Evil GM

I'm going to be out of touch until Sunday evening

Dwarf Warpriest 16 (Champion of Faith) Int+1, F17,R10, W18, +4 vs Spells/PoisonAC37/T17/FF35+4vs Last foe to hit , CMD+28+4vs Bull Rush/Trip, CMB+16 +6 for Trip HP154/154, Percep+18,Diplo+12,Intim+23, Religion+12

Karnog is airborne. Time to shine with holy turning!

Evil GM

I have a busy day but will try to get a post up this evening.

No worries, I'll be dreaming of Duncan inserted into episode 2 GOT battle vs the dead hordes.

One of the better battles throughout the series, if a bit short.

Dwarf Warpriest 16 (Champion of Faith) Int+1, F17,R10, W18, +4 vs Spells/PoisonAC37/T17/FF35+4vs Last foe to hit , CMD+28+4vs Bull Rush/Trip, CMB+16 +6 for Trip HP154/154, Percep+18,Diplo+12,Intim+23, Religion+12

Just realised I am an idiot.
I am Wearing a Necklace of FireBalls!!!!

GM call on the Necklace damage.
I don't think we identified which type it was but all the beads are gonna blow!!!

Duncan, the initial save vs Fireball was DC 21 for 40 fire damage.

Unless you are Vulnerable to Fire or AoE effects for some reason.

I believe the Necklace does not trigger based on that save you first made

yeah, I don't think the necklace blew your head off.

Speaking of GOT:

Ayra's run through Kings Landing is what I pictured with this zombie horde overrun. She was able to bounce off quite a few folks but eventually pin-balled too many times and was knocked down.

Dwarf Warpriest 16 (Champion of Faith) Int+1, F17,R10, W18, +4 vs Spells/PoisonAC37/T17/FF35+4vs Last foe to hit , CMD+28+4vs Bull Rush/Trip, CMB+16 +6 for Trip HP154/154, Percep+18,Diplo+12,Intim+23, Religion+12

Sweet. Not sure what I was smoking. I read the save as 40 and didn't bother to check the math.
Only 20 damage and not 40 then.

Kalim is having a ...blast.

Unnamed

I swear I cannot catch a break. finally finish the play, then a massive unexpected, must be done now project happens at home. so sorry for being gone for a week

Well you've reached a pinnacle in the game. As written this next area is a death trap for 7th to 10 level characters (as it was intended to be). That being said it still looks hard for 15th level characters. I'm only going to tinker with a couple things to increase it's difficulty … good luck.

Down 4 Con HP 112(-)/173 (130); F 15(13) R 9 W 12+2 vs spells, poison, SLA; CMD 30 AC 41(40)/22/39(39) DR (-)6, medium fortification; init +2 Second Wind 0/2 Warrior Spirit 1/3 Skills: Diplomacy+1 Perception +15 +2 Stonecunning Dungeoneering+7 Engineering+6 Survival +10

that is ominous.

Anyone going to Origins this week?

I am going, but I will make sure to post each morning before I leave the room.

Super excited, it will be my first convention as a member of the "press"

Been slammed with work lately, some projects are ramping up. I won't be able to post as frequently but I always make sure to check at least once a day in the mornings on weekdays.

Evil GM

I still need to scale the encounter in order to keep it near the death trap level it was originally written as.

Male Human Ranger 1

BOO! A good author can narrate the epicness of overpowered chars mowing through fodder and still make it sound awesome.

Read Salvatore's A Thousand OCS, to hear a 18th level Ranger awesomeness as he kills like hundreds on 3rd-5th level orcs

Male Human Unchained Rogue 15 AC 30/22/21 Perc +20 (+7 vs traps) Saves 9/18/8 HP 134/134

I remember in a high-powered gestalt/mythic Kingmaker game, when we hit about level 17 we came across a boggard tribe.

I cast cloudkill and summoned a bunch of massive air elementals who used their whirlwind ability to pick up all the boggards and whip them into the cloudkill.

The rest of the party just stood there in shock at the brutal efficiency of it.

Good times.

DM interpretation: grab PCs in massive whirlwind....got it.

Better refill that bowl this should be interesting. I suspect that it will take us all summer, perhaps longer, to resolve this battle.

I'll get the posts up sometime tomorrow. The timing depends on whether I golf in the morning before Father's Day brunch. If I end up golfing the post won't be until late afternoon.

Evil GM

Sorry guys I got busy today, I'm not quite ready to post an update. It'll probably be tomorrow.

Male Human Ranger 1

Off topic guys,

who is planning on making the transition to Pathfinder 2E?

I've heard alot of negatives about the new system being too much like D&D 4e (which I hated)

Paizo has stated that they'll keep making 1e books and with the Massive library of Campaigns available I'm not sure swapping is at all necessary.

In any case I'll make the switch pretty much only if Baldwin and a couple other online DM's I know do.

Play by post is the only way I play these days and really good GM's are hard to find.

Anyone here actually excited about 2E or content with the material we have?

I will not be making the conversion. I like the current system and have spent plenty of money on material, I don't need to do that all over again. I did that once when I converted from 3.5 to pathfinder.

This game began in March 2013, we still have another 10 years of book to go through. Yeah, I'm fine with the material that I have.

The bigger issue for me will be if 3rd party vendors like Herolab starts to phase out support for 1e.

Male Human Ranger 1

The Council of Thieves game is still probably my Favourite one I've played since swapping over.

Would love to do Crimson Throne with the group some day. (Probably my favourite Adventure Path) Would be nice to play a fighter or Ranger for that one.

Or Rise of the Runelords. Classic.

I have never succeeded in getting through Way of the Wicked. I've probably tried that AP at least half a dozen times and have never gotten further than book 2. I ran it myself once, but the party went through such a thorough TPK in book 4 that we decided to end the game.

It's hard to describe how the air was different than just deeper darkness.

I think you did a great job baldwin. It was explicit enough that we knew something was off, and we were given a spellcraft check, but it wasn't made obvious so we could figure it out with meta-knowledge. Well done.

I'm thinking for my next char, I might have to build the ultimate Band-aid cleric.

Someone who totally rules by keeping everyone else at awesomeness levels.

Maybe an evangelist??

Get leadership and have 'Brother Healy McFeely' as a cohort. Doesn't say much but is a whiz with wands and spells.

A healbot is quite possibly the most boring character to play, and usually inefficient to boot. Healing should at most be the secondary role of any character.

Male Human Ranger 1

Ahh, but I never said "Healbot"

I'm thinking for my next char, I might have to build the ultimate Band-aid cleric.

Someone who totally rules by keeping everyone else at awesomeness levels.

A guy who heals real good, but buffs the crap out of everyone as well and does condition removal.

Just been reading and spit balling. Currently loving the Glory domain (Heroism)...

and Justice Variant channelling...

Maybe I should have said "Buffy McBuffbuff"

Great name! You'd be bored buffing, debuffing enemies and healing.

Its possible to play a fun healbottish or healbuffer, but it involves really getting into the religion. To me, at least. I've a cleric of Groetus I love playing.

Male Human Ranger 1

You are of course correct.

Maybe a Combat Bard with the Flag bearer feat and a Banner of the Ancient king's along with Inspire Courage.

He'd have to use a Longspear so would maybe could try a Combat Patrol AOO build....

I've played some awesome cleric but healing is secondary.

I've only just recently heard the aversion to playing "a healer." At my various tabletops, the exchange tended to be making the plot focused on the cleric, kind of.

I'm enjoying playing my cleric.

Karnog heals, sure, but hes mostly about keeping the team alive and well before the damage comes down.
