Barrett pours him a drink of rather potent grog, "Strong enough even for a dwarf!

Morgan "Hoeroa" Randall |

Seeing Silas in conversation with a likely cove already Morgan heads to the bar, plonking himself squarely on a stool, back to the wood of the bar-top, feet planted on the ground surveying the Barnacle's patrons. He spikes his harpoon into the floor and idly spins it in place considering the scene. He spits, looks Jequette up and down appraisingly and scowls.
"What's a rum cull need to do to find work around here? Bartender - two tots of whatever passes for whiskey!"

brvheart |

"All depends on what type of work yer lookin' for" Barrett pours two more grogs. "No whiskey here, only rum. That'll be a silver a piece. They are always looking for strong backs at the docks. If yer skilled, might get hired on with a whaling ship."

Morgan "Hoeroa" Randall |

"Fine, rum for a rum cull like me. Here, jade - rum for ya! [passes to Jequette] Whaling? I'm done with chasing tail! Harrr! Naw, I look fer sumthin more...insalubrious, if ya take my meaning!"
Morgan takes care to slosh most of his rum around and pour the remainder around his mouth and neck, drinking none before smacking his lips in "appreciation".

brvheart |

Morgan Sleight of Hand: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (14) + 3 = 17
Barrett Perception: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (12) + 6 = 18

brvheart |

"Pour it on ya or drink it, it all costs the same, 1 silver.
With those big mitts of yours, you might try fighting down at the Skull. They'll enjoy pounding on that pretty face of yers!"
That gets a few laughs out of the other two at the bar

Silas Frey |

Sorry I thought Obi was getting drinks. Now I realise he went off plan already
"What you drinking?" he asks the man, then once he has the response heads to the bar to buy that and a rum for himself. He returns to the table and sits down. "So I was told by some very talkative men down on the docks about some business. I was looking to offer my services. I help with transportation."

Jequette Nikkia Stromburgous |

"You didn't seem to have a problem chasing tail last night, m'lord." with that said, Jequette, gives a hearty laugh and takes a gulp of the rum. Yikes, this is awful, got to go easy on it or it will cloud my head. She starts to carefully flirt with Morgan while scanning the room.

Garreg Meldenbourne |

You hear the tell tale sounds of a crossbow hammer being pulled back under the table. "Can't trust someone who don't sample the merchandise"
Jequette, as you scan the room the five other patrons are obviously battle scarred veterans bearing rapiers from their scars. You also spot a great axe behind the bar of some quality.

Silas Frey |

Silas looks over the man, smirks to himself, palming the whistle Beth gave into his hand from his pocket. "You can't trust anyone these days." He kicks away from the table, drawing his rapier and blowing the shrill whistle.
Acrobatics: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (4) + 9 = 13

Garreg Meldenbourne |

Kind of figured this would lead to combat!
With any action, but taking the pipe his readied action goes off:
light crossbow: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (19) + 8 = 271d8 + 3d6 ⇒ (6) + (2, 2, 4) = 14
Initiative:
Garreg and co: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (15) + 3 = 18
Silas: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (14) + 4 = 18
Jequette: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 4 = 7
Morgan: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4
Obi: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 2 = 7

Silas Frey |

What about Beth and Kona as the whistle should signal to them?
Silas winces as the bolt plunges into his leg. He moves to trip Garreg up sweeping with his rapier.
Improved Trip: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (3) + 7 = 10

Garreg Meldenbourne |

If they are close enough I will roll init for them on the following round
Round 2 inits for them:
Beth: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (10) + 4 = 14
Sandman: 1d20 ⇒ 7
map2.
You are first up in round one Silas. Your stated action is your action in the surprise round following his shot. You have the better dex.

Beth Macara |

Meanwhile outside the tavern, Beth sits on a small crate, trying to feed birds with the dragonsmoke she has purified. A couple of gulls are perched next to her, looking at the strange power with suspicious eyes.
perception check: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (16) + 11 = 27
Hearing the characteristic sound of her whistle, Beth drops the small bag of purified dragonsmoke she was playing with and jumps on her feet, scaring the gulls who take to the air in a concert of indignant calls.
Without pausing, she rushes towards the tavern, drawing her scimitar in the same move.
Double move towards the tavern with 40 feet movement

Beth Macara |

I am not sure how far away you and Sandman were planning to be Beth. This should get you in striking distance of the tavern in round two to follow the enemy in initiative.
The idea was for me to be able to try to enter the tavern in round two, which would put me somewhere around 100 feet away from the tavern at the start if it's fine with you.

brvheart |

I think Jequette is at work so if Obi gets online first he can go. Same with Morgan. As long as we are not going ahead of the enemy there is no reason to wait I guess. Yes, that is fine Beth.

