stairs
brvheart |
The steps rise to a huge stone building, a temple without walls and bearing a stone roof atop tall stone columns. The columns are twenty feet high and five wide. Each is covered with bestial animal figures, prevalent amongst which are great sharks. Within, the columns rise and meet to form arches, each depicting sharks devouring sharks. A huge carving occupies the center of the four arches in the middle of the structure. The rooftop hosts a dozen bird figures of gold, one immediately above each pillar.
I need an order of march going up the stairs.
Beth Macara |
Then Let's keep the rest as before (with Oro-Tu at the back for now. If it's all right for all of you:
Ivar
Uraisa
Silas
Aurora
Captain Mercy
Beth
Leialoha
Oro-Tu
brvheart |
Ivar, you are working with your multitool near the top of the steps. Make a Perception check. If it is a 15 or better roll a DC 16 will save and roll init.
brvheart |
Then Ivar will not notice the creature move out of the building to attack him before it is too late:
longsword: 1d20 + 18 ⇒ (14) + 18 = 32 damage: 1d8 + 8 ⇒ (7) + 8 = 15
The Will save is important and the init for the regular round.
init creature: 1d20 ⇒ 15
A humanoid wearing iron armor stands before you. In its hand it holds a wickedly sharp longsword. Its eyes show no signs of life.
Everyone else can roll init, but will be considered prone to start round one
brvheart |
Everyone but Ivar make a DC 16 Will Save upon seeing the creature.
brvheart |
Thanks Beth, but a 1 on init is a 1 per house rules. Not that anyone is rolling between 1 and 4 anyway.
4) Initiative: Rolling a natural 1 results in an initiative of a 1.
brvheart |
init Oro-Tu: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (8) + 2 = 10
init Aurora: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (18) + 2 = 20
brvheart |
Initiative Order Round One
Capt Mercy draws weapons
Beth freebooter's call
Ivar
Aurora
Guardian
Uriasa
Silas
Oro-Tu
Leialoha
Still need Will Saves from Uriasa and Aurora DC 16 or be shaken for the combat.
Beth Macara |
Beth stands up and calls her companions attention to the creature that just attacked "This thing is not living but not an undead, so it's going to be really resistant to what we throw at it. Let's focus on the joints."
Move action to get up and second move action to use Frebooter's call. +1 attack/damage versus the creature for every one.
brvheart |
[Dice=will save, raging]1d20+7 +5 vs spells/supernatural abilities
It is SU, so Oro saves.
Ivar "Goldilocks" Theodinson |
Ivar, focused on the gold, was a little surprised to see the creature in the armor attack him, hearing Beth call out, Ivar drops his multi tool and drawing his axe repeats "The joint, I'll see what I can do" the necks a joint, right and bring the axe around with a side attack tries to take the things head off.
move action, drawing the axe, kneeling, attacks using two-handed, power attack AC 21
war axe attack: 1d20 + 15 + 1 - 2 ⇒ (7) + 15 + 1 - 2 = 21 for damage: 1d10 + 7 + 6 + 1 + 1d6 ⇒ (9) + 7 + 6 + 1 + (4) = 27 1d6 was cold damage
fort: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (16) + 9 = 25
brvheart |
The steps rise 100 feet in 50 feet and are near vertical. A DC 15 Acrobatics check is required to perform anything beyond a single move action on these steps.
Oro-Tu |
that doesn't affect Ivar who is next to it right?
Oro+-The leaps towards the thing. Acrobatics: 1d20 + 20 ⇒ (15) + 20 = 35
Uraisa Ellsworth |
Uraisa will save 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (11) + 12 = 23
On Uraisa's action, she uses her Wild Shape and turns into an eagle, flying away from the steps, opening up room for the stronger party members to close on the monster.
Aurora Shadowbane |
Will Save: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (17) + 12 = 29
casting True strike with sword drawn so my first attack is a ready action to hits and swift for channel force/grey-flame with power attack on first strike fighting defensively on first round. Second round engaged, cast defensively Blessings of fervor if possible. (choosing Defensive action first round cast)
+1 consecrated grayflame silversheen greatsword (if undead take additional damage, extra 1d6 is Divine Damage)
Ready Attack: 1d20 + 10 + 20 - 6 ⇒ (15) + 10 + 20 - 6 = 392d6 + 1d6 + 5 + 3 + 4 + 4 ⇒ (3, 6) + (5) + 5 + 3 + 4 + 4 = 30
(19-20)
Round after it attacks and i attack Concentration; 4th level spell: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (10) + 12 = 22
brvheart |
longsword: 1d20 + 18 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 18 + 2 = 22 damage: 1d8 + 8 ⇒ (3) + 8 = 11
longsword: 1d20 + 13 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 13 + 2 = 16 damage: 1d8 + 8 ⇒ (1) + 8 = 9
brvheart |
Oro-Tu you can make one attack with your reach weapon. Silas is up.
Oro-Tu |
Attack: 1d20 + 18 ⇒ (15) + 18 = 33
Damage: 1d10 + 13 + 9 ⇒ (7) + 13 + 9 = 29
reckless and power attack
Oro-Tu |
Oro-Tu feels the creature shrug off some of the hit. "What is this thing??"
my weapon is +3 raging by the way so it overcomes cold iron and silver DR
Beth Macara |
My suggestion: steal a grease spell from Leialoha, have everybody shift to the right on the stairs and next turn, cast it on the spot the thing is. It's very likely it will fail its reflex save and fall. If so it will fall down the stairs and every one will have a nice AoO and/or a readied attack on the way.
"Silas, can you try to grease up the stairs where it is? It's likely to make it fall down. Every one, try to step to your left (The right on the map) so as not to get caught."
@Brvheart, with her travel domain ability, Beth can ignore all difficult terrain. Would the stairs count as that?
Next level would be can she use it to move up the stairs just right behind Ivar then step off the stairs to the left (to get a good shot at the thing)?
brvheart |
Silas has a point on the angle. I drew a 3D diagram of the 5'x10' sections and there is no way he can get an angle on it. In fact, Oro-Tu is not even in reach of the creature to hit it. Now of course there are intermediate risers, but this gives you the idea here. You can at best see about the 10' section above you. Stairs
brvheart |
Oro-Tu feels the creature shrug off some of the hit. "What is this thing??"
my weapon is +3 raging by the way so it overcomes cold iron and silver DR
But does not overcome adamantine.