Obadiah Read |

Obi decides that he cant let his friend have all the fun. The crazed man pulls out his rapier and tumbles over to the man with the crossbow, trying to keep himself from getting sliced to bits before he can take out that crossbow.
Acrobatics: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (20) + 8 = 28
Disarm the Crossbow: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (14) + 8 = 22

brvheart |

Jequette, make a concentration check DC 24 to get the spell off. The check is concentration, not spellcraft for casting defensively also.

brvheart |

Obi, Garreg dropped the crossbow and drew a short sword so do you wish to change your action? You can keep the acrobatics and attack him or completely change it if you like. Actually you can't make it even on a full move as you are 35' away and there is a table and chairs in the way hampering your movement.

Morgan "Hoeroa" Randall |

I'll post soon - trying to put son to sleep...
Morgan suddenly shakes and contorts, bending reality as he suddenly seem to disappear! The bartender loses sight as Morgan blinks out of existence, any others in the room may notice a little Tikiman standing where Morgan was moments before.
Full action: Merge into Tikiman - 4 rounds maximum.
Mana Cost: 1

Tiki Tohoraha |

Not sure if trying to be hidden/stealthy is an action here for Tiki/Morgan. But here's a roll anyway:
Stealth 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (11) + 11 = 22
If not, then Tiki just leers at the dragoon nearest him and makes an obscene Tulita gesture.

Morgan "Hoeroa" Randall |

No idea. Seems like it might, but then who would take the damage? Ask Tim Hitchcock. I'd also like to know if I can do it at any distance... ;)
[EDIT - It's up to you I guess!]

brvheart |

This recreating the map every round is a pain. Have to find a better method. The red area is the web.
Round 2
Silas
Garreg
Beth
Jequette
Obi
Sandman
Morgan

brvheart |

For now I am going to say no especially since this is an action they are definitely not expecting and is not viewed as offensive.

Morgan "Hoeroa" Randall |

For now I am going to say no especially since this is an action they are definitely not expecting and is not viewed as offensive.
Ok. Seems reasonable.
* So what about the bartender and the two dragoons near Morgan initiative? Is the bar-wench a non-combatant?

brvheart |

They go at the same time as Garreg for simplicity sake. Yes, she is a non-combatant. If threatened she will yield or run, but will attempt to meekly hold the door for one round!

brvheart |

Sorry, no sneak attack damage. He has uncanny dodge so the damage is 7. I will do my round in the morning at it is late.

Silas Frey |

why no sneak attack damage? He doesn't have improved uncanny dodge which is what he would need to get rid of sneak attack. I'll have moved to be in a flanking position. Couldn't see the map when I posted from tablet.

--Sandman-- |

In round 1, Sandman was just running in with Beth, closing distance. Just let me know when we've arrived.
Sandman followed Beth, pulling his mask from where it hung at the front of his belt and pressing it firmly to his face as he ran.
The looping blue script that rippled across it's surface seemed to spread, running down his neck and into the swirling grooves of the many scars that covered his body. His dark skin seemed to blacken in the shadows cast by the faint blue light that now swirled across his body.
The mask was the a totem of the darker side of the big shaman's personality. It was everything he'd given up, and everything he'd endured, to become who he was. It was every drop of pain he'd taken from everyone he'd helped and every nightmare he'd taken from those who'd had their dreams ripped from them by honied lies and cruel intentions. It was suffering incarnate.

Beth Macara |

I'm going to be off the net for a little more than a day, so not to slow the fight, I'll put Beth actions in a spoiler. As she does not know what's going in, her actions should not be influenced by the bad guys actions.
Reching deep within, Beth calls for Quell's help and her steps lighten as she climb the steps leading to the tavern.
Reaching the door at full speed, she tries to push it open only to bounce on it back down the stairs.
"If you think that will stop me,", she mutters, setting her gaze on the central window and with a few steps to gether speed, she lanches herself through it, scimetar first, trying to land on her feet.
Free action: use Agile Feet: no difficult terrain for 1 round
Move action: move up to the door (20 foot) and try to open it, then bounce back down the stairs.
Second move action: move and jump through the central window, trying to land on her feet. acrobatics to jump through the window: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (8) + 12 = 20

brvheart |

Silas, you are correct about the uncanny dodge, but you cannot move through the hard corner and moving through the tables and chairs would be difficult terrain and would be more movement than you have to get there. You and Obi can take AOO's as he is picking up his short sword
